Readytotry - I once had a very sick dog--vomiting constantly and bloody diarrhea. it just would not stop and she was shaking like crazy. THEN, we found out that when we put her out she had been visiting the trash and was eating part of a very rotten chicken my dad had thrown out!!! Once we cleaned up the trash mess and made sure the chicken was out of her reach, she was miraculously cured! Funny that yours will not drink out of a nice clean bowl but prefers the dirty stuff!
Horrible night last night. First, I arrived just at dusk--hate these short days, but I had to stop at a Camping World because I had no brake lights, so ended up being late. Campground was way out on a peninsula and very dark, plus there was a horrible thunderstorm and heavy downpour that was supposed to last all night. So I sat in the cab thinking, do I really need TV and a shower tonight??
Decided I did, especially the shower, so I rushed outside to plug in the electric. Luckily that was easy, but the water was on the other side of the vehicle and was shared with another site. Had to walk in puddles and got my shoes soaked. Raced in to wait for a break in storm and changed my clothes. When rain slowed up for a minute, I raced outside to get out both of my water hoses. This time I wore my beach crocs and put on a rain coat. Had a terrible time fastening up end to the spigot, of course. Started raining hard again, and finally got it done.
And almost no cell service here! I had some occasionally, and it turns out the college system was down and students were panicking about turning in papers, which are always due on Monday night. So I had 5 phone call messages and I ended up having to text message and stand in my bedroom to get a connection. Also got message I had 20 emails waiting for me, but I could not access them because college system was down!!!
SO right now, I am parked in scenic overlook in the rain using my internet to solve student problems. It started to rain again, so I supposed I will have to hookup in the rain again. Somehow, I have spent the last four days exactly in the line of this non-moving row of thunderstorms in the Florida Panhandle. (Storms keep coming up from the Gulf, but the line has not really moved east or west in all that time.) Everything inside is wet or damp, so I ran heater all night to dry things out. I am going to cancel part of my stay and leave on Thursday for a KOA that I just called. Whew!
