If any of you going to Quartzite run into Western GM club members who may be wearing jackets with a Greyhound on the back, tell them Hi for us. We would be with them if we could as we know most of them and have been to club rallies. My very good friend Lynn will be there but mostly will be around the bus's because she had total hip just two months ago and is still building strength. have a great time. Just tell them you know Velda, Mel and their red white and blue 4905.

I am so excited I checked the forum. I have to read all the replies to this topic however, I am in Quartzsite now and will be until the 30th. I will be at the Havasu Ballon Fest and then will cone back here. I am staying at Silly Al's until the 24th and then will move to one of the 14 day areas until the end of the month because I do not want to drive in everyday.

I hope I can meet up with most of you.

happytrails wrote:I'll be there with bells on! So excited to finally meet some of you gals. I will be coming to Q on the 16th with some friends from Sun City. They are traveling with their RV club. They are staying until the 16th then I plan on moving over to where you "Forum" girls are staying. This will be my first time to Az., Quartzsite and boondocking for an extended period of time. I have a few questions. Is it windy there or can u put your awning up without difficulty? Is the ground really hard and difficult to drive stakes in (thinkng about a small gazebo). I haven't cooked in my RV( due to close quarters) but usually have my campstove which I could cook on outside or use the microwave. Are there places to shower (trying to conserve water). Are there places to refill your water tank and dump your black tank? I am planning on joining an Escapees group around the 21st so if I stick to all of these plans I may be out there for 10 days (in different spots). Please provide directions to where you will be parked...I think I saw something about a place called South La Posa.

Pamela

I will try and answer some of your questions, sometimes, yes ...sorta sometimes, yes yes yes
very clear huh???
it can be windy with gusts you can put out your awning although a lot of people pull them in if not going to be home or unless they really tie them down well..
some put up gazebo's and don't have a problem but again they have to been tethered really well I have one still in the box why? cause I've not figured out where to put it.
The Laundromat in town has showers 7.00
we are located in North LaPosa in South LaPosa about 3 miles away is located water and dumps either to drive to or to blue boy there is also a honey wagon 25 dollars a pump from what I remember oh and I see a truck that delivers water don't know anything about them
go South on 95 towards Yuma take the first left you will pass the entrance booth keep going right now you are on pavement you will go through a small wash pavement ends about there..on your right you will see a rig with tents and a sign that says pot luck 4:00 Thurs...ahead are the dumpsters
just past the pot luck area is a road to the right if you look on the drivers side you will see a sign with a bear and cardinal name Boyd on it
follow the road go through a smaller wash or dip sign road to nowhere it's yellow
follow the road keep going about 1/2 mile not quite from my rig to the dumpsters is 1/2 mile you will see a another bear sign and another yellow sign saying middle of nowhere pop ? follow the road I am in the Challenger 5th wheel Pattie is in the motor home closer to the road you will get used to the loose term of road...you are now on a drive way  Kerry is in the GMC if you need more help with the directions let me know

Yay, Louise, I look forward meeting you. For $40 you can stay two weeks in the long term area near Sheila. That's what I'll do so more of us can be together. Otherwise you can come visit. And if you pay, you have access you the water and dump without paying extra.

I am so happy that I will finally meet you guys. I had a great time in Florida at the gtg last winter.

The reason I am at Silly Al's right now is that I can walk under the road to the big tent and will not have to drive in. This is dry camping but worth it for me to not have to fight the traffic. I will come to visit and will then move out to join you.

Well, Louise, that is a shocker to know you are in the area!! I had just been wondering about you and am so glad you will be joining us at the GTG!! I think you could probably talk one of us into driving you back and forth to your rig some days. :)

And, Lyn, more great news - I had been hoping!!

Wow, just a few more days!!

Louise, it's so good to see you check in. I have tried to keep track of your blog to see what you are up to. It will be fun to hear of your visit with the group. Sure wish I could be there.

I had a pretty bad week last week. Managed to bang my head on the shower door on Monday causing a huge knot on my forehead. Went to jury duty anyway and got very sick on the way home. Had to call my daughter, which was hard considering the problems I've had with her lately, and ended up spending 6+ hours in emergency. I missed the last day of testimony on Tuesday in the jury trial so they excused me from further service this year. So, yesterday the pups and I took off, stopped in Mojave last night, and made it to Q today. Have seen Sheila and PattyK so far. Can't wait to see everyone.

Wish you hadn't experienced traumatic brain injury in order to get to go to Q, but it was a well deserved silver lining for your good intentions. Nice that your daughter answered the phone and you got supported in your emergency.

Now go off and have some fun in the desert.

You got it right Tina. It's worth a traumatic brain injury just to get to Q. And you hit it right on the button regarding my daughter answering the phone. She was none too happy to not get back home 'til 4:00 am. I don't think she remembers all the nights I spent up with her at various times. It was payback time  . I'm still dragging a little, but hope in a couple days all will be OK. Gonna be fun seeing everyone and meeting new people.
