refrigerator too cold

looked at the thermometer for my refrigerator said 12 yikes yep lots froze or freezing
so what do I check and or do?

First check that somehow you didn't change the setting to coldest. (I just had to change mine from 3 (standard) down to 2). Then check that the gauge that controls the fridge didn't get knocked out of place. Beyond that, I'm not sure why it would be colder.
