Monday with O'Sharon

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday with O'Sharon

Postby carolb » Mon Nov 17, 2014 6:11 am

G'morning all :)

Hooray! I'm in PA :) O'Sharon has to be on everybody's list--another amazing woman :P ...with amazing dogs who are very gracious hosts to my poopers

Wow, Anita, did I miss getting send-off wishes to you? On your way to polar bear country already :o Guess she'll have us all beat for the lowest temps  Sounds like winter has consumed the entire country. Kathy, surprising Kathleen--Kathleen, I know you always love visitors. Can't wait for our Tday celebration:)

Hmm, toilet lines more apt to freeze? I'm getting water at the base of my stool, thinking maybe I didn't have HB warm enough to keep those lines flowing  Crikey! Well, I'm not going to worry about it until I get somewhere warm enough to deal with it

Y'all have a great day & be safe always--Beth, safe travels to you when you finally head south tomorrow 8-)

Good morning, Carolb, and all that follow....It's been a little while since I've posted, but I have been keeping track of all of you by reading the posts...

It's been a little cool here in GA on and off...a little warmer today, but back to the cooler temps tomorrow...

Have been working on shawls and another ABC baby blanket...hoping to get them done soon...have other projects I want to get to...

The wind had Spinner all upset last night, so no one got much sleep, so I'll get off here now and try for a little nap..

Coffee is ready and raisin/cinnamon toast for a quick breakfast...help yourselves..

Have a great day, all... ;) :)

Morning all!

I'm having one of those small yet momentous days today. I've had my civil service earliest-possible-retirement date circled on my calendar for the last year. As of last Saturday (I did have to work today to lock in the time) I have my time in to retire. I can walk out the doors of this place any time I want to now and they have to pay me my retirement pittance (and it is a pittance, but it's MY pittance) for the rest of my life!!! I feel very free all of a sudden.

Good Morning All, Had a very nice day yesterday. Watched the game at the daughters home, then went over to the grandsons home for dinner. His wife is a good cook.
Had to laugh at my post to Barbie. Telling her it gets cold in the desert. She is in 4* and the cold in the desert gets down to 32* sometimes. It's all relative! Have lots to do on my to do list today...lyn

Thanks, Lyn. I'm sitting here at my desk, it's 17 degrees outside, and I'm contemplating running away! :P

Mornin' gals,

Will be quick today; waiting on Lucas my horseshoer to come trim the ponies' feet. Way too cold too early here and hope all my friends are safe as I heard tornadoes in FL (?) yesterday and in GA today.

Yes, I surprised Kathleen with a visit, I had a meeting of horsewomen at a restaurant in Bloomington in the afternoon so I went down early to see if Kath wanted a visit, of course she did! Who can resist the woman who barges in unannounced? LOL I did bring goodies tho! Meeting was a great success, Kathleen, all the ladies said they enjoyed meeting each other! And I was glad to get to visit with you!

That's all for now, everyone in the cold please be careful and stay warm. I've started wearing my "longies"!

YES it is a cold monday... Congratulations Mickie... always good to see the light at the end of the tunnel...
Carolb what happened to my toilet last year was it would not shut off... the repair was more costly than having a new toilet put in... last winter was full of costly expenses...
I am real cold inside this morning... not sure why... outside in the teens...
Have a warm day where ever you are...
Kathleen or Kathy

Cleaning up today - putting things away for traveling, etc. Won't do any of the outside stuff till morning. Initially planned to do all that tonight, be ready to go early. But the temps in the morning will still be absolutely horrendous, so my plan is to wait until about 11 to take off. I talked to one of the women here from town and she doesn't think I'll have trouble on the gravel roads I intend to take - told me they are in pretty good shape today. And one of the workers here on the farm is out with the big plow right now- so hopefully the distance on their roads will be good, too. Not worried after I hit the main roads - as long as the temps are rising (at least some) and there's no snow called for. Will take my time - but go 300 miles if I can before dark. If I'm far enough along with enough daylight, I might attempt close to 400! Not my idea of fun, but my idea of getting to better temps faster!

