You know it's not going to be a good Tuesday.....

Postby gingerK » Tue Nov 04, 2014 8:44 am

....when you are awakened at 3:30 a.m. by the smell of puppy diarrhea. Yep, I've been up since then and what a mess it was and on my carpeting too! Don't know which dog it was other than it wasn't the youngest as he's crated all night. This has been an issue this weekend and I guess it's time for vet visit except I checked outside and all poops look normal in the yard (haven't had a chance to clean them up yet).

Not much else to report here, cloudy this morning, maybe some sunshine just before sunset. I'm working on my friend's bedrooms trying to get them cleaned up and space made in the one for the 24/7 caregiver and generally giving her house a good cleaning before she gets home. Need to run to Wallyworld to get some bins to put her clothes in to make room for the caregiver's clothes as she is supposed to stay a month.

Hope everyone's day goes better than mine started!

Ack Kathy not a good way to start your day all of us with dogs know the feeling. Not much on my agenda today except deal with service calls for our generator and our basement pump $$$$ Can't believe what these guys charge. Oh well, if the power goes out in the winter I'll be glad for the dollars spend no doubt.
I posted a question about Elsie in the Maintenance/Tech section sure would appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks for the bagels Melissa, guess everyone is busy or out voting. Donna I know how it is to be bored, wish you could be more mobile. Has your house sold yet?

DS called me Thursday night at the Hunting Island GTG to say she was experiencing flashing light in her right eye. She was working in Ohio for a month and got a ride south on Friday with a co-worker who was heading back to Jacksonville. We coordinated and met up at the closest I-95 exit to where I was camping. Had to go back to campground that night, but left Sunday for home. Called early yesterday morning and made appointment for DS to see a retinal specialist today. Long drive home yesterday evening because I drive so slow pulling the trailer.

Busy day today. Finished emptying travel trailer. Now doing laundry. Need to sweep the floor and toss the rugs in the laundry, but may put that off until the weekend. Will vote before driving DS to her doctor's appointment. The light flashes in her eye have pretty much subsided, but need to get this checked out ASAP.

Best part of the day will be driving DS to the hospital to visit her new two week old grandson for the first time. Baby is doing well and being weened off the feeding tube. New mother is staying in a family room with baby in NICU, but we expect him to go home no later than next week. Lots of excitement because this is a first baby for the parents and all the grandparents. Finally saw a picture of him awake and smiling!

good morning
got my vote done
about ready for a nap before I go back to work. Maggie has really learned alot from Scout, she actually plays with toys now,
agressively and....in the keep away fashion. I think she's learned how to be a dog. Scout has been good for her but he plays
much to hard, noticed he limps a little from his rear right leg, think its that knee thing, I rub it a little and manipulate it and
he seems ok after that. I just hope it doesn't continue, its only happened a couple times in the past few days and only seems
to last a short while.
Ok, everyone wants out and I want a nap.
Ya'll have a great day.

Good Afternoon,

Weather has warmed up here.

Linann, keeping good thoughts for your sister. I used to work for an ophthalmologist 40 plus years ago and recognized the symptoms when I read your post. How exciting to go see the new little one, though!

Donna (ryegal), I was surprised to learn you aren't coming to Arizona this winter!

Ava, I think it so funny that Maggie is learning new things from Scout - well, the good ones anyway!

Donna in Florida, nice that you have a group of craft ladies you enjoy.

BJ, read your maintenance post and think you got good responses.

I got a slow start this morning (posted in General), but after getting brought up to date, I am cleaning the dinette area and the floors in the camper. If I keep at it, I can put out the new throw rugs! I am down to my last week here and have decided to go to Salome for a month, with the Polar Bear tour in the midst of it. I will not be staying at the usual busy body park but at a park just up the road.

Beth, how is your arm? I keep forgetting to ask!

Eye update. Ophthalmologist told DS that the retina has not detached or torn. That is the good news. Bad news is that it is age related and will probably occur in the other eye with time. He told her that the fluid inside the eye is slightly diminishing/drying up. Sounded crazy to me, but there is no treatment at this time other than she has to go back in four weeks and will be followed closely. Oh, and DS learned she has small cataracts in each eye.

The joy of getting old. The last time I got a manicure the manicurist had the nerve to tell me he could tell I was getting older because of my nails. I can tell you that I have excellent fingernails -- almost as good as when I was in my 20's. Cannot believe that upset me, but it did. Unfortunately, I have a feeling it is only going to get worse from here.

Anyway, very happy with DS eye report. Now, off to see that new baby!

Anita, I was just wondering about your arm! Mine is amazingly almost totally painfree. Today, for the first time here, I did something that gave me a tinge of the old pain, so I'm babying it tonight and if anything hurts tomorrow will put the bandage/brace thing on.

Linann, aging isn't always fun, but sure beats the alternative. I hope it's a long time before she has more problems, in either eye.

I voted! :D

It is getting colder here. My fall coat just didn't cut it today. Will have to get out the winter one tomorrow. Supposed to be some snow tomorrow night and again on Friday, and colder yet next week :( .

Got my review at work and it went very well. I am getting another raise! Great Clips isn't known for handing out raises and this is the first boss I have ever had who has given raises. This will be my third in less that two years! Must be doing something right! Yesterday I worked at a different shop to fill in for someone who couldn't make it in. The manager there was so happy I was able to come over on short notice to help out that she gave me a $10 gift card for gas! That was nice!

Haven't heard from either of my brothers today, so not sure who is going to take my dad to the doctor on Friday. I have a couple of gals I can call and possibly switch hours with on Friday to take him myself if it comes to that. I might just do that anyways. I am too afraid they will manage to screw things up, and this appointment is too important to miss.

Hope you all had a good day on the road or off. Stay warm and dry!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

that says it all and it came from your own words, hopefully you can switch with someone and be there with your dad to ask all the right questions and get all the right answers. Prayers for you and your dad.
