Snowy Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Snowy Monday

Postby Othersharon » Mon Jan 19, 2015 10:42 am

Good morning all! Everyone, including myself must be starting late today! I'm having coffee at my new island in my kitchen! My friend and her husband came over yesterday and between the 3 of us we got it built. Between all of us we actually had everything we needed in terms of screws and such, no extra trips to the hardware store! I was able to find things in my DH's garage and tool chest that I sorta thought might be there! That's a project that I haven't gotten into since he passed away. Guess I need to rethink what I keep and get rid of. Always seems there's some little thing that comes in handy! I've wanted an island for a long time and I love it. The pups are confused, the younger dog usually laid under the table and now he has to find a new spot! He is my one that wants to be right next to me.

My sister in law and I went car shopping on Saturday. They totaled her truck so she needed to find something else. We checked a bunch of places and the last stop she found a car she liked. So she got it and drove it home. I'm so glad, car shopping isn't on my list of fun things to do! She's recovering but is still in pain. The ribs are going to take awhile to heal. Not fast enough for her! She's hard to keep down.

I need to get outside and shovel or sweep the snow off the sidewalk and driveway. We were lucky we didn't get what they had in the eastern part of the state. Lots of accidents and ice apparently. I been reading about all the gtg's and envy you all the nice warm weather! Let's see, how many weeks until spring! Okay, enough rambling, need to get going. Coffee is on and even have muffins this morning. I can always stop and visit! Work can wait! Have a good day and stay safe...and warm!

good morning :D
ask me how well house cleaning went yesterday
well, I'm happy with most of it, new sheets and mattress pad on the bed and rearranged closets, did 80% of the laundry and
went through a few drawers looking for stuff. Went through my underbed storage, neat stuff I forgot I had, mostly of my sewing era.
Got my snap machine out (scans photos) thank god it still works cause at one
point in time it fell off the shelf. Put a few photos on the computer. Will do some more scanning and continue with the house today to clean up the mess I made yesterday sorting through stuff.
Did do up a couple pieces of chicken in the crockpot for dinner last night, was very good. Tonight will be microwave dinner
night.
Not much else to talk about, ya'll have a great day and be safe. Hoping everyone is staying warm.

Good Morniing,

OSharon, if you have room, keep the tools! 11 years later and I kick myself from time to time for getting rid of some things when I hit the road. Thank goodness when I'm around here, LeRoy has tools. Ava, just like Christmas finding things you forgot, huh?

I'm being lazy again this morning even though I was up early. Yesterday was a lot of football - and the Seahawks are going to the Superbowl for the 2nd straight year. Game will be in Phoenix, but I don't have thousands of dollars for a ticket!! :(

Enjoy your day and safe travels!!

Go Seahawks! I heard the news this a.m. and knew you'd be on cloud nine, Anita:) O'Sharon, just yesterday I was wondering about your island--can't wait to sit there with you and have coffee:)

Arrived at Sharon's ystrday--always great to see you Sharon! We're both packing today--she'll be on her way to Q, and I've decided to do SlabCity while I'm already out this way. Then head to Q on Wed--gtg going strong:)

Belated happy bday Barbie! Y'all have a great day:)

Good Morning! Have the day off….MLK day, President’s Day, Native American Day and Veterans Day are my favorite paid holidays. Don’t have to cook, clean or entertain! Just a day off to do whatever I feel like and that will likely be nothing. I did decide to get dressed and go to coffee with the ladies, but I showed up at 10:00 and no one was around so I came home and finished off the pot I made when I woke up. I am going to try Liz’s pork chops with sweet potatoes and apples today….going to need to get that cooking pretty soon. Then the other night we changed the fluorescent bulbs in the laundry room and one of the old ones dropped on the ceramic floor….what a mess….glass everywhere. So I threw the rugs out on the patio. I need to get those on the line and beat them a little to try to get all those tiny slivers of glass out of them. It’s windy today so that will shake it out too. I love my ceramic floors but darn if something glass drops it just explodes. Number one reason I have polycarbonate glassware for everyday use.

Saturday night the girls and I got together for one of our Steel Magnolia sessions. We haven’t done that for ages. It was so much fun. It is really uncanny how each of us is so similar to one of the characters in that movie. We always say that were going to do that at least once a month but we never seem to get that accomplished. Original plan at the beginning of the week was that we were going to go to the local casino to see an Elvis impersonator, but Cathy couldn’t get home from work in time to go to the early show at 7:00 and we weren’t too excited about waiting until the second show at 10:00. Funny how 10 sounds so late now but what seems like just a few years ago it was the beginning of the evening!

Needless to say I was disappointed in the outcome of the Seahawks/Packers game. Gotta cheer for the local team....which for me is the Viking, Packers and Lions...I draw the line with the Broncos. But it was a fantastic game and was probably a better game than the BIG DANCE will be. I will be rooting for the Seahawks at the Super Bowl again this year.

Certainly looks like the Q gang is having a good time. We really do need to have them take a group picture with the nekked man! Each of them really should have a framed print of it in their rigs.

Well ladies have a wonderful day.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

 You need to be very careful cleaning up and disposing of a broke fluorescent bulb since they contain mercury!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
