Ahh, yes...I do see the leash, Liz! Was wondering what you would do if one of those bellowing gators decided to leap up after Roe!

Hope everyone is having a fun Saturday---now that all the chores are done, I sure am!

Happy travels!

Thanks Liz - I'm looking at 10 and 12 Zoom strengths - and the Canon and the Kodak are on my list. Karen has a 10 Kodak that I liked at our gtg in Port L this week. Hers has a viewfinder, and that is a must for me - as I'm discovering some have them, some don't - and I'm reading carefully about each to make sure what I get has one. I already know that I use my viewfinder to take pics more often than the screen for the reasons you stated. Sometimes I can't see anything.

Great pics of Silver Springs. And yep, your plan B turned out great!

Good idea to know what you're looking for....I didn't realize mine didn't have a viewfinder until I started using it...I was too busy checking for the amount of zoom, etc. I think any of the digitals will take quality photos, so brand isn't so imporatant as getting the features you want.

Oh, I didn't say - the lady I work with here has the camera you got. She loves it. However, she wishes it had a view finder. The other day we stopped for her to pick up her camera to take some pics of the spoonbills, and she did get some good ones - however she does a lot of guess work when taking pics when she can't see the image well (like she couldn't that day because of where we had to be to get the pics). That cinched me having wanted the view finder, to making it a must. Problem is, many of these cameras, I'm reading about them, and they don't say either way. Sure make it difficult to shop!

Thanks for the pictorial tour! I also downsized my camera option so that I would actually haul it with me when hiking. Easy and small gets used and at least captures the moments......
