Chinook Class B??

Hi~~ I have a question about Chinook RVs. I kind of like those although Chinook has gone out of business. Would it be a problem getting it fixed when things break? One of the reasons that I like these is that they were made before the economy went south in a big way and quality was better.
I went to an RV show in Asheville, NC in February but they didn't have many Class Bs or even Cs. It was still fun to look at everything. I spent the day imagining myself on the road in something. It was fun.
Spring is here finally and the daffodils are up. A promise of things to come.
I have been enjoying all of your pics here and there and look forward to posting my own.
I think that I know the answer to this question, but don't want to assume anything as you know what they same about assuming. Thanks..Linda

I have a 2001 24' Chinook Destiny that I purchased 2 yrs. ago from the original owner. I love my coach! It is well made, solid and easy to maneuver. I belong to an online Yahoo group for Chinook owners and there is a plethora of knowledge there. My unit was very well cared for and had 35,000 miles on it when I purchased it. Since the class B is made on a Ford or Chevy chassis the parts to the chassis, drive train, are still available. The parts internal to the "coach" are pretty much all supplied by companies like Dometic and Lippert, and they are still in business. Chinook basically was the assembler which counts for the overall quality. It's well past warranty so Chinook is out of that picture. If you found one you like, I would not let the fact that Chinook is out of business hold me back.

Thank you ladies. I have found a Chinook group and read about their history building rvs. They do look like quality and people love them. HappyTrails-It is good to hear from someone who owns one. If I find one that I like I just might PM you.

I also have a Chinook - a 2000 Chinook Concourse. I agree, the Yahoo group is a fantastic group, with lots of good info on most anything you'd want to know. Chinook's are well built and as you've discovered, their owners love them. Size wise, the Concourse is 21 feet. Some of the later models are a bit longer (couple feet) and some have slides. They're great little units for one or two people. Very easy to drive. As soon as it stops raining here in Texas, I'll be putting my Chinook up for sale with one of the consignment places. I love the Chinook, but need some extra room for working on the road...and, also want to take an older sister with me (she can't handle putting a bed up and down, day after day). If you have any questions on the Concourse model (or, the Premere - it''s just like the Concourse, minus a few bells and whistles), I'd be happy to help.
