Flying back, and he is paying for all of it via his dad. However...have to check further into bringing Maggie on the plane, otherwise I'll have to get a house sitter or board her. :-( Its all in the planning stage at the moment.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to hire a company or osmeone to drive them out for you? Then if you want you could take your car and Maggie and go visit for awhile, if you want.

Ava if you were closer I'd keep Maggie for you. Unfortunately, I'm half the country away.

Please make sure you can keep Maggie with you - I do not believe she'd handle cargo well. And, not to be negative, but make sure he's paying up front. You have been the best ever friend ... time for him to be.

Finally saw orthopedic doc today who confirmed a trigger thumb. Gave me shot of cortisone. Made it feel really great for a few hours until the local anesthesia wore off. Then reality and the pain set in. :o

Took a pain pill and a nap and feel much better though a bit woozy. Will take a couple of days to start working but I have been in so much pain lately I am happy with that.

Don't know what happened but I had a horrible night last night with very realistic nightmares. I am very comfortable traveling alone, but all my fears kicked in with people trying to break in, being in a strange motorhome in a strange campground, getting lost, forgetting to close blinds so people could look in, and lots more. I'd wake up but then nightmares would start again. Got about two hours sleep.

Then at 4 am I checked blood pressure, and it was 180/110 so maybe i had forgotten one of my pills. Scary. Took a preventive aspirin and extra blood pressure pill. Ended up staying up until I had to leave for early doctor appt. Wonder if it was Coke I drank late or one of my meds? Anyway, rough day today but feeling better now.

Maybe it was one of the meds or something, or the shot you just got. Who knows. Sorry you didn't get much sleep, Judy. I haven't been having any nightmares, but I have been seeing a lot of people including my parents and friends in my dreams at night. Been having some weird dreams that don't make any sense. But when the furry alarm clock arrives in the a.m., dreams are forgotten

very odd, but I have had a night or so, lately that I have had dreams too. One I remember, one person was in a group I was dreaming of and that person didn't even know the group, so what was he in there for??? Not worth wondering about, but weird, but then I am that, so not surprised at things that occur

Last few nights have been fine and blood pressure is better. I do need to lose the 10 pounds I have gained this year. That would help blood pressure.

The weird thing about those nightmares is that they were almost hallucinations because I swear I was awake part of the time. One worry about living alone as I have done for past 20+ years is dealing with weird things like these. And really I have almost never been frightened or even worried traveling alone. Exception was once in huge Mammoth Cave National park in really dark campground in November when I think I was only person there. Next night other campers arrived and it did not seem so dark.

Somewhere on this forum someone mentioned that they couldn't find polo shirts. I cannot find the thread again...of course it could have been on Facebook too...but I don't think it was. So I'll reply here hoping the person will see it. Try Lands End for polo shirts. They always have a good selection of polos in a variety of colors. I wear them to work in the summer all the time. I've always had fantastic luck with their clothing. In fact you usually end up hating something before you can wear it out. I've had the same squall parka for 12 years and it still looks good and is by far the warmest coat I have ever had. I keep looking for a new jacket because in all actuality I am sick to death of that coat....but can't find anything I think will be as warm.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Pat, I think it was the morning coffee thread, but not sure.

I get frustrated with Land' End because I'll love something and they change it or discontinue it. When I managed a motel in Dodgeville, WI, I looked forward to August every year. Dodgeville is the home of Lands' End and they had a tent sale every year with deeply discounted prices. As things sold, other items would replace them - so if you saw something early in the day, it might be gone, but other merchandise would be there. I would spend way too much money if I took money with me. And learned to make ONE trip - because it was dangerous to go back.

Pat, that was me talking about Polo type shirts. In the past I have been able to find Ralph Lauren or Karen Scott shirts on sale at the mall. I went to Dillard's and Macy's a couple of weeks ago and all the knit shirts don't have collars. They will probably get some sooner or later. I'll look and see what Land's End has.

This morning I noticed that my tire pressure monitor in the motorhome was off. I haven't been anywhere in so long that the engine battery was dead. It wouldn't even turn over with the battery assist. I have the charger on it now. I guess that means I need to go somewhere.

I buy my Polo shirts from L.L. Bean. They have a nice variety of them. I think Lands End has better colors but I have issues with Lands End fit. Also have picked up some from Kohl's that are nice too.

I wear Polo shirts all the time as they are comfty and the collars look good over my sweathshirts. The thing I like is that if it get too warm, I can take my sweatshirt off and I have my shirt on underneath. Works great in changing weather conditions.
