Into week four all ready!

Postby mtngal » Tue Mar 17, 2009 11:25 am

Glad to see so many posting weight loss efforts. Yay to all!

I'm down a couple more #s. Following a toddler around for almost two weeks!
So, about a # a week. After DD and DGD go home I hope to step up the activity level.

Note to short people: grrrrrrr, I haven't seen 120 since my first driver lic!

Any new light recipes to share?

Well, finally, Sparkle bought a scale and brought it to my place last night for me to weigh again today - dang her anyway. Needless to say - it's week 4 and I weigh just a few ounces less than at the start. Actually, I'm not unhappy with that as it means I haven't gained anything, even with all the people and eating out, etc I've been doing. I'm going to work much harder on caloric intake after I get back on the road the beginning of April.

If and when I break 120 - I'll be ecstatic - as I only went over it when I quit smoking and with menopause. First time in menopause, when they put me on hormones, I went back under easily. Since they took me off the hormones several years ago, I thought the mid 120's was where I'd learn to live - until I GAINED here in TX. Ouch. So, first I need to get back to the mid-120's, then I'm going to go for getting back under it - and staying there!

Hi all, I haven't been that good last week, so no weight loss. The neighbor girl, a girl scout, delivered the cookies I ordered. I only ordered 2 boxes of the mint cookies, my absolute favorite (pat myself on the back for only ordering 2 boxes). The weather has been nice lately, 60's and today about 80, so I've gotten on the folding bike and have been able to get some exercise in. Using this bike is different. It's not for vigorous exercise, but I can ride around the neighborhood and get a workout. I think I'll be able to keep it up. that's all for week 4.

I lost 1.5 lbs, so I'm going in the right direction.
Today I lost a crown from a tooth, went to the dentist & found that the crown can't be saved, I have to start all over with a new crown & major $$$$. So I may be on a liquid diet for the next couple of weeks as I go thru this #**@*#@ dental work! Not the method that I wanted to use to lose weight!! :(

Today was the first day I was serious about dieting. I had a light breakfast and told myself that the next time I would eat would be at 10.30am. At 9.30am I found myself standing in front of the open refrigerator door staring in wondering what I could eat. Then I realised I wasn't even hungry! It was just habit. I made it to 10.30. :D

Just imagining Sparkle losing weight - and her disappearing behind the Elvis head. (And I'll admit here where maybe all won't see it - I provided the Elvis head, too the picture and made it avatar size for her - me bad :) )

Well, my Wii fit informed me this morning that I'd gained a pound. :o And man-o-man, so did my regular scale! Ms. Wii also reminded me it had been 7 days since I'd visited her last....could that have something to do with it?

Don't really need to lose weight, just need to firm the flab and having trouble getting my lazy butt to Curves, but here's a nice recipe for you, especially with the warmer weather coming up.

Chinese Chicken Salad

1/2 cup sliced almonds
1/2-full package top Ramen noodle soup, crushed (discard broth packet)
1/2-1 cup cooked chicken breast, cut up
1 head Napa Cabbage
Ken's Low Cal Raspberry Walnut Vinegerette Dressing

Brown almonds and Ramen in a non-stick pan, stirring constantly, cool (be careful, they brown quickly and burn even more quickly!)
Slice cabbage, add chicken, almonds and ramen, dress to taste with the raspberry dressing.

You can also make your own dressing with raspberry vinegar, oil and stevia or other sweetner.

Almonds are fabulous for loosing belly fat and give the salad along with the ramen a nice crunch, the raspberry dressing helps to satisfy the sweet tooth.
Only Irish coffee provides in a single glass all four essential food groups: alcohol, caffeine, sugar and fat.

That sounds good Sharon. I was wondering what to do with the rest of my Napa Cabbage and Beth just introduced me to the lo-cal Raspberry Vinaigrette. It was excellent. So off to the store tomorrow to get the Ramen soup, the only ingredient I don't have.

Sharon, I love the cabbage/noodle salad! I got the recipe years ago when someone brought it to my daughter's baby shower. My problem is I can eat the entire thing in one sitting if I'm not careful! So ladies, try it, you'll love it!

Today I officially reached my goal weight loss of 25 lbs!! :D I weighed 153.5 on my scale, but fully clothed I weighed 155 on theirs! I have been on stabilization now for going on 3 wks and so far, so good. If I would get off my lazy butt and exercise more I'm sure I could be down a few more lbs. When the weather is cold and dreary I tend to want to just veg. My bad! Hope everyone else is having a good week. Prepare now for the weekend or any eating out.

Congratulations on your loss! Do you feel better healthwise? Mu advice is get a Pedometer. Whatever you do the first day you will want to do more tomorrow. I got the LifeFitness from CVS. It tells you how many steps, how many aerobic steps, calories lost, grams of fat burned and miles walked. I'm getting obsessive about it. Carole, Karens friend, caught me out in the dark last night because I needed another 56 steps! I'm walking 6 miles a day. WooHooo! Of course its easy to do that when you are at the beach, so maybe I should keep my woohooos to myself.
