Alice yea! the bus is back! I'd still say if your arm doesn't start feeling better soon, go see a doctor. Maybe some physical therapy would get it back to normal sooner rather than later.

Yes, it was a couple days of quick travels. Said g'bye to Kathleen , had an easy drive to see BJ Wonderful to visit with her, her DH (& he IS a Dear!), & her pups! Thanks for everything Kath & BJ...but, yes, poor Toby was not feeling his oats Glad to hear he's doing better BJ! And it was amazing to find that BJ knew/knew of my former inlaws long before I ever did!

So I'm at bro's in MO, with light snow falling this a.m. & finally getting online to catch up with y'all. That was a "quick change," Anita--from Polar bear country to the desert! Sue, are you keeping up with the snow? O'Sharon, glad to hear your snow blower was able to be repaired!

Good morning Cheryl, Carolb & everyone!

I, too, am so glad Judy's grandson doesn't have diabetes. Anita, now that you've got your bus back, I hope your arm quickly heals. CArol, your life will soon be getting back to normal. Sue, the count down is on for Molly coming home. How exciting! Anita, I can't wait to see some more of your pictures. Carolb is celebrating Thanksgiving with her brother before continuing her trip, wherever that may take her. BJ, I hope Toby continues to improve. It's so hard knowing what's going on with our four leggers.

It's been wet in Ocala since yesterday but it's supposed to clear this afternoon. The temperatures are cooler that what we've been having, but it's still better than the weather at our home in MD. There is a weather system that will be bringing snow from the Carolina's up the east coast that could hamper the Thanksgiving traffic, so I'm glad we're here and hunkered down for the winter. The campground is putting on a Thanksgiving Day dinner tomorrow and all we have to do is bring sides, so we're going to join in on that. I'll make the turkey breast we have for another meal with the entire spread so we can have the usual leftovers. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good Morning, So far it is good here as all dogs seem to have returned to normal, well their normal that is It is cold but thankfully right now sunny and no rain. Carolb hope you don't get much snow and you can have good roads ahead when you leave your brothers home. I had so much more I wanted to show you around the area I hope you can come back in the spring. When the vet returned my call he said Andy was probably having a reaction to the Prednisone so stop giving it. Since he had only had three doses I didn't have to wean him off. Dog care is certainly getting to be so complicated. Back in the 60's and 70's when we had seven dogs on the farm I don't remember any having eating issues, plus all were very well behaved.
Irmi, glad you guys are in Fl keeping fairly warm. Cheryl, I'll be here for the virtual Thanksgiving tomorrow.
I just realized this is the last shopping day before Thanksgiving and I should give a bit of thought as to what we are going to eat. We were invited out but the time was changed from Thursday until Saturday. Guess I should get about getting organized and feed the hungry masses.

Happy T Day everyone! BJ, hope you find something in the cupboard or store for tomorrow's meal. Years ago we were living on the East coast and two of my sons were living together on the West coast. I felt bad that they might not get the nice, big Thanksgiving dinner we were having, so I called them and asked what they were doing for the holiday. Oldest one said, "I'm eating a peanut butter sandwich as we speak." My poor babies, going without turkey and trimmings! Lesson #1 for parents of grown-up children: Don't ask! And especially don't ask if it's going to ruin your holiday worrying about them!

My daughters dog Augie is wanting to lay on the deck in the cold but I do not think it is wise... I leave him 10 minutes then bring him inside... he likes to watch movement outside... he is nearly blind and deaf full of old arthur and tumors but does real well...

Good morning all. The snow is coming down and I'm glad I don't have to go anywhere today! Had to make two trips to Lowes yesterday. I picked up the special order earlier in the day and several hours later I took time to really look and realized they gave me the wrong piece of laminate! Called them and they found the right box so I went back later to make the exchange. Meanwhile I realized the dog food was starting to run low so since I don't even want to think about shopping over the week end I hit Petco too! Judy, so glad your grandson's tests came out negative. We do worry about our grands! Alice, hope having your bus back helps your arm heal. BJ, I have to agree that it seems we have more problems with our pets now then we used to have. Sign of the times? Additives in their food just like human food?? Carolb, so glad you made it to your brother's with no weather problems. And Irmi, time ro relax and enjoy your time in Ocala.

Guess I should quit procrastinating and get started baking. I promised to make a Dutch apple cake to take for dessert tomorrow. We ate it all while Carolb was here and some of the family missed it so gotta try it again! My Dutch friend made it while she was here and it was so good! Just like I remember from when we lived in Holland!! A good family memory! Have a wonderful day and be safe if you are on the road.

