Mornin' Lori and all that follow ~~~

I've been a little AWOL lately, but have been keeping up with the posts to the best of my ability. Glad Carol is on her way south, that Ava is back home (what a sweetheart to help out a friend), but so sorry that Beth has lost a long time friend. I'm keeping everyone in my thoughts. Sounds (reads?) like most had a good Thanksgiving.

No Christmas shopping here any more, we are lucky if we (Mom, sister, BIL & cousin Rox) see each other for 3 hours. Used to like Christmas and now I don't even decorate. Sis was moved to a nursing home by the hospital. Call BIL & said they were moving here and he had no say in the matter. Needless to say, BIL & I went and checked out rehab places recommended and sis got moved on Friday. So we'll have to see what happens next. Would be nice if she doesn't have to spend here Bday (Christmas) in the hospital.

I'm back at work (bummer) so best get crackin. Have a good day everyone, and if you are on the road stay safe.

brrrr!! It dropped 40 degrees overnight  Yesterday it was close to 70 degrees which makes this mornings cold rain a bit hard to take!
Lori, I wish I was started on my Christmas shopping, I always have good intentions but they always get side tracked, mostly due to a total lack of Christmas spirit. It shouldn't be so hard as I have a very short list. My gift to myself was scheduling a massage for every week this month, guess it could also be considered a gift to DH too as hopefully it will help with my December mood.
Cheryl I hope your sister doesn't have to spend her birthday in the hospital and glad you found a rehab for her. Maybe next year you will get to put your decorations up. I just read an article, in the December Economist, "The World in 2015", that predicted the 9-5 work day would return. Another article was When Smart Becomes Spooky, regarding our phones turning into mind-readers by using technology called anticipatory computing or predictive intelligence which uses personal data in your smart phone to make timely suggestions. Like if you are running late for a meeting it will offer to e-mail the other attendees to say that you are on the way with a single tap, or if you are standing at a bus stop it will call up a timetable without being asked. It sounds creepy to me!!
I have a yoga class at 11:00 so I should get busy. Too bad there were no promises in the wondrous things coming in 2015, of technology doing chores.

Good morning gals,

I've been away a bit too, just super busy with the holiday sittings. No Thanksgiving for me and I really missed it. Put me in a real downer mood, but glad to say I have been able to pull myself out of it. My "thanks" is that the sits are now over (last visit was 9 o'clock last night) and I was able to sleep in this morning! I was planning on a girls weekend with Carrie the third weekend in Dec., but a client called and booked so that went by the wayside. Oh well, maybe it'll slow up some in January!

We are such a busy bunch on here I'll need to spend some time reading what all are up to. That will have to be later on today; this morning I'm going out to buy a new refrigerator. Mine seems to be on it's last legs and since it's almost 30 yrs. old probably should be replaced with a more efficient model.

Well, I'm off!

Camped for two weeks in one of my most absolutely favorite places--Fort Clinch State Park beach campground. I headed in when I parked yesterday, so the view out of my front and side windows is dunes and a couple of slivers of ocean. The boardwalk is just a hundred feet away and after about a 300' walk on that, you are on a beautiful, very empty Atlantic Ocean beach!

A lot of people skip this place because it is far north on the Florida Atlantic coast, almost into Georgia, but it is really one of the nicest campgrounds I know of. Very much away from anything else, especially things like high-rise hotels! It is on Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach, and I heartily recommend it. There are 21 RV-only sites and 4 tent sites around a central bath house, so it is not the usual huge and crowded campground. Washer and dryer here also so I am off to do a load of laundry in a bit. Then a long beach walk! Going to be here for a whole two weeks, so yea!!

AVA, I don't know how you did it, but glad everyone is safe. I am guessing you even drove all night coming back!

After my horrible time last week with my daughter and SIL, I managed to hurt my back trying to move a sectional by myself to the garage so I can donate it. Wednesday they'll be delivering a new reclining loveseat and reclining chair. I'll be able to recline wherever I want. With my RA seeming to get worse, a recliner will be very much appreciated. I know I shouldn't have tried to do this down multiple stairs, but my SIL said he wasn't sure he could help because his "back might hurt." I don't know where I went wrong. Then on Friday while walking my pups, Krissi lost her footing and stumbled into my feet causing me to fall face first. Thankfully it was on some oak leaves and not cement since I couldn't believe how hard my face slammed into the ground. So that hurt my back more and snapped my neck and several scratches on my forehead and nose. This is all on top of elbow tendinitis I've been struggling with for two months. I'm a mess!!! Sorry, not trying to bring you all down - just so frustrated with my daughter, her unfair accusations, and refusal to sit down and try to make our relationship better. All this pain seems to make everything worse.

I'm seriously considering starting my trip to Quartzsite before Christmas. I've never missed a Christmas with my daughter or grandchildren, but this may be the first year. Sorry, I'll stop my pity party.

