The Escapees Park I'm at now - laundry $1 to wash, 75 cents to dry. Love it.
OK, love that I can change plans on a dime. Wasn't sure if I'd even end up at Q
, but that should be happening on schedule. My friends that I spent Christmas with called and need help. Maurine can't stay alone (she's had a stroke which she has pretty much recovered from, but also has mobility problems, etc). Normally her husband is her care-taker, but now he's been hospitalized, and even if home, has been told he can't for now, resume that role. Maurine has moved in with her daughter, Pam, for now. Pam has a trip planned and even though she has gotten some assistance coming in, wasn't finding the help she needed - and that's where I come in. I did scrambling and the Escapee's park in Casa Grande is going to let me park in the boondock area for a week (at the normal boondocking rate) but leave the rig there. I had to find someplace where I would feel safe about leaving the rig - and not too terribly far. So, I'll be leaving Benson before my month is up Wed and dropping the rig off - then Peaches and I will head up to Phoenix and be caregivers for the week Pam is gone. Maurine is like a 2nd mother to me - so it'll be good to spend the time with her and it's so wonderful to have a lifestyle that allows me to do this.
Maurine and her husband are on a list to get into an assisted living facility - but so far, the space hasn't opened up, and that's the place they want to get into. Because Eddie could do more, they didn't find it important to get right in - ah, things change on a dime in all directions, eh? Hopefully that'll happen soon and then her visits to Pam's can be planned like Christmas was.
Then I'll head back to Casa Grande, get my home and probably go straight to Q - as they are pushing the rules to let me leave the rig unattended, so I'm not going to ask for them to push them further and extend my stay - although, you never know!
