Wednesday…frigid?

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday…frigid?

Postby Liz » Wed Jan 07, 2015 8:52 am

Frigid for some, but just chilly here in central Florida.
There's a mini gtg underway at Silver Springs SP. Irmi, CArol, Tina and I visited Judy JB at the cg yesterday…I posted a few pics in the gtg thread. Today we will be back to kayak the river. It should be perfect weather…sunny and cool, about 65 degrees.

I know the big story is the extreme cold, and we will get some of that tonight and tomorrow, with freeze warnings for tonight. But being Florida, it will warm back up by the weekend. I can live with that.

Hope everyone stays warm today.

Morning Liz and all. Yes, pretty darn cold in Hohenwald, TN this morning too. 28 according to my weather station. Will be in the single digits tonight. Yikes! Why am I still here? Oh yeah, dear SIL who is progressing along slowly. Looks like I could be back on schedule next week. He is feeling stronger every day. He will not like the cold as it keeps him inside. Guess we will go to the church building and walk inside for a few days. Friday is doctor appointments day which they don't need me for so I will be going off geocaching with a friend. In the low 40s by then so not a heat wave but warmer. Wishing I was back in southern New Mexico right now.

Good morning! Guess the rest of the back east gals are sleeping in this morning if this west coast gal can beat them to a hello shout! I'm waiting impatiently for daylight so I can leave for the FMCA Rally in Indio, CA. It's 42 degrees out right now at 6:45, but expected to get into high 70's - Yippee! Hoping I get assigned a spot where I don't have to walk too far to the seminars, sales, etc.

Have a great day, everyone.

G'morning Liz, HS ( why don't I know your name?), and all to follow:)

Nice to see you open MC, Liz. Quite a nice spontaneous gtg with many there in FL:) Sarah n BJ, hope you both get those dental issues resolved. Barbie, how is dad? Martha, didn't realize you're getting set for cataract surgery.

Poor Anita;) Have fun on your first real road trip in the SS! Aren't you thrilled that we finally have some warm temps here in AZ! I spent almost 4 hrs at the dog park yesterday. Had the place to ourselves most of the time, but a good crowd started arriving around 3:00, so my poops had friends for the last hour:)

Off to park this a.m., then grocery shopping with Molly. Y'all have a great day, be safe always! And those in the polar blast, stay warm:) Hello Pooker, who snuck in before me ;)

Frigid is right!!! It is somewhere in the teens this AM headed down all day to 0 tonight with winds 10-20 MPH!! This too shall pass...

Thinking of Sarah this morning and hoping all goes well with her dental appointment. When I went to the dentist yesterday he couldn't find any cause for the pain I have been having so said to go ahead with the acupuncture for now. I have an appointment this afternoons so will be bundling up and heading out. Thankfully it is only a few steps from her parking lot to her door so won't have to be outside long.

Have a lady coming for hypnosis this morning to stop smoking so I need to get everyone fed and myself ready. Would like to be in Florida at the mini GTG! You all have extra fun for the rest of us and send a little sun up this way!

Good morning.
I'm off to see the oral surgeon shortly. No one to take me but I do have a ride home if needed. Not real sure what to elect but my dentist is hoping he will go ahead and remove tooth rather than waiting for swelling to go down. I just hope he has small hands. The swelling has removed the wrinkles from that side of my face but I cannot recommend it as a wrinkle remover.
Have a good day. I'll check back in later.

Good Morning!

So sorry I picked the wrong winter to be in Florida and missing the mini-GTG! Not that last year wasn't good!! Sarah, what a relief it will be to have that tooth taken care of. BJ, I'm not fond of not knowing why something hurts! Evie, enjoy the rally. Carolb, gotta love this weather!! So glad my buddies are getting out to run!

Trip yesterday was great. Today we'll go farther - down to Yuma. Drove on the freeway for the first time - nice that it wasn't crowded and not too many idiots. One guy followed me for a bit and then passed - he was holding his phone up at the review mirror level to take a photo after he went around me!! Geez.

Make the most of your day - got several reminders yesterday that life isn't to be taken for granted.

I updated the Michigan GTG for Frankenmuth, MI. I think everyone will enjoy this small town and the Christmas shops and restaurants. Anyone who wants to continue farther north can drive up on their own.

Getting my nerve up to go kayaking with Liz, etc. Big concern is getting in and out, and also losing my camera! I am also a terrible swimmer. Bit chilly here in Silver Springs, but I do like the cold nights for sleeping.

Wish me luck!

Good Morning ladies... sounds like a nice GTG in Fl... fun ladies and fun things to do... Judy that is a great place to have a summer GTG... not sure what spring will bring for me yet...

My daughter Jackie just got out of surgery on her knee... this is the second one now she should be good as new... my granddaughter Meenna is there with her for a few days then she will have to have someone come in to help... she is not in contact with her sister Gwen after all of the mess... she has a ppo on Gwen... guess they give those out like candy in Michigan... geeeze...