Our phone line and internet was down all day yesterday. I hope it doesn't happen again because I made candy and cookies. AT & T is going to cause me to have a heart attack. They are more aggravating than DirecTv. I was trying to put in a repair order online on my Verizon tablet. I finally get into a live chat and after going through all their questions they can't find our information. She tells me that I must have an old number and not Uverse(what ever the hell that is) and she can't help me. She transfers me to someone that tells me to call the 800 number. Grrrrr Our cell phones just barely work at home. We finally find out all our neighbors are out of service too. It was a bad cable and I think everyone South of the Church must have been out.

I hope that cold front doesn't make it to us. It was 80 yesterday and will probably be that warm today. There is some rain in East Texas so that is probably headed our way.

Sandi, you are lucky you didn't break something. I think if my family couldn't be nice I would head out and spend Christmas with my friends.

I need to go get the slow leak in my tire fixed but don't feel like going to town. Also need to clean out the motorhome so I can leave Friday. I have been putting Christmas shopping in there and it needs to go somewhere else.

Sandy, get thee to Quartzite post haste. Your family will be fine if you're not there for Christmas. And who knows they might just miss you. Also, about gifts....wasn't that discussed before. Give a token family gift, maybe a special show or event and take off. That's my uncalled for advice, but it is given with love and concern for you. Big hug Peggy

Good Morning everyone... what a change in the temps here it is in the 20s today... after 57 yesterday... brace up for a cold winter...
My neighbor Cindy helped me break in my new Keurig this morning! Coffee was so good... wow am I lucky gal or what... and she bought over zucchini bread she had baked for her gentleman friend... it was very nice with the coffee...
Sandi how sad I am sending you a huge healing hug! You need one... Cheryl I hope your sis is able to be home for Christmas... Dan my son in laws brother has MS also... that is where I went for Thanksgiving dinner... it is a hard pill to swallow... those diseases take a toll on the body!
It seems like the holidays need to be packed up and forgotten for so many... there are plenty of hugs to go around to everyone...
Have a day full of surprises...

Sandi, big hugs to you and I totally agree with Peggy. Get thee out of there posthaste. I know Sheila can find things to keep you busy!

I have an appt with the RV dealer for Thursday. I'm going to be optimistic that they mean it when they say they'll take care of me so that I leave smiling. That said, I doubt they can do it in one day, so it may be the first of a few. All things they should have taken care of before I left last spring. Amazingly, I have very few, and minor, warranty issues.

Today I'll take the rig for a ride. Time to dump and fill water.

Well so much for good intentions, the freezing rain was coming down pretty hard when it was time to go to yoga so I exercised my fingers shopping. Found some really good deals but no Christmas presents were purchased except for me.
Sandi, Is there anyone you can hire to help you do heavy lifting or could you give a tip to whoever delivers your new chair, to move the couch out. I agree with the others, get on the road!! Stress will make all your issues worse and if you stay there for Christmas it doesn't sound like anyone will enjoy the occasion. Go have fun with your friends and send an Amazon gift card for the grand kids and nothing to the DD and SIL.

Sandi....sounds like you really need to get away so think seriously about getting going to Q. I also feel your frustration & disappointment with your family... I'm in the same boat. My daughter for whatever reason (have no clue) has stopped contacting me & though she & family called & wished me a happy birthday which took about a minute on the phone, she said I'm so busy right now I'll call you tomorrow.... well, she never did call. No card or call on Thanksgiving either, although she called other members of the family... I always walk on egg shells to avoid disagreements anyway, so this time I'm not making any effort to get in touch. It hurts a lot but I'm just too old to put myself through all the games....
If I could I'd head to Q also, even though I don't know anyone, just to get away and Christmas isn't going to mean anything anyway but have been having health problems for 6-7 months now so cannot drive....Ah well....things could be worst... at least (so far) I haven't fallen over Missy or the leash...Gawd, if I fell on my face ..... might be an improvement.....

Wow, Sandi, such physical and emotional wounds you have! You need to spend Christmas with people who appreciate you! Head south and don't look back!

Well, I am really disappointed...again!!! Got on-line just after midnight to order the kayak I've wanted. The ad said 25% off all merchandise and no shipping charge. So I get ready to check out and luckily looked at the total before finishing the transaction. The shipping charge was $231.00 minus $50. Apparently, the "free" shipping was only up to $50 worth (in fine print). So I cancelled the transaction. I decided that I could still get $30 off if I picked it up at the store, so checked to see which stores had the kayak in the color I wanted. Well, no kayaks (in my price range) at all (in any color) left in any of the stores around here (closest one was in Duluth). All sold out apparently on Black Friday! I went back to bed very disappointed!! Will have to wait until spring I guess and pay full price for the one I want. So, no trailer, no kayak, no trip to Q. Gonna be a really loooonnngg winter!

Spent most of the day with my dad at the doctors office for x-rays and bone scan. It was really cold today! Barely above zero with -20 windchill! Luckily, it will start warming back up tomorrow and be in the 30's again by the weekend. I can handle that!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
