Pics from Port Aransas

Well, since we couldn't go see Elvis we drove around Port Aransas yesterday and Sparkle found a shrimp boat selling fresh shrimp on the wharf. I'm not a great seafood lover but have to say Sparkle did a bangup job of cooking them. The weather has finally cleared and the sun was out.

Here's my rig on the ferry. If anyone two years ago had told me I'd be taking my rig on a ferry, I would have told them they were crazy. I had almost the entire side of the ferry.

The pelicans are so tame you can almost walk right up to them. Apparently they hang around the fishermen waiting for them to throw scraps to them.

Here we all are standing in line to buy fresh shrimp. The boat had just come in when we got there.

Here's the woman weighing the shrimp. $4.00 a pound - better than the market.

Here are Carole and Sparkle cleaning the shrimp - yuck!! I DON'T CLEAN FISH!!

Thanks for getting us up to date on the Port A crowd. I'm with Liz, when is dinner? Haven't had any good shrimp all winter.

Carol, I've sent you an email with the park name and phone number.

And, oh, that shrimp sure was tasty!

Nah, it's just that with us three talkers we need someone quiet so we have an audience! :D

Yep, I can verify that you three are all big talkers.... ;) And with no "adult" supervision, bet it's a "free for all" there....

Love you guys!!!

Sparkle does have a quite side - like her face, she just doesn't show it often.
I imagine in that group of ladies, some "adult" supervision might be in order at times. Maybe they could take turns, kinda like having a designated driver when you go partying

Wasn't that ferry fun, Karen? Beth had to actually take me over the ferry and point out a big tour bus coming off of it to convince me that yes, Hope would indeed fit on it! It was quite an experience to have a guy guide me on and the only thing I could see was his hand in the front window. Took a lot of guts for me to trust him not to send me off the front side! Really strange to feel me moving with the engine turned off.

Those shrimp look fabulous! Beth, Evie and I went looking for seafood for me and we found NOTHING! Oh well, maybe next time. Like I said before, you guys are having just way to much fun.
