The Day after Christmas

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

The Day after Christmas

Postby Colliemom » Fri Dec 26, 2014 7:51 am

Good Morning everyone,

Well, here we are, the day after Christmas. Hope you all had a wonderful day regardless of what you were doing or where you were. It was a wonderful day here as well compliments of Mother Nature. It is not often that we are blessed with one of those "I'm Dreaming of A white Christmas, where treetops glisten" type Christmases. I was like walking in a fairyland Perhaps the words to Winter Wonderland would have been great too. We received a 5 inch snowfall on Tuesday night into Christmas Eve morning and everything in sight was coated in white. Too bad the sun hadn't come out, it would have been spectacular. And of course pictures never do justice. And Photobucket of late is leaving a lot to be desired.

Molly and I had a great day enjoying time with ourselves as well as being outside. She loves to romp in the snow.
Then later the owners of this resort who have been come friends, invited me over for some munchies and conversation. So it was a nice relaxing day.

Hope you all received whatever you were wishing for, for Christmas. BJ I know, did and Anita and I bought our Christmas presents ahead of time. Her Slingshot and my Molly.

So here's hoping you all have a nice day today and maybe some of you are still celebrating. Have fun.

Good morning Sue & everyone!

Sue, the pictures you posted are so pretty! That's neat that Molly is having such a good time playing in the snow and that you were able to spend time with the owners for some munchies and a visit. I'm looking forward to hearing of your continued adventures on this trip.

Seven of us got together yesterday and shared a mid afternoon Christmas meal. The weather was perfect and we got to sit outside at picnic tables to enjoy the food and fellowship. Everything was delicious and there were lots of leftovers, so I may not have to do any cooking today.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas celebration and for those dealing with family situations, please take care of yourselves. Have a good day everyone.

It's a bright and sunny morning here. The first thing Andy wanted was his Christmas toy. I put it up last night when he went to bed to keep it safe from Mitzi. It was so funny yesterday when we opened our presents, I looked down and Andy was right beside me his little ears perked up waiting patiently for his. After having dogs for so many years I still am amazed sometimes at how smart they are. We had all my favorite foods at Christmas dinner and later in the evening walked down the street to neighbors for drinks and snacks. So the much dreaded day passed and I actually enjoyed it.
Sue your pictures are beautiful but I'm so glad all that snow isn't here. Donna, I surprised you found any restaurants open, there was only one Chinese place open here. I never go out on holidays it is just too busy and service/food is compromised as the servers and cooks are overwhelmed. Irmi, I'm glad the weather cooperated, it sounds like you had a lovely day.
Got to get busy around here and walk off some of the calories from all the turkey and dressing (stuffing) I ate yesterday.

Yesterday we had lots of snow flurries which was nice to finally see for Christmas. Just cloudy today (again).

Went to my brother's yesterday afternoon for roast beef dinner which is my favorite, so that was wonderful. I guess the Christmas Eve activities there were pretty subdued and tense after I left with my dad in the ambulance.

My dad is doing OK but still having some difficulty with talking and coordination but more lucid. He had a restless night last night so they had someone staying in the room with him until he fell asleep. I will check back on him later this after noon. Unfortunately, the hospital he is at is about an hour away from here and in a very bad neighborhood (south Minneapolis), so I am not willing to go down there after dark by myself.

I am off to work here soon. Have a great day relaxing, shopping, eating leftovers, or whatever you have planned!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

good morning ladies
I feel blessed, its been a surprisingly wonderful holiday season.
Got my back yard back yesterday, now I can just let the dogs out without leashes. We moved the camper and pulled the
cargo trailer up to get the motorcycle out and dusted off. Some guy is suppose to come and look at it today. Hope it sells.
Got my medical tests back on my arm and shoulder, osteoarthritis and need to go see the specialist. I've had mild arthritis
over the years but I never knew arthritis could hurt this bad, makes my arm feel like its broke. Guess its just a little bump
in the road of life.
Plans for today...swapping out my dinnette set for a table thats a tad bigger. 4" longer and 6" wider. Will give me more
room for the new printer I got for Christmas.
Not much else going on in my end of the world, but we're predicted some freezing temps to come in for tonight,
not used to that, but I have two full tanks of propane and we'll turn the water off and unhook the hose.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Finicky Southern California weather - day before yesterday it was 76-78 degrees here. This morning it was 36 when I went out for the paper. High only scheduled to be high 40's, low 50's. So if you were thinking about coming to So. Cal to go to the beach, I'd rethink that idea!

Had a pretty good day yesterday. Oldest and youngest sons came for dinner and I got to talk to the middle one, who is back east, on the phone. No word from either grand, but I expected that.

Now to hit the ground running to get ready for 2015 trips!

Good morning everyone,
A little late, but I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.
Looks like there were a few unexpected issues (Barb & Lyn) -I hope things even out for both of you & anyone else experiencing health issues or loneliness at this time of year.

Sue, LOVE your pictures! They are beautiful - the perfect white Christmas. Thanks for sharing them with us.

I had a full house - the kids from Cali were here nearly a week. It was tough squeezing in a year's worth of dinners that I wanted to fix for them - along with going to a couple of favorites places - like my nephew's for barbecue! :D My son & granddaughter who live here will have plenty of left overs to take home. My daughter from Texas didn't make it but we video-chatted with them a few times. Gaby is here until Sunday - I'm glad we'll have some quiet time together. Got out the big van to take everyone out for a tour of Christmas lights - we fit 11 people comfortably & had a great time. They think I could earn some money with the other limos touring the city. Took it back to the caves this morning & enjoyed a beautiful sunrise & great music - felt like I was on a mini-roadtrip. :D

I loved having Carolb here before the kids came - I've said it before & I'll say it again -she is the angel of this group - spreading cheer to all she encounters. I hope she's enjoying her time with Anita & future adventures.

Well, I'm going to go back & try to catch up on what's happening here.

I hope each of you enjoy the beauty of this season...

G'morning all! :)

Oh, Catherine, you're too kind  This "angel" didn't even get around to wishing all my MC family a Merry Christmas yesterday  I got lost in the serenity of the desert, being alone with the poopers, reminiscing (good things)...then packed up for the drive to be with Anita!!!! OMy, we had so much catching up to do! She's my "info" person, since I rarely stray from MC

Sue, great pix! Soos (if you ever get on here again ;) ) congrats on the soon-to-be gd... So sorry for your Dad, Barb. Lyn, will also keep your sonIL in my prayers...

Hanging out with Anita (you still sleeping?) for a few days here in Q, then I've talked myself into following her to Salome to ride in her new toy  Nice to not have a schedule...

Y'all have a great day, watch those after Cmas shopping mobs, & be safe always 8-)

Good Morning!

Looks and sounds like a good Christmas was had by all tho sure thinking of Lyn. Barbie, thanks for report on your dad and continued good thoughts.

Carolb and I talked a mile a minute catching up yesterday afternoon! :o. So good to be together even if it is cold!

My older daughter kept me in touch yesterday with videos along with multiple emails and photos. I talked with those 3 grands. Younger daughter sent a nice email last night. Also called my aunt in Kansas.

Now on to the new year!

Wondered where you were, Carolb since I know you have probably been up for hours!
