First Day of Spring

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

First Day of Spring

Postby Colliemom » Fri Mar 20, 2015 6:58 am

Good Morning all,

Probably should be more like thie first night of spring as it doesn't arrive till something like 6:46 p.m. and winter is going to give you folks in the NE, one final last hurrah. Sorry ladies, been there done that. But it too shall pass. Donna, sounds like you will have fun working on quilt hanging. Sarah, sorry to hear the MH deal won't happen, but maybe it just wasn't the right one for you. We all know there are reasons for things. Glad you are enjoying the yoga class though. Sure wish you could join me out west. Yea for Beth and Carolb, out hiking no matter the weather. Glad you knee finally straightened up Beth. Seems everybody's getting busy these days. Cheryl, saw your message about IL. Will see which way I route home.

Nothing earth shattering here today. Might go down to Camping World. Want to get Passport America and they have the new directories right there. I know I can join online but why pass up a trip to Camping World, right! Plus I'm in mood for a ride. Waiting to hear back from Teton Valley campground regarding reservations. So Sheila, if I book there it wil be for June 15-16. Saw what looks like a really nice campground on Yellowstone River Near Livingston, MT, so maybe be parking there on way.

Just cereal here this morning. Bowl of strawberries to. Have more if you want a light breakfast. You all have a fun day out there :D

Good morning all!

It's been awhile since I posted, been dealing with all the health issues and was afraid you all would be bored hearing about it. To make a long story short, I have been to the specialists and got more mri's, and decided to put the brakes on the whole thing because they want to do a sacroiliac injection. I am going to try and get by the way I have been because I have good days and bad days and will see where it goes from there. I felt totally awesome when my primary care DR. once gave me some sort of Z-pack of cortisone pills. anyway.....

new problem here, after checking on Miss Minerva under the rv carport we discovered a little separation on the outside seam of the cab. DH got at it, tore the thing apart and found wet luan...big project going on now because he also opened up the rear corner of the coach where there was a delam bubble, and took all that out. He is a DIY' er and Thank God because when I saw how these things are constructed, it's a joke! Winnebago wanted thousands $$$ to fix it and according to some on the internet, they don't do that good of a job! more on that later too....

Been following along with you all and getting excited reading of all your upcoming plans! You are all a blessing and I can't help always repeating that I learn so much!
Stay safe, spring is around the corner somewhere, even though we are having a little snow here now!

Good morning! Happy first day of spring! Glad someone told me since I'm sitting here watching the snow fall! I'd never know spring is (supposed to be) here! Sure glad I didn't uncover Lola! But supposed to be 50 tomorrow so not worried about it staying! Actually it isn't unusual and we may get more into April. But as I said, these snows don't stick around long. Road out front of my house isn't bad so I guess that's a good thing. My assumption would be that most of the main roads are okay.

My icemaker sprang a leak the other day but luckily I heard it before it flooded the kitchen so got to play plumber yesterday! A trip to the hardware store to get replacement parts and finding the right size wrench took most of the time! I figured there had to be wrenches somewhere in DH tools! But got the job done! So back to having ice again!

Donna, sounds like a week end to just sit on your little patio and watch the happenings! And work on your quilting. Sarah, there is something else out there for you! Maybe when you least expect it.

Coffee is on and I think I'll have another cup, then get some stuff done here in the house. I need to do some laundry so guess that's a good place to start! Hope everyone has a good day and enjoys the start of spring!

Good afternoon,

So sorry to hear about everyone's health problems. They can be a real bummer  Hope all are able to get feeling better soon!

Dave and I are at the 12 Hours of Sebring race. It's hot, hot, hot out here. So glad we have the generator and can run the ac. It's so hot we don't even dutch oven cook

Stay safe and have a great weekend.

Afternoon all, Well we had a dusting of snow this morning but it's pretty much melted off now. Hoping to go camping Easter Weekend since the CG we normally go to does so much for the kids. Weather does not appear to be cooperating. May have to re-winterize if we can go. Knee is improving and got to drive again the other day ( I don't make a good passenger :? ).

Please don't take this the wrong way and I enjoy reading everyone's adventures but it sure does make me long for the opportunity to get out again and travel a bit myself. I have a bad case of wonder lust and the GB seems to have inherited it as well ;) I always enjoyed running long haul. I just missed having family and a bathroom (private shower) at the end of the day. Since the RV would accommodate those two issues, it simply a matter of income and I'd sell the sticks and bricks and be gone.

I had a long chatty post all ready to submit and I looked at the screen and everything had gone poof, so poop will just say Elsie and I won't be going to TX. My Irish friend will be in Houston and no way would I be up to driving in that town! Besides she will be busy with family and her brothers new baby. I went out for breakfast to a place where I was a regular many years ago and enjoyed talking to old friends. Then to Best Buy where I had planned to get an I phone 6 but one of the sales clerks had on what smelled like a whole bottle of stinky perfume and I had to leave. I didn't say it was stinky to her but did explain why I had to leave. :) I think I hear the cleaning ladies so better go. Have a good day and be safe.

The trash truck just passed. When I hear about people that have to haul their own trash I am happy we live in a parish with good services and roads. We use to have dumpsters we had to haul the trash to.

I think we skipped spring and jumped to summer too. There will probably be another cold spell before it's over. Most farmers won't plant before Good Friday.

Is anyone else tired of basketball already? Our ABC station is off the air again on Direct for some unknown reason and the CBS 6:00 news last night was at 11:40. :?

I had my last eye checkup yesterday and left my glasses to be fixed. I have tried the Dollar Store glasses and I can't keep them on.