We weathered the cold so far... poor Shadow goes out and does his business and right back in he comes... lol... normally he plays around sniffing every blade of grass...

Oh Sarah hope they take the tooth or do something to stop the pain... BJ have they ever considered that you might have TMJ? a friend of mine in Mi has that and it is painful... HorizonSeeker I do not know your first name either... I did look at your blog love the pictures... they tell the story so nicely!! Carolb so fun to have playmates for your poopers... Shadow loves the dog park but sadly we do not get there very often... my granddaughter Ameera said they charge a fee for the dog park in Caladonia, Mi... guess that puts the bill on those that use it instead of all of the tax payers...

enough from this part of the frigid city of Normal... stay safe and warm please... turn up the furnace a notch or two...

Good morning ladies
its a day to take a deep breath and let it out, my friend Jon is off to a job interview, and last night Scout got adopted.
His first showing and it went well. Had some interest in the motorcycle, one guy made an offer but thats in reserve in case the other interested parties decide no. Gave Jon a haircut last night, can you imagine him asking me if I could manage it?....DUH, I only did it for 10 years! I think we've got this.
The weather has been great these last couple days, warms up nicely in the afternoon.
Off to enjoy a nice afternoon nap before going back to work. Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

The freeze hasn't gotten here yet but it's coming. I need to get myself together and get to Lafayette to see about my son's trailer. If something happens and he doesn't make it back today I don't want to have to go tonight. I need to get some plastic to put on the frame I built for my orange tree or maybe a trouble light to put with it. One of the ladies in Natchitoches had a big container of lemons she got off her tree. They were so good. Now I want a lemon tree but do I want 2 trees to worry about.

Judy, the kayakers probably have a life jacket you can wear. They will take care of you. I wish I could be there hanging out with you all. Or in Arizona with the ones over there. One of these years.

Anita, I guess you will have "Show and Tell" everywhere you go. Just hope the idiots don't cause an accident.

Yes, Carolb, my cataract surgery is scheduled for the 27th. Now I'm worried about not catching anything before then. I want to go to my sister's but they are always sick. I will miss the first Louisiana campout of the year. It's in North Louisiana so if the weather was bad I wouldn't go anyway. I am so ready to so somewhere.

Made it home about an hour ago. Four hours in dentist chair but tooth gone. Had to do it with local instead of sedation because no one in waiting room (my friend who would have picked me up was not available to come wait today and I did not want to reschedule). Pretty miserable right now but should be okay within 24 hours. Have to try to sleep sitting up to reduce bleeding risks; besides I don't think I could stand the strap for APAP mask across face now. Just a few stitches (3 I think); no complications getting tooth out other than very difficult to control pain.
Current plan: stay as still as I can and only open door enough to let Nicky in and out next couple days - it is bitter out and snowing lightly on the way home. Thank goodness for the fenced back yard so I don't have to walk Nicky. We have everything we need as long as the power grid doesn't get overloaded so just hunkering down to wait it out.

Cold up here in MN! The windchills last night were pushing -40 below so a lot of the schools were closed today. I am staying toasty here at home today. Cleaning house and getting some other things done.

My dad is doing OK but still gets very confused at times about where he is and what is going on. I will go see him tomorrow morning before I go to work.

Glad you gals in Florida are having a fun GTG! Sure wish I could go kayaking right now! Those of you in AZ will be getting together in a couple weeks and having fun there! Anita is already having fun!

Ava, glad some things there are starting to fall into place.

I had TMJ many years ago and had to get my teeth and bite realigned to fix it. My jaw would lock up overnight from grinding my teeth all night. I still grind my teeth all night and all day too. Stress!!! I bought a mouth guard kit but haven't molded it to my teeth yet. Need to do that soon! My old mouth guards wore out or don't fit right anymore.

Have a great day! :D

Oh Sarah, I'm so glad the tooth is out. I know they have rules, but it seems so silly that they wouldn't give you sedation when you had someone coming to pick you up. I hope you feel better soon!
I just got back from acupuncture for the pain in my jaw or mouth and I sure hope it takes care of it. The dentist and the acupuncture doctor both think it is a problem with a nerve, not a tooth or TMJ. I just want whatever it is to go away!
I am feeling much warmer since I read that Barbie has wind chills of -40 and we are only a measly -5 :D :D

So glad that tooth is out Sarah! Hope the next few days go by quick and you are soon pain free.
Anita I wonder what that idiot with the phone was thinking ! Sheesh glad you are ok. You know that is an eye catcher!
Warm here today, nearly 70. Had a visit today with the Dr who did hubby's face radiation and complained once again that though we ask for physical therapy it never seems to happen and now we are getting busy next week with the prostate radiation. I'm going to have a busy spring.
Have a good evening all.
