Saturday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Sat Dec 06, 2014 7:30 am

Good Morning everyone,

Thought I had better check in and say hi. Been lurking in the background but haven't posted. Nothing new here. Same old, same old.

Was really happy to read Liz's post on FB that CArol got her drivers license. What a great Christmas present! I know she is going to want to get out on the road and keep going. The rest of us will have to be careful with her on the loose again

One week from today, I too will be on the road. Bringing the "new fur kid on the block" home. Hard to believe that 8 weeks have almost gone by since she was born. Will be going down a couple of days early to stay with friend and will be going down to Shipshewana next Friday with her and one of her friends. Should be fun time. They also have doctors appts. there.

Cheryl, so sorry to hear about your sister. She is now in a better place and prayers to you and the family.

Timto get a move on here. Things to do this morning. Y'all have a wonderful day out there ;)

Good morning Sue & all who follow,

Been up for quite a while this morning... lots to do as the Cali kids arrive in 2 weeks - but so far just drinking coffee & surfing the net...

Can't wait to see more pics of Molly, Sue. You must be so excited to bring this baby home.
CArol, love that you got your license to roam again... nothing to hold you back now. :D
Barb, that is one cool kayak - you are going to love it! And yes, that will make for a very long winter.
Carolb, can't wait to see you. Enjoy the fam & then come on over! Sadie is excited to see the poopers too. ;)
Donna, glad you're feeling better & out camping for a couple of days.
Beth, glad you've made it a warmer spot. Go ahead & spoil yourself - watch TV all week! while surfing the net on their dime. :D
Kathy, there's not much more exciting than a new fridge (except maybe a new puppy) - enjoy!
Karen, tough decision - as the others have said - do what feels right to you... you can always change your mind later.

So happy to know you are all here...
Hope everyone stays safe & warm.

Good Mornin' Sue (Catherine) who snuck in) & all that follow~~~

Getting excited huh Sue :D I think I see lots of puppy firsts for you.

Sorry to read about a move decision Karen and the cancelling of your Spring trip. I say don't rush with a decision. You've built yourself a home where you are now, and even without being able to see DD & GD a lot, it's been your home now for a while. Don't uproot yourself right away. See what happens first. You may decide to park yourself somewhere else too and can always see them when visits would be easier time wise for everyone.

And Carol's on the road! Poor Liz having to keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't go crazy with the new found freedom.

Many thanks and (((hugs))) to all of you for all the prayers for my sister :( . Plans have been made and now just waiting for Dad to get back from Florida. I appreciate that you ladies understand and apologize to Carol for hijacking her thread the other day

Have a good day everyone and stay safe.

G'morning all :)

Lots of good news lately--CArol's freedom, Sue's pup, Beth's cousin, etc...but Cheryl, sooooo sorry about the sudden loss of your sister  ...

For me, duh! Realized I'm not on a schedule, so am staying at bro's this wkend, going to Catherine's on Monday:) SIL hasn't put up a Cmas tree for ages, but decided to do so this year, so I get to help! I'm excited to participate in some of the typical Cmas traditions. We'll have a Cmas dinner on Sunday, then I'll be on my way.

Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

good morning ladies, wow, it has certainly been a long time and I've tried to check in and cruise through a few posts here and there but its doubtful will ever catch up but moving on from here. So glad Carol got her license back.
So....making that whirlwind trip to save my friend....my ex husband Jon, got everything stowed in my yard, and believe me, its packed tight and poor dogs don't have their yard anymore but we'll get that back in a week or two when the neighbors
move on to their new house. Jon is doing very well, spent 4 days in the hospital and now recuperating here with me. He improves every day. Yesterday, got home from work and he was actually showered and dressed, and we went for a walk
about the area, showed him the clubhouse and everything we have to offer here. Hope to get him back to work in a couple
weeks as he'll be out of funds very soon. However, he has his motorcycle up for sale and good chance of selling that in AZ.
I've very happy to have him here, and yes, we are a couple again. We have both grown
over our years apart and now he's looking forward to living in "my world". Will probably do Quartzite with the camper and
spend the night, we talked about it, if not, we'll use the jeep and just do the day trip.
This is going to be one very busy weekend for me, have 3 weeks of laundry to get done plus his, and then need to clean the
camper. His septic tank....well, hope its not ruined as when he was hooked up at KOA he thought he was supposed to leave
the valve open on the black tank. :o  Filled it with water before we left and put an enzyme in it. Today I'll take my
sewer hose over to his camper and start the process of cleaning it out and "teaching" him the proper way.
Beth...sorry not to have room in driveway right now but I see your still down in Tucson getting stuff done. Should have my driveway empty again soon and love to see you. If not, we'll certainly catch up in Q. Also looking forward to catching up with Anita in Q as I'd really like to talk about those trails she does cause now that I have a jeep.....well..... :D
Ya'll have a great day, be safe, and hoping ya'll have great weather.
Cheryl....sorry for the loss of your sister.

Wow! new puppy, new license, new boyfriend...everyone is gonna be having fun now! I have to wait for my fun with my new kayak, til spring, but at least I have that to look forward to! My friend, Steve, and I will go pick it up tomorrow with his truck and put it in my garage.

Nothing much else new here. Been warming up quite a bit. Today, sunny and 29, and 30's every day all next week, so that will be nice!

