Power Out and Big Move

Woke up this AM to no power and icicles hanging off the roof. I was pretty much okay with it until I remembered - NO COFFEE!!!!So here I sit in my rig coffee brewed. toast in toaster and on the computer. Life is sweet. What do people do that don't have their rigs as backup????

Looks like I will definitely be moving within the next six months. My son-in-law got a new job, more money and more territory and it requires him to be closer to Dallas/Ft Worth area so they found 36 acres with a cute house in Athens, TX. I actually like that area; its got lots of trees and is pretty. As soon as they sell their house, close on their new one, and get moved in then I will put my mobile up for sale. Will then buy a small 1 bdr/1bath and put it on their property. Makes my daughter happy cause she can keep an eye on me and makes me happy cause there's someone to watch my place when I travel. Kind of puts the stop to my bug Spring trip. Maybe a Fall trip???? Okay, all of you look at your maps and tell me who will be closer to me so I can come visit or vice versa.

Sounds like you think the move will be a good thing; glad you are satisfied with the idea.

I looked up Athens, TX - it is named after a town about 25 miles from me.
"The city also calls itself the "Black-Eyed Pea Capital of the World." Athens was selected as one of the first 'Certified Retirement Communities' in Texas. It was named after Athens, Alabama by one of the early residents who came from there.)

Better yet, it is about 800 miles from here and a relatively good looking route without having to go thru any really big cities. Visits or meeting somewhere in between a good possibility.

Athens sounds better than Oklahoma to me. I have been through there many times going to Dallas. I usually headed out across East Texas because I would pick up my mother up in DeRidder. It's rolling hills. Having someone to watch your place would be a big plus.

Lyn, I did check out park models. One that I would have wanted was around $45,000. Getting a bigger, one bdr-one bath with the options that I want for just under $35,000. Guess they're building the park models out of gold these days.
