Yea for Nan! I too vote for the Phoenix. A decal can be placed on a piece of card board, a piece of plexa glass, etc. therefore it is not "permement" on your rig. Lyn

I'm all for a flag the size that Nan did...way back when and I love it...but my vote is to stay with the Flamingo...It has been the Mascot of The Women's RV Forum since July of 2008, (way before the Pinks)... and Belle has been around since August 2008. We have Flamingo wine glasses since Kerrville GTG Oct. 2008....We have a GTG Banner with Flamingos on it (by the way...it's full and we need a new one.. ) We are all over the country...the Pink Flamingos are regional (TX & LA)....

I understand the reasoning for wanting to change things, yes, we are strong, brave, independent women, but some of us like our fun-loving, tongue-in- cheek, crazy sense of humor. I believe that the change would take that away.......

She's been our mascot since Sharon (Sprinter) first brought her to us. If one of you can figure a way to keep her as she is, and make an image portraying her also as a Phoenix ... go for it. The flamingo went on the logo, etc, for this group because it was and still is the most recognizable rving symbol. No, we don't have to go with the flow, but somethings also have a history, and I don't want the history of Belle diminished - but her growth - well, maybe she can grow into a pink Phoenix? Anyone capable of making a new design incorporating Belle and the Phoenix? Just a thought. Here's an interesting, colorful Phoenix:

Keeping true to Belle's image, but giving her the Phoenix wings, etc.....well, that just might be a very good compromise.. ..can some one come up with it?? I know there's got to be some talented artists in this group...

Just found something interesting, and makes me think we are on the right track, this web site says flamingos were originally mistaken for phoenix.

I'm no artist by any means, but if anyone is, maybe some of the pictures if you click on the legend of the phoenix link in the paragraph, can give ideas.

Could someone do this image with more of a flamingo head? Or I also thought of Sparkles white peacock only making it pink.

The problem is that you need an image that is easy to print and duplicate. The fancy ones with multicolors are going to be very difficult to print and put on stuff. In addition, a lot of those images look like they are meant for airbrushing and tattoos.

Based on my experiences in print media trying to get several company logos printed on documents and on stuff like pencils, baseball caps, t-shirts and other stuff, I would recommend something with a single color and simple outline. (In a past job a long time ago, I was responsible for working with printers to produce marketing materials and get our logo on stationery and giveaways.)

I found this more simple phoenix image: http://www.canstockphoto.com/phoenix-color-14384034.html I like the pink version because it looks feminine and still looks like a phoenix. We would have to purchase rights to use it for multiple things, but that would just take a few of us to chip in initially.

Another image I am attracted to is a roseate spoonbill. They are a pink Florida bird. In searching for images, I found this single pink feather that I thought was interesting: http://www.paulmarcellini.com/photo/roseate-spoonbill-feather/ This image is a photo, but we could find a clipart feather and color it.

How about the pink feather on the second row, far left? http://angiemakes.com/free-feather-clip-art/ A pink feather could symbolize a phoenix or anything else we wanted it to symbolize and it would be unique. This one has sharp edges and is simple so it would print and copy well onto just about anything.

The neat thing about a single feather is that the meaning would be something meaningful to us but that no one else would know unless they came onto this forum. It is simple, but distinct, and I don't know any other group of any kind that uses a feather as a logo.

when I have looked at the roseate the first thing I think of is a flamingo (I think I didn't look this time very low
on time and it doesn't change till the 26 so didn't look at the link that Judy provided)
thanks for all the impute you are providing ....I really don't have any ideas though