Discovered that my poor fishies were too cold so got them a heater yesterday and they are much more active and happy now! I trimmed their plants down so they have more room to swim around too.

Hope you all have a great day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good Morning,

Wow, skip a day and look at all that happens! Karen, really feel for you and the decision. Ava, what a happy ending! CArol, still feeling your excitement! Carolb, when are you ever going to get to AZ?! Beth, isn't it nice to be able to change plans when needed?

I overslept and need to be ready to run a couple errands in 45 minutes!

LeRoy and I made a trip to Lake Havasu on Wednesday. Those on FB already know that I bought a Polaris Slingshot SL - a 3-wheeled motorcycle that looks like a sports car (or a Bat Mobile). I had been waiting a month for them to get a demo model in so I could see it in person. Now I have to find a trailer to tow it behind the truck and camper. Then, LeRoy bought a new truck! We spent yesterday removing things - like the 5th wheel hitch brackets, wired components he had added, etc.

My plans to move south next Wednesday are on hold.

Here's a small photo of the Slingshot: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/imag ... VzG7tgEOQD

Hope you all have a good day. Cheryl, keeping your family in my prayers.

Sun is finally out after four days of fog! Yea! :D

Lots of repair and fix-it projects going on. First, I have one of those folding table shelf things I got from Camping World that I am trying to install where I had a magazine rack. I took the table off because it is too big to open because of my recliner, so will just use it as a place to put books and my drinks while I work. I might try to get someone to cut the table down to about a foot, but that is going to take a while. I needed screws so I went out to Lowes. Got a very small electric screwdriver/drill that was not too expensive. It is a complex job because I somehow have to use the same holes that were left when my dinette was taken out. That way, it will be attached to something secure instead of the usual flimsy RV wall!

Also, last week put in a new Oxygenics shower head and like it. Next, I have an appointment on Thursday an hour's drive away to get my recliner fixed. It has been stuck open for a month, and to replace it would cost a lot of money, so the $160 they are going to charge me for labor will be worth it for this 10 year old piece that fits me and is still otherwise in good condition.

And on the 16th I have an appointment to get a new water pump for my coach. I was going to pull the toilet and replace the gasket which is in really bad shape, but I am going to get them to do it, I think. Getting too old for all these things that have been falling apart, and I have been putting off getting repaired!

And this morning, AVA and I decided it was time to get Scout a permanent home. My brother has not contacted me for a month and is back is a psych hospital. I think the chances of him being able to take care of this dog are very slim. In addition, the dog needs someone who will walk him and give him an outdoor life, which my brother did not do because of his depression and disabilities. 1000 kudos to AVA for stepping in and taking care of Scout while she could!!! She knows someone who runs a rescue and believes he is very adoptable because he is so friendly.

Here is an interesting review on Anita's new toy.
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/16/autom ... .html?_r=0

Oh my golly, $24,000 for a motorcycle, but it does get upwards of 35 mpg. Lol
Have fun Anita but be careful in Tx as Polaris and the Tx DMV are having disagreements About licensing.
I watched a news piece last night where a local tv station is helping CHP gather toys and a Spyder club was there donating. All looked our age range and to be having a ball on their machines. Spyder is similar to Slingshot but a different brand and less agressive body lines.
Believe me they are tempting. I go by the local Spyder dealer on a street in town at least once a week and look longingly at their display models.

Well into afternoon, even here.

Wow, Ava, lots of news there - and no problem on the drive. I probably won't get to Phoenix and that area until after Q now. But, as you know, nothing is set in stone! Happy for you and hope things work out how you want them to.

Judy, I'd love to have a recliner, but where it would go is where the 1/2 of my dinette is - which is where the solar controller and stuff were installed. Would be too much work. Ah, should have been thinking about that in advance.

Wow, had my throw rug sitting outside - washed it and it had some odor I didn't like - so airing it out. Ha - noticed it felt windy (it's been overcast all day) and looked outside the window and I see it was starting to raining. Opened the door and it flew out of my hand. Luckily the rain JUST started, and the rug is damp, but not wet (would be in the time I'm typing this). I don't remember seeing any rain in today's forecast. Still thinking about heading into town, but might just continue being a tv junkie all day - and do that tomorrow. One day at a time.

Anita, I looked seriously at a scooter trike - but no longer want to not have the car - so ... I can't wait to see your new toy. Will you have it by the time we see each other at Q? It's so exciting.

Velda, Texas and a couple other states have words in their laws that I (along with others) expect will be changed. Texas requires 'straddling a saddle seat'; another state mentions handlebars.

Beth, I should have it at the Q GTG. I did read some reviews of those who have just taken possession of their Slingshots. Giving me food for thought about the quality of the construction - not the 'vehicle' itself.

I am hoping to drive it from Kansas to Wisconsin this summer. Only drawback might be rain, but motorcyclists do wear raingear - I just have no desire to! In the past few years, I have thought if Steven were still alive, we'd do some motorcycle traveling.

I googled and youtubed and there are a variety of 3 wheel trike motorcycles. It was fun watching Jay Leno drive the TRex which runs $50,000! That Spyder Can Am appeals to me, why did you choose the one you did. I'm curious. They do look fun. I had a friend in Reno who rode the side car of her husbands Honda Gold Wing from Reno to Boston Mass and back for her 50th HS reunion years ago. Sounded like such fun.

I like the side by side seating and the steering wheel. Would not consider the others.