Donna, 60,000 music fans in town would not be my idea of a good time. There is an international music festival in Lafayette every year that brings in over 100,000 people. I have been twice and it's wall to wall people in the downtown area. The only one I would brave that crowd for is Irma Thomas. When we were in Alabama last Summer there was a free concert on the beach. I don't remember the star that was there but just the pictures on TV were scary. Some people in the campground went and came back looking like lobsters.

I found out a few days ago that I have a problem with my motorhome. I tried to unplug it and the electric cord had melted to the electric inlet. I ran the heat strip in the air conditioner when there was a chance of a freeze. That might have done it. I found the part that needs to be changed and my son is going to see if he can rewire it. I have a trip planned in 2 weeks and I can't get it into a service place for a month.

Does anyone remember what post the discussion about inner ear problem was discussed? I remember some talking about it recently but I can't find it. Harold has that problem this morning. I gave him a sinus pill and that helped.

Good afternoon. Moving day again and a good thing I didn't need an early start because the fog was dense until after 10:00am. Only a short drive up to McIntosh from Ocala. Will visit with Nan & Liz couple of days then inch on toward home.
Am a bit concerned about Nicky. He has been having a difficult time getting up lately. Seems fine once he is standing so not sure why might be going on - back, hip, leg or muscle. Doesn't whine or pull away any where I touch him. Will keep close eye on him next 24 hours, then decide if need to hurry home to get him to vet.
Whatever the problem was with my Fitbit, it seems to have corrected itself. And I'm on track for making my weekly step goal for the first time since I bought the thing.
Another beautiful day in FL tho it is getting a bit too hot lately; nights have remained comfortable. Kinda beginning to look forward to spring at home.
Have a great day.

Well, I guess it's spring now? What time did you say, Sue??? But it's surely not morning at all--probably already Sat on the east coast where y'all got snowed again??! Oh my, it just ain't quittin ....

Okay, this is the time of day when my mind turns to mush, so excuse me....but I finally decided to get out my laptop to REALLY write a few words... Beth, didn't mean to "dis" you--did you get my text? I really crashed after our hike, tho I took a short walk by your camper. Really thought I'd see you in the a.m., but no lites on in your rig at 6:30 a.m. so you were crashed??? or out walking Peaches??? Anyway, wasn't that a GREAT hike? Thanks sooooo much! Such a blessing that timing & weather all worked out perfect. Now, you must let peoples know that I was rushing ahead at the end of the hike cuz I really need to P!

See, my mind is mush...Hope all with health issues can find healing, those in snow can find warmth, & those in heat (Martha!) can find cool & all other good wishes going your way. I need about 3-4 more days to get thru TX, then be your way Martha...Then another week after, see you O'Sharon???

Y'all have a great night/morning...or whatever depending on when you read this! Be safe always....:)

Spring has sprung but not around here. Too dry and cold now. In the 30's and 40's for highs this week only. Not as nice as last week but a lot nicer than a couple weeks ago! May get some flurries tomorrow. We really need a good soaking rain/thunderstorm to get things around here cleaned up and greened up!

The shoreline retaining wall is finished and looks great, as does the new beach! Ice out is still a few weeks out tho.

Heading out tomorrow to look at a couple of Jeeps I am interested in. Not in a hurry to buy anything but mostly just looking to see what is out there and what I can afford and how much I can get for my Jeep as trade-in, etc.

I cancelled the internet/cable service I just got a few weeks ago. I had really slow/bad connection on their internet and when I got my first bill yesterday, I was shocked! Was supposed to be $69.95 per month, but the bill was for $227.00! I called them and they tried to tell me I was being billed for 2 months. I said that is a lot more than just two months worth! I told them to cancel my service and return initial $134 I paid for installation and first months service. I was able to go back to the old company I had, who had doubled my monthly fee, and get them to agree to the original amount I was paying ($29.95) for a year. Their internet was great and I never had problems with them. I am giving up cable TV again, tho, and just when I started getting back into my old favorite shows on TLC and HGTV. Oh, well.

Did I mention that my dad got his feeding tube removed the other day? He feels so much better now! What a hassle that was trying to get that removed over the past year or so, but now with a new good doctor, it was finally accomplished!

Gotta get to bed early tonight. One of the car dealers is and hour and a half north of me so I want to get going early in the morning. The other dealer is 45 minutes south of me, so will be doing a lot of driving tomorrow! Am hoping to get a nicer vehicle than the one I have now, for lower monthly payments (better credit now so hopefully much lower interest rate). I have done my homework on these vehicles so I am much better prepared than I was when I bought the Jeep that I have now (and got thoroughly ripped off!)

Hope you all have a good night! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, isn't it something how the "deal" you got, wasn't? But I'm glad your dad finally got the feeding tube out and that you and he both seem to be happy with his new doctor. If only he'd have changed doctors before!

Carolb - me up at 6:30 am? Not if I can help it. Although I was awake, because I also was asleep much earlier than normal. I was sooooooo glad for our time on that hike, and sorry I was slowing you down when we both needed to pee so badly lol. I'm not sure how I made it those extra minutes - I know I was talking to my knee after you finally went on ahead. I might have been cussing it more than talking. BTW, it's perfectly fine now - just got overused on that hike ... and I would do it all again. Did you see the couple pictures I posted in the General room? I will get more in a blog post, eventually.

Went to the Ranger program tonight - it was good. Glad they are finally doing some. Even saw stars in the sky. I took Peaches with - glad I did, because then our last walk, was only home - and shortly after, it started pouring. Just now I heard thunder! Did laundry today and the bed isn't made yet, so time to get that done (Peaches is giving me the evil eye - can't have that!)

8 more work days (with 4 off in the middle) and I'll be back on the road ... this couple months has flown by.
