It's Tuesday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It's Tuesday!

Postby Othersharon » Tue Nov 25, 2014 8:51 am

Good morning all! Don't know why but was up early this morning, been up since 5:30! I've been watching the wearher and looks like any running needs to be done today. It sounds like we may get some snow tomorrow. I finally called "the guy" last week and he picked up my snowblower and returned it Sunday. Apparently it was just the 2 belts that needed replaced so I was happy to pay him to fix it! Sure beats buying a new one! So I guess I'm ready for whatever hits! Not that I'm ever ready for snow! I took advantage of the 60 degree day yesterday and finished up some things outside. Cleaned the leaves on the porch but saw this morning there are more! At some point I'll probably have all the neighbor's leaves in my driveway and porch! I did finally manage to get the cover on Lola so she's all secure for the winter. Can't do much else to protect her!

Carolb, are you heading out to your next stop? Saw the photos and looks like you gals had a good time. Sue, love the photo of the new puppy. Anita, the polar bear pic was amazing! Hope everyone has a good day and be safe on the roads.

Good Mornong O' Sharon and all,

Just finished what was going to be the first post this morning, but then noticed you beat me to it Sharon  yep, winters back, so I'm sure it will be out your Way by tomorrow. We only have around 4-5 inches right now. Winds are more NW this time and that doesn't favor us here as much.wil probably justo leave it till tomorrow as I'm not going any where today.yes, you dominant to get those leaves up and gone. Don't want to have them getting into your snow lowers along with snow. Good recipe for a clogged up blower chute.

Nothing to report from here today. Same old, same old. Pup pictures posted under Pets for those who don't know and have been asking.

So going to wish you all a nice day, safe travels on the roads for those out and about. :)

Good Morning, The sun is out but it's in the 40's. Carolb is getting ready to move on to her brothers house today. We really enjoyed her visit and wish it could have been longer. Unfortunately Toby greeted the morning with a bout of sick stomach and for awhile thought we were going to have to dash to the vet with him. He seems settled now, vet said it was a fairly normal reaction to not eating for several days and the trauma of finally eating on his own. I have been holding the bowl or feeding him as I mentioned earlier for about six weeks. Finally vet said try putting it down and if he doesn't eat take it away. So... after four days he finally ate out of a plate without assistance!!! I only gave him a little at a time and mostly just chicken and rice but must have been too much physically and emotionally. So today he gets two tablespoons of food and if that stays down tomorrow we get to increase. He had also been not drinking water unless I held it but last few days refused. I found out his source this morning, a bucket outside full of leaves, pine needles and murky looking water. ACK no wonder his stomach is upset. I dumped it to his dismay and now he is drinking when offered inside. So... with all this going on today it seemed like we weren't going to get much running around accomplished so Carol headed West. :( It was so good to have her and we are hoping she will stop again on her return east this spring. We found out we know a lot of the same people in this area, it is a very small world!!

Kathleen thank you so much for sending the delicious ice cream!!

Readytotry - I once had a very sick dog--vomiting constantly and bloody diarrhea. it just would not stop and she was shaking like crazy. THEN, we found out that when we put her out she had been visiting the trash and was eating part of a very rotten chicken my dad had thrown out!!! Once we cleaned up the trash mess and made sure the chicken was out of her reach, she was miraculously cured! Funny that yours will not drink out of a nice clean bowl but prefers the dirty stuff!

Horrible night last night. First, I arrived just at dusk--hate these short days, but I had to stop at a Camping World because I had no brake lights, so ended up being late. Campground was way out on a peninsula and very dark, plus there was a horrible thunderstorm and heavy downpour that was supposed to last all night. So I sat in the cab thinking, do I really need TV and a shower tonight?? :?

Decided I did, especially the shower, so I rushed outside to plug in the electric. Luckily that was easy, but the water was on the other side of the vehicle and was shared with another site. Had to walk in puddles and got my shoes soaked. Raced in to wait for a break in storm and changed my clothes. When rain slowed up for a minute, I raced outside to get out both of my water hoses. This time I wore my beach crocs and put on a rain coat. Had a terrible time fastening up end to the spigot, of course. Started raining hard again, and finally got it done.

And almost no cell service here! I had some occasionally, and it turns out the college system was down and students were panicking about turning in papers, which are always due on Monday night. So I had 5 phone call messages and I ended up having to text message and stand in my bedroom to get a connection. Also got message I had 20 emails waiting for me, but I could not access them because college system was down!!! :o

SO right now, I am parked in scenic overlook in the rain using my internet to solve student problems. It started to rain again, so I supposed I will have to hookup in the rain again. Somehow, I have spent the last four days exactly in the line of this non-moving row of thunderstorms in the Florida Panhandle. (Storms keep coming up from the Gulf, but the line has not really moved east or west in all that time.) Everything inside is wet or damp, so I ran heater all night to dry things out. I am going to cancel part of my stay and leave on Thursday for a KOA that I just called. Whew!

Good Afternoon,

Slow day on here! We went for a ride in the desert - I'm not big on the rides where you have to work to stay warm the whole time!

BJ, thanks for the info on Carolb! Glad you had a good visit!

Hope you are all having a good day!