Was woken up by the snow plows roaring past my bedroom window, so finally got up. It is snowing heavily right now and looks like a snow globe outside! Don't think we are supposed to get more than 3 inches tho. But will still mess up travelers leaving today for out of town.

much nicer on my arm driving my good bus
debating something in my head right now, a friend (very dear friend) is stranded (illness) in Salt Lake City right now, wants me to come up with my son and help drive the truck/camper down here AND the Jeep/utility trailer. SLC is a 10.5 hour drive and if I used my car I'd have to take a third driver with to bring my car back. So....trying to sort this out in my head, I looked into a rental car one way but its nearly $300 extra for the drop off fee, If I rented a car and brought it back its only $100 so thats kind of stupid thinking, still need a third driver. He's running out of money soon so he really needs to get the heck out of SLC.
Contemplating how I'm going to accomplish this. Common sense is telling me to put the Jeep in storage somewhere and haul the utility trailer on the back of the truck, then can go back later and get the jeep. Will have to check out some storage yards in SLC and see what I find. This makes the most sense and only need me and my son that way to go get him. Sometimes it just needs to be put down in print to think this out to see the picture.

Good Morning!

Everyone is so busy!! I need the day to get organized in here as I think we will take off tomorrow for an overnight.

All the talk of snow! I really enjoyed it in Canada, but that was enough for now! The worst of the cold was a walk to the nearby grocery and the dog sled ride - everything was covered but eyes and forehead. My forehead actually hurt!

JudyJB, glad your grandson's tests were negative! We do worry. My grandson had another depression episode so more doctors, school, etc. involved.

Ava, is the utility trailer how your friend carries the Jeep behind the truck and camper? That would only require 2 drivers. Another good reason to have some sort of insurance. Carolb, glad you are at your brother's, but I will still feel better when you are out of storm range! I know you all love your pets, but you all have more patience with them than I would so I'll just enjoy yours from time to time! Kathleen, in one of the photos, I thought I saw those cheesy potatoes - love 'em.

I hadn't finished my first cup of coffee when I got a message from LeRoy about things to do today! Argh! Guess I better get busy.

After four days of solid downpours, the rain has finally stopped and the sun has come out!

It is still chilly and very windy, but I am going to give it an hour and then go out for a beach walk. This state park is very isolated but it is very quiet and pretty. It is on a very long peninsula that juts out south and then heads north, so you can see the Gulf on one side and the bay on the other in many places. I'll bet it is crazy here during the summer, however, with families and such. Right now it is certainly not swimming weather. It is T.H. Stone Memorial state park on the St. Joseph Peninsula.

Because of the very weak internet and cell service here, I am leaving tomorrow for a KOA north of Gainesville. It would have been a 305 miles drive on Sunday, so that will break up the drive also. State park refunded all of my money, so that is good and it won't cost me too much. Just got too much to do to not have good internet. I am hoping I can also take in my chair to get it fixed.

By the way, those of you who travel alone, CHECK YOUR LIGHTS FRONT AND BACK!!!! I discovered I had NO backup lights or turn signals--both were actually broken. I suspect they broke on the really bumpy road way back in Nevada so I have been driving very dangerously. Get someone to check them periodically even if you have to ask a stranger. I was lucky to have an observant person in the last campground point this problem out to me.

Anita, the utility trailer is towed by the Jeep Rubicon, and then he has the truck with Lance camper on it. So...yea, need two drivers. I did check storage fees for the jeep but thats not gonna work, its too high priced and budget is a big concern right now. Besides, I don't think he'd be very happy about leaving it behind until later. Still thinking on this and waiting to hear from son as well to see if he can go with me, and maybe oldest grandson. Think I could go through las vegas from here and then its just 6 hours from las vegas, will also look at weather window.

hard work for the day was moving the RV and car about 300 yards. I have to stop and think now about angles etc. My fridge is the opposite side in this rig from my last and when boondocking, I prefer to not have it facing the south. Parked right where I used to yesterday. So moved this morning and it won't have the sun beating on it. But the hot water tank will. That's a plus.

My phone in the last week has decided it doesn't want to hold a charge. I see a new battery possibly in my near future. And I want to go to Lowe's or Home Depot and look for maybe a piece of cork board to lay over my inside steps. That's where so much cold/heat comes in the rig.

If all goes well, I'm heading to the Desert Museum to spend Thanksgiving there tomorrow.

I made it back from town and hope I have everything I need for tomorrow. If we are missing anything we will just have to do without. I had bought some sweet potatoes the other day and Harold came in with a box of sweet potatoes from the feed store. Anyone need sweet potatoes? lol I think I will make a few things today so I don't have so much to cook in the morning.

Everyone that has snow can just send me a picture. It is 70 and bright sunshine here. I almost need to turn on the air conditioner. I wish our windows weren't so hard to open.

Good idea to check the lights. I use to check them every year before I took a vehicle for the inspection sticker. Now we can get a 2 year sticker so I need to check them before a trip. I was going to wash my car when I was in town but that wasn't on my list so forgot about it.

Yesterday I made a fig cake but it wasn't as good as my neighbor makes. A friend gave Harold a bag of dried figs and I didn't know what else to do with them. I should have cooked them and mashed them up. Just chopping them didn't spread them out enough.
