I made it to Phoenix after lots of stops. Big thanks to Ava. My RV is comfortable at her place. Had a good, but too short, chat. Then I stopped and surprised Carolb at the Casino lot. Even shorter chat. But I know I'll be seeing both again soon.

Now I'm settled in for my week here. Hopefully I'll be helpful. I do know I'll making the crock pot pork chops while here.

Last time I remember Vicki posting was when there was a misunderstanding about a member's post being in all caps. I think Vicki felt bad about her own response - which I don't think was inappropriate. I wish she'd reconsider as I think we all so enjoyed her banter with Mitch. They provided many laughs and made it so much fun. Every time I would lament the fact that I'm not even close to being so quick-minded and funny. I haven't seen a post since from the other person.

Mitch, can you persuade her to come back? Just think of all the times you could publicly call her a dufus.

I have never met Vicky but I do miss her post and I also must have been unfriended on Facebook
I was trying to figure out what I did cause her to unfriend me but maybe I'm not alone so I don't feel too
bad now...she sure did make me laugh a lot of times with her post

Enjoying watching really big waves break offshore here at Gamble Rogers. Some look at least 6-7 feet tall, so would be perfect for surfers, but probably too cold for that. Much too windy and cold for a beach walk. Did three loads of laundry today and got everything folded and put away.

Excitement around noon today was a clogged toilet. I put very little toilet paper down it--put most in the trash, but I did have company around Christmas so that may have been the cause. I have noticed it "burping" lately, which is usually a symptom of problems. Anyway, I reached down with a long dowel and stirred things to break the pyramid of TP or poop or whatever it was, and then drove to the dump station. Luckily, they have a faucet where you can hook up a flush hose, so I did that as well. I think it is mostly clear, but I will use a lot of water and not put any TP in it for a while. I am going out probably on Friday to get some big rugs washed, so I will add a lot of water then and do a lot of swerving and sudden stops to slosh things around. Glad I discovered it in the morning instead of the middle of the night!!

Funny thing is that the sensor did not show it as being full, hence my not noticing the problem sooner. Miserable to have sewage problems. Have not had a clog for almost two years. One thing I did stop doing after the holidays, which I need to start up again, is dumping a full gallon of water down it at once, to produce a sort of gush that I think helps break things up.

I met with another local petsitter for breakfast this morning--this is a first for me! In 7 yrs., I've only been approached once about getting together and that was a "newbie" who only wanted me to tell her how to start her own business in my territory! This lady sent me a message on my FB biz page asking about the possibility of me watching her own animals if she needed to go away. She was very clear that we shouldn't talk business, just wanted to "meet & greet". So after talking to her on FB and then on the phone, I decided we should finally meet in person. We had a very nice visit and agreed it would be a good idea to act as each other's back up should the need arise. I have to say I was quite skeptical when she first approached me but after talking with her, she's really nice. Petsitters in this area are really terrritorial and don't usually mix (at least, no one's ever talked to me before) so it was nice to meet someone in my business who's not out to try to knock my feet out from under me. I hope this will be just the first of many breakfast meetings!
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Wow, the woman that wanted you to help her start a business in your territory had some nerve. The one you just met does seem nice. Maybe it would be good to have a backup. Petsitting seems to be in demand here, one of my friends does it part time but she could stay busy pretty much all the time if she wanted. I did a doggy day care for a little Bichon one time and part of the deal was I taught him some basic obedience. He was really smart and it worked out well except my two Standard Poodles at the time never accepted him and keeping them separate just got to be too much.

OMGoodness! Remember me asking you all about diesel engines in a class c motorhome for sale here in my town? Well, I decided to pass on that one and have been looking for a similar one ever since; not that I don't love my truck camper, I do, but I just feel pulled towards getting a small class c. This evening I was looking over the west Chicagoland craigslist and guess what I found? Yes! A cute lil' 20ft. class c! It's only 35 miles from my house! If this isn't a sign to go and take a look at it, I don't know how much clearer fate could make it!
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.
