Snow/Rain Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Snow/Rain Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu Nov 06, 2014 8:14 am

Good Morning Everyone,

Cloudy with rain at the moment. Guess it's supposed to mix today. Long range forecast calls for a dive into low 30's by end of weeken. Then lake effect snow showers. So glad I have all the outdoor stuff done. Just made a last pass over my yard and nigh ours with. Y leaf blower yesterday.

Otherwise much same old around here. Had to call a plumber out yesterday for malfunctioning toilet. Wound up having to get it replaced. So now have a nice new high riser "throne" ;) and a nice hole in my checkbok :( But it's a good thing as Imwill be putting it to good use, as today I am on that liquid diet and later will be taking the "stuff" in prep for that "test" that so many of you have had  Am going tomusemorange Gatorade to mix the stuff in. Have a nice collection of liquids and even some good soup broth to use for my liquid diet today. Even made jello :)

So guess Imwil go wash my hair and get busy doing some things around here. Wil play catch up on here today too. Have a great day all.

Good morning Sue... and everyone else.... rain no snow here lol... but I guess it will be warm again.... my dad also have to get a new throne in the house maybe it will be in next Monday....did my thing yesterday with the crafty church ladies... I guess it got me in the mood to work on my craft/art/ storage room... I hate that I have to use it for storage room and everything else not very conducive to making anything.... it doesn't do a thing for my creative juices... cleaning that room is not what I should be doing but its what I feel like doing... I have found that if I do what I feel like doing I get more accomplished... that's my story and I'm sticking to it.... don't know how long I work at it....it's more than one day job.... so now I will get back to it... so have a fun filled day and be safel ....donna

Good Morning all. Clear blue sky's here. The sun was very warm on my back when I was doing the Aqua jogging yesterday. I think I got a little sunburn. In Nov yet! The day's continue with no rain...nothing much new going on around here. Oh yes, I almost forgot. One of the little stores on the first floor got robbed the other day. By BATMAN no less! He must have been left over from Halloween! Lyn

Good Morning !! Sun is out here, haven't heard any rain coming, but it wouldn't make a difference to me, no plans  Batman is robbing people, wow, thought he was a good guy !! :D Sue, so nice to see you opening MC again, have missed you on here. Now that the outside work is done for the season, we'll see you more here???? Donna, thinking you and I, may be in same mood, not good.

Had dr app yesterday and both of my eyes are doing very well, pressure perfect in both, he wants to see me again in two weeks. I asked about going to get my lic and he said I shouldn't rush it, rush it ???? I have been using my old glasses for small print reading, don't need them for reading on laptop and print is set at normal, but closer work I need some help. The trip up to NC and the expense and imposing on someone , I need to know that I will pass that test. He says not to rush it, so I'm wondering why. My Sis is ok with it all, doesn't think I should be rushing or getting upset, just go with the flow, Well I am really tired of going with the flow !!! I could keep on whining but it solves nothing, it does bother me though that I see my little dog aging before my eyes and not a thing I can do about it. She needs to get out on a path somewhere and be able to smell new stuff, this back yard, think we have covered every blade of grass it has, had and will have. She plods along like she's ancient and no energy, and no interest . Really hurts me, but for those who don't have a furbaby as my sis and dh, they do not understand. All the laying around she has to do is killing her and me watching.

So, what all of this is doing to my best little buddy is what the big deal is with me and I'm finding it really hard not to "rush it"

Sorry, it will all work out, not sure what state my patience will be in, at times have not had much but this past months I have really had to try to control what little I have

Those traveling stay safe, and those not, enjoy your day with a tad of fun in there somewhere. Thinking I will read more on my book, which is a pleasure that has come back to me. See there is always something to be thankful for.

Have a good day all,
CArol :)

Good mornin' gals,

CArol, I know what you mean, worrying about our furbabies not feeling their best. Woke up at 1 a.m. to more diarrhea. And of course, DH who also got up left me to clean it all. Well, there really wasn't much else he could do, it's kind of a one person job I suppose. Took me an hour to get everything cleaned--whichever poor pup did it got it all over everywhere, floor, walls, even rugs and garbage cans. And of course, the living room carpeting. And it's really strange because I just cleaned up the yard yesterday and NO ONE had had any diarrhea outside. So I don't know what's going on and I don't know for sure which one is having the issues. Only thing I'm certain of is that is ISN'T the puppy as he's crated all night. I'll have to watch closely today and try to see who's the culprit then get a sample to take to the vet's. Last night's stuff would have been too old by the time the vet opened this morning.

Sooooooo, decided to clean carpeting; no can't start there-have to mop kitchen first so I can move furniture into the kitchen while I clean rugs. So mopped all kitchen, laundry room, and bathroom. Waited til that dried then moved furniture and got steam cleaner ready--NOPE! Cleaner won't suck up the water, darn it! I am just having the bestest day so far! Guess my next move is off to the store for a new cleaner.