Nice to see the mini gtg's.

And Barbie, maybe we can trade you off, one night with one, with with another :) Some how or another, if you make the reservations, we'll all make sure you have a place to sleep.

Good morning everyone!

It's still morning on the east coast, but not for long.

Carolb, so glad you made it safe and sound to O'Sharon's. I'm sure whatever you get into will be fun. Lori, I hope the winds have settled down so you can get a nap in. Mickie, congratulations on your retirement! Now you can seriously make plans to get on the rod. Lyn, lots of us wish the coldest temperatures we'd see was 32. Kathy, so glad you were able to stop in to visit with Kathleen yesterday. Kathleen, hopefully you're starting to warm up, but when it's only in the teens outside, it's hard to feel warm, even when you're inside. Beth, I wish you the very best with your trip south. I'm looking forward to your next post to let us know how you made out. Anita, you're in Canada! Have fun on this trip!

We're cutting our stay in NC short by a week and are heading south in the morning. There's another cold front staring us in the face, nothing like the temperatures Beth and Barbie are seeing, so it's time to move on down the road. We could have left today, but the weatherman is calling for rain through tonight and we choose not to drive when it's raining. So I got our laundry caught up instead. Pork chops, a salad and sides are on the menu for dinner if anyone would like to stop in.

Good M orning,

Almost missed morning here. Still half hour left. Had quick breakfast, put couple checks in mail, put out trash for pickup day and headed into town. Wanted to run a few errands so I can hunker down for a bit. Winter Strm Warning in effect from thigh through tomorrow night. Carolb, better stay out at O'Sharon's for a bit as it's headed that way eventually. SomImknow Imwill be using blower on Wednesday. Heavy lake effect to come in with it. But then by Sunday, rain or a mix. Go figure.

Have some news for you. I did an about face and wil be getting a new "fur kid", next month. An 8 week old collie pup. My Christmas present to myself. Will try and post a pic soon as I figure out how to do it on this IPad. She wil be ready to come home on Dec. 13th. Just sent the deposit check out this morning. Now to pray for good weather that day. Have at least a 4 hour drive one way. Might staynwithnfriend over night who lives a ways east of there. Will see. Needless to say I am excited.

So that,s my big news for today. You always have a great day out there.

Its still morning, so will at least say hello. Did not realize I was behind reading the MC a whole week. Just finished, everyone has been so busy, Anita is in Canada, Carolb is on the road, Kathleen loves surprise visits, just bring goodies :D Martha, has been traveling, now can't catch her son, to give him a birthday gift no less, those son's are hard to catch, I know got one  All of us are holding our breathe for Beth to have safe travels and getting out of that place safely, no ice, snow or bad winds. That area of the country, think we're all hoping for a lot, but......... Kathy you are way to busy, wears me out, reading your post. Barbie, would love to be close enough to you, to get hopefully a decent haircut, like I would love to have. Sure can't find anyone down here. Irmi, pork chops, salad, one of my fav meals, gosh just missed that huh??
Can't remember everyone's doings, but all the post made for good reading this morning. Haven't been doing anything, really don't know why I haven't read before this. Congratulations on the retirement time in and your new place in Fl. Something to look forward too, if you're spending this winter in ILL.

The snow man Liz made in Ocala at that GTG was a reminder of one she made in not sure June or July in Beartooth Nat'l forest CG years ago :D If she can find a cup of snow she will make a snowman !!! Born in her, raised in New England area :) They're always so cute too, she knows how to do it. Those pictures, Barbie, posted brought a smile to my face, remember that morning, it was cold there that year, snow on my picnic table when Maggie and I, went out for our walk.

Well, noon is almost here, just wanted to get a hello in here when I found I had been awol so long. Those traveling, especially Beth , wishing you safe travels. Those at home, enjoy your day and get some fun in there somewhere,

CArol :)

Sue and Irmi, snuck in here, oh, so happy for you Sue, know you have missed a walking buddy, and this winter you need a 4 legged friend. Collies are so pretty, I've always wanted one since watching Lassie when a kid, and all these years never had one. hmmm
