I have never been to a big RV Show....after my PT is done I hope to meet up with some of you all in Florida...if I can find you...it is funny (strange) how getting the RV in a CG does for my attitude ...soooooo wonderful to feel good for a change... but I know the minute I pull into that drive way again...it will not be not good...anyway I will play today for all I can...so with that .. have a fun filled day and be safe....to you all... donna & Maggie.. ;)

Breezy on Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu Jan 15, 2015 8:28 am

Good Morning all,

Carolb, thanks for starting coffee yesterday. Was nice to see your post. I was p early, but was busy with other things and decided to wait and let somebody else make the coffee for a change :)

Lots of news on here yesterday. Q GTG shaping up, Sick Bay down in FL for Liz and Carol, hope you two get to feeling better pretty quick so you can have some fun. Tampa RV show sounds like so much fun. But also tempting in the money department. Great way for find goodies at vendors though. BJ, my -22 was cold, but I have been in worse. Now temps are heading into 30's by weekend. Martha, may as well start the RMD's. A bit more money in the pocketbook and it's yours to do what you want with. And always reinvest if you want, but we don't know how long any of us are going to be on the face of this earth, so maybe as well go for it. Beth, sounds like the extended care facility is good move for everybody. Although Maurine is probably a bit apprehensive, she will relax once they get settled into a routine. Not the same as being in one's own home of course, but there comes a time when we all must face that decision or don't want the resonsibiliies of home ownership anymore.

Not much doing here today. Bit tired. Trying new routine with Molly now, in that she's in bed with me all night rather than her pen, but we had a few more potty sessions last night then normal, so had to get up more. Right now she's sleeping  But she wants to be with me, so.... Hates going into her pen anymore. She was in a crate all night as a pup with the breeder, has been in her pen at night since she has been here, so I think she has had enough. We will settle this new routine down eventually. She also went for her first official long doggie walk yesterday too. Horizons are expanding.

So guess I will start another jigsaw puzzle today and maybe take some naps. Notice I said "maybe" Mom Nature is being nice as far as snow is concerned. Hardly any in forecast for this week and next except maybe a chance of light snow. Fine by me as my blower is in shop for repairs.

Enough of this nonsense jabbering here. Breakfast bar is open for bacon eggs toast today. Have a nice day everyone :)

Postby carolb » Thu Jan 15, 2015 8:29 am

G'morning all :)

Me again? Well, guess eastcoasters are still snuggled in warm beds--that's where I'd be in zero degree.weather;)

Made it to Q, will visit with the gtgers later this a.m. Get to see the Slingshot! Almost as exciting as seeing the forum familu LOL

BJ, glad to hear you're feeling better! Anita, read the pet post, hope DD's.dog does well with surgery, n I agree that food could make a dif. It did for Tigg's seizures.

Typing on cell, battery dying:( Y'all have a great day, stay safe always!

Looks like 3 of you started MC at the same time! Hope you enjoy your day, Donna. And I di expect we'll get together somewhere soon.

The worst is over here in the stomach bug department. I feel fine this morning and was able to eat a normal breakfast. CArol said she was feeling better last night too, so hopefully we can all get out for some fun. Temps turned chilly here again, so looking forward like everyone else to a warming trend and sunshine.

Glad to hear you and Carol are feeling better Liz! Donna you sound happy this morning, too bad you can't go up and camp with the others. Does your dad need you to stay with him? Carolb I hope you get a ride in Anita's slingshot, maybe just a ride around the block if you don't want to do the zoom, zoom :)
We have a little snow this morning but they are still saying warmer weather will be here soon.... I'm having lunch with a friend today and then off to a nap on the acupuncture table. For some reason this winter has made me a bit depressed, I think it is because we have had so many gray really cold days. It just seem easier to stay inside.
The air boat ride Tina posted about sure sounded like fun but bet they wished they had ear plugs.

Good Morning,

Donna, I was also wondering about your dad needing you full time. Doesn't he stay in Florida in the summer when you are gone?

Glad the Florida sickies are feeling better. Not fun.

BJ, Carolb will get a ride in the next couple of weeks. I think she changed her mind about riding as we had planned a day road trip when we were together last month, but weather was too cold.