At least yesterday my friend brought over my new doggie cutouts that her husband made me and are they neat! Almost life-sized. I just need to paint them brown and then get some screws to secure one of them to my driveway gate and the other to the deck railing. When I get them all done, I'll post pics. Neatest things I've ever seen and he drew them freehand. Since he wouldn't take anything for making them I'm going to get them a gift cert. for a nearby restaurant as a thank you.

That's about all the news from here today; hope you all have a good day.

good morning ladies
so nice out this morning, 68 right now and suppose to get up to 82, its just slightly breezy. My chimes sound so lovely.
I'm feeling so comfortable these days its hard to get motivated to do anything other than just sitting and soaking up the
sunshine. Scout and Maggie love sitting in the sun and just watching...whatever they are watching I have no idea.
We're getting into that time of year at work that it just tends to go so fast, it will be the end of the year before we know
it. Our budget override passed on election day so we will see a few new busses soon and the announcement was made
we will get a 2% raise. We won't get that until July though but every little bit counts and we haven't had one in so long its been
ridiculous. Something to look forward to. :D
Going to do some shopping, on the internet but I need some ideas. Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good Morning,

First time I've had a post disappear that I couldn't bring back!! The whole website just disappeared - computer or operator error.

I didn't get to sleep until 4 this morning - no idea why. Neighbor's barking dog made sure I got up at 9. Plan to go into town for haircut, fuel, propane, and groceries.

Sue, hope your test goes well! Donna, I am sorry you are 'stuck' in your dad's driveway. CArol, you have been very patient so you are entitled to be impatient along the way! Sorry to hear Maggie is so confined. Kathy, hope your day gets better! Ava, I envy you a nice quiet place to sit outside! Lyn, shame on Batman!

Each morning I find I get up wondering what the day holds for my grandson. The saying in our family is 'no news is good news' when it comes to far away family members so I'll hold onto that.

To those on the road, safe travels and to all, have the best day possible!

My granddaughter Sekana had surgery on her labia again... the first surgeon did a horrid job that was back the end of July... this time she had a reaction to the anesthesia... makes me shiver thinking of what she has gone through... if all goes well my grandson Tim has his shoulder surgery tomorrow late afternoon... I will take a meal to them on Saturday...

Another bright sunny day with no rain in sight here! Gotta take son to get our broadband modem replaced, again. I wish the, phone company would buy modems that would last as I think this one is only a year or so old and they told son after trying to check it online that it's bad again. Thankfully it only costs me the time and gas to drive over to their office to trade it out. Otherwise have a handyman I know coming tonight to begin work on the numerous, projects hubby just can't do ESP those requiring a ladder. Finally convinced hubby it's not a good idea to get on a ladder since he has chronic dizziness! I told hubby if you climb a ladser you better hooe the fall onocks you out because if it doesnt I will! LOL ! Otherwise will be just trying to get done what I can and dreading getting up at o'dark thirty tomorrow to drive the freeway to take hubby to a recheck with the ENT surgeon who did his palate surgery. At least no fog predicted! Have a good day all. Feel for those,in cold climates as we will be in 70's again.

Sue, good think you got the throne fixed! Can't have that not working properly while going thru the prep for the dreaded "C" test!

Last night I went to a friend's house and sat in his hot tub outside in the rain! Sure felt good to sit in there tho! Was so relaxed afterward, I slept like a baby!

Went to my dad's this morning to help with the raking by the school kids (6th graders this year) who volunteer every year to clean up his yard. My dad insisted on helping out with raking, etc. No way to stop him sometimes  . I guess he fell yesterday down a couple steps in the breezeway but didn't hurt himself, luckily.

It was a beautiful day to rake tho! Sunny and calm and mid 40's. A little cool but not bad, at least dry! Not as many leaves this year. Only 50 bags filled instead of 100+, most years. Altho, when the new neighbors moved in last year, they cut down over a dozen beautiful oak trees, so we didn't have those leaves, that usually blow into my dad's yard, to clean up. After the kids left, I went thru more of my stuff I had stored in the breezeway and got that packed in plastic bins and loaded in my car. Yesterday, I did all the boxes in the garage (mostly books), so those are done and stacked up in my garage. Today, mostly photo albums and some of my mom's things. Glad to be done with that. Just a few more boxes in the house to go thru later. Just wanted to get the outside stuff done before it got too cold. Tomorrow I will get his patio furniture put away for the winter, before he does it himself.

Off to work here in a little while. 4 hour shift today, and 4 hour shift tomorrow after my dad's doctor appointment.

Hope you all have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
