Well I didn't do something this morning and I'm paying for it tonight. Talk about a dumb poop for brains thing.

I was so proud of myself this morning. Now I just want to kick myself. :( :x

All freaking day long I have sat and dreamed, squirmed and drooled at the thought of getting home and having corned beef and cabbage ready and waiting for my fork!!! It was gonna be just perfect, ya know? Cabbage was gonna be cooked to just the right tenderness. Brisket was going to be juicy and cooked to perfection........ OH YEAH!!!

Well it would have too.

If I had remembered to plug the freaking crockpot in after I loaded it and turned it on.

Yep ya read that right. I turned it on but didn't have it plugged in. :x  :x  :x

WAAAAAAAAAA

I guess I know what I'm having for brunch before I go to work.

That is so funny. I did the same thing years ago. I had invited company over that night; we ended up going out to dinner.

Oh, I know how disappointing that was! Enjoy your brunch though, and dream of leftovers for dinner tonight!

Been there, done that, only it was chicken so had to throw the whole thing out...at least you were able to save yours!

Seeeee...you're not the only one here with poop for brains! You're in good company!

yep happened here too! I have to say though it was Dan who did it not me!!! I put some chicken wings in the oven to warm up and told Dan when the bell rings to open the door and then close it so it goes on.....well they were cold! Dan's response was " You told me to just open the door and close it...you did not tell me to turn it on!!" Gurrrrrr!!!!

Oh, I laughed ... not at you ... but because while I have not done that specific thing ... I have had brain-farts of equal or greater proportion.

I'm so sorry that happened to you, especially since you mouth was watering for it!! I'm also sorry that the story made me chuckle.

But the bright side - you still had the meal to look forward to.

Echo, you are in good company, and we all do that stuff, I, for one, usually don't tell all of mine though,  Sure love hearing yours, makes my day lots of times.
Sure glad you were still able to enjoy it, I bought some cabbage, because you made my mouth water up, when you were telling us what you were fixing. I will try to remember to turn my crockpot on though :o ;) Sure glad this goof, turned out great for you.

Take care

I am ashamed to say I regularly get my coffee pot ready to brew, walk away and return later to pour me a fresh cup, and discover I never turned the darned thing on! At least that's not an entire day of anticipating a nicely cooked meal, but an empty coffee cup is a blow to one's psyche this early in the morning!

We've all been there! :)

Those bread makers are like the crock pot. Filled it up, set the timer at lunch, went back to work. Came home at 5:30 that day, opened the door, sniffed, no bread smell. Walked into the kitchen that breadmaker had walked off the counter and I had a rising pile of goo on my floor. Scrapped it up and put it in the trash. What a let down, no fresh bread for dinner.