Busy day here yesterday with projects. For $85 I have a new Shurflo water pump!! Woohoo!! New roller shade is up on back window (kept thinking I had ordered a blind). 3 preventative measures installed on the Slingshot. Finally took the man for a ride who had knocked on my door a few weeks ago. Now I have to get packed up in here and then take care of tanks. I'm sure L is ready to roll!! My stop at the Q will be relatively short today as I drop of the SS and then we head to Havasu.

Have a good day all and safe travels!

BJ, thanks for worrying about our ear health. If you look at the one picture you can see the back of Liz's head and the attractive sound suppressing ear phones she is wearing. The ranger gentleman carries two with him for when he "picks up" grey haired ladies and offers them a rise in his boat. "Hey, you want to see my lake?" :o ( I remember similar come ones from college....right?)

And when I double checked with Liz, she said he was with Florida Fish and Wildlife......I knew he was government but was too lazy to check with Liz before posting. Man in fast boat was enough for me!

No my dad can stay alone...just need some one to check on him
he doesn't want to do anything but sit around and sleep...he wont eat right ..even when
I cook...(we do not eat the same kind of food) he is a meat and potatoes man..
but all that said there is more I could go on... ..he is very very frail...uses a cane and balance is not good at all..he is sharp as a tack...no problems with his mind...I am not sure how I can go to Pa this summer...wait and see game...I was planning on a bunch of small GTG this winter ...going to visit like to Ocala .. St. Cloud..and where ever everyone was..that would make short trips and doable with my dad...but gezzzz my own health issues put a monkey wrench in that...so here I sit...now I want to ...(as soon as PT is over with and back is better I have faith it will be then I can get out and about)...so that's most of the story for now...

Still cloudy and windy here on Florida east coast but supposed to have some sun tomorrow. Need to take out two days of trash so may bundle up and try for short beach walk. Need to wash salt off windshield so i can see out better, but another lazy day waiting for weather to get better. Planning to drive to Fort Maransas national park on Saturday and do some sightseeing. Semester just started so nothing to grade until next week, also, so I am a little bored. May do some reading.

It is cloudy and warm today. Will be in the 30's for the next few days which will be very nice!

Heading out shortly for our care conference at the nursing home. I am really dreading it! I talked to the social worker yesterday and I guess she told him he is not going home on the 18th, like he has been telling everyone. He went into a rage (she used the word "violent") and told her that no one is keeping him from leaving! I hope things don't get out of control today. I am really getting worn down from all this.

Have a fun day at the GTG's and elsewhere. :D

Morning long gone here.
I agree with BJ… man in most any boat would do.
Sorry about problem with your dad, Barb.
Donna, hang in there; it will get better.
Another cold grey day here but I don't have to go out. Good thing as I looked out around 11:00 and it was snowing hard. Kept that up for about 3 hours, enough to turn ground white tho temp was a little above freezing. It has stopped now and most melted. My kind of snow - gone.
I've got pork chops cooking in the crock pot - yes, the directions Liz posted but a smaller quantity this time.
Not much else going on beyond routine stuff.
Roumer has it that we might see a little sun tomorrow. I'm so ready for sunshine and temps that don't fall below 55.

Things are looking up a bit here.

The care conference actually went pretty well. I think my dad realized he was way outnumbered by the three of us and 6 staff members, so he was being very reasonable. They said he is doing very well physically with his PT but mentally he is not doing well at all. He has major short term memory issues so they really don't think he should go back home unless he has almost constant home care available (which he can't afford nor would he agree to). My dad has agreed to stay there for another two weeks at least. He does seem to like it there with not having to worry about money, meals, etc. Now if we can get him convinced to sell the house...his bills add up to more money than he brings in, especially without the rent money now. We will also have to figure out how we can legally keep him from going home.

I just got home and checked my mail and there was a check from my Minnesota health insurance agency. Not sure why they sent me a pretty nice sized check. I will call them tomorrow and find out. Want to know what the reason is before I cash it. (I knew I should have bought a lottery ticket today! Maybe there is time to go get one yet. Might be my lucky day!)

I really don't like Target. I got a Target gift card for Christmas and I spent over an hour there today trying to find something to spend it on, and ended up with just a new pillow. Just don't like any of their merchandise. But I did need a new pillow so that will work. Now, Walmart would have been a whole 'nother story!

I checked out a fitness center near me today (Anytime Fitness) and I might join it. It is pretty affordable and has a lot to offer and I really want to get in better shape before summer, so I think I will sign up for their "free week" trial and see how I like it.
