Chilly November Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Chilly November Sunday

Mornin' Ladies~
Up early today even with the time change. Maybe I'll feel the gain of an hour sleep when I have to go back to work tomorrow - yuck

Frost on the grass but looks like it will be a sunny day today. Fall is definitely here (or do you say Autumn?). The wind the other day of 60 mph + sure blew a lot of leaves off the trees.

Not much else going on. Have a good day ladies!

Morning! I expected a busy room this morning with the extra hour. Even I have time lol.

I decided to move into the geo thermal building. I believe it'll happen tomorrow, but would be willing to do it after work today if they are ready. I'll not like not being able to tell if it's day or night, but won't need to run heaters constantly or worry about my water. Maybe Peaches and I will use the lounge over there and watch some tv at night. And if I'm good, I'll get up on my roof and clean it, especially the solar panels.

Have a great day.

good morning ladies
just up and about, doing nothing special today. Made a tuna casserole yesterday, it was really good and have some leftover
for the freezer. Glad we don't do the time change but I still have to keep it in mind as to what time zone I'm in for this part of the year. Think I'm in Mountain time now, and the other part of the year its Pacific time, or it could be vice versa. That gives
me a good excuse (not that I need one) to call my friend in Colorado and ask her what time it is... wouldn't be the first
time I did it.
Do need to get to the store today, the animals will be out of food in the next couple days so guess its better to do that on
the weekend than during the work week.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe. Hoping you all have some good weather, at least some sunshine for the soul.

G'morning all :)

Yes, chilly here too. HarBor plugged in & electric heater running. Beth, smart move to be inside for your last week? Get you acclimated to warm weather ;)

Seems like all is well with our MC family--I've been reading from my phone, but too lazy to get laptop to post  And as we all know, typing msgs on cell phone is a pain  Really, nothing going on here--still waiting for leaves to fall. Bro & I also need to make our Cmas cookies before I leave--almost forgot about that! Very time-consuming fig-filled cookies, "cuccidatas" if you want to google them. I never did post recipe, very complicated...

So y'all have a great day & be safe always--& warm! 8-)

Good morning!

Have an extra hour today so I thought I'd better check in.

Thank goodness I have atomic clocks throughout the house. I understand the original reason for the time change - but really??? do we still need to be doing this?

Been busy lately. Van is clean & in the caves - just in time for the deep freeze that came thru KC Friday night. Today is supposed to be in the 60s. Need to blow leaves out of the gutters before the rain comes tomorrow. Have a niece's wedding next weekend - my DD & granddaughters will be coming up Thursday & stay the weekend. Oldest granddaughter just got engaged so they will be scouting out wedding venues for her big day while they're in town. Booked flights for the Cali kids to come home for Christmas - looking forward to having everyone together this year.

Work is crazy busy too. Thanks to the gals at the KS GTG (special thanks to Tina) I'm zeroing in on what my role might be for the next year or so. Need to define it better today as I meet with our Pres/CEO tomorrow to discuss my ideas. Also need to get the board minutes done so I can focus on performance reviews along with everything else going on. I know changes won't happen overnight but putting the wheels in motion is the first step.

I love seeing the movement afoot here - heading south, heading home, GTGs.
Kethleen, don't give up hope - continue to dream. You never know what the future holds. :)
Liz, the UPS saga is beyond belief! Hope you're able to get it on Monday.
Beth, it'll be interesting to hear what life in a geo-thermal building is like. Can't wait for updates.

Going to try to catch up a little more & then start my day - it looks absolutely stunning outside!
Take care, Catherine

Good morning gals! Got a few extra minutes before getting ready for work this morning.

I put the new ferret cage together yesterday. It is huge! Thought the ferrets would be all excited to check it out, but so far they aren't too happy about it. They keep looking longingly at their old cage. This one has 4 levels with fleece covered ramps and lots of hammocks and blankets to curl up in. I guess they don't like changes to their home. They will get used to it tho.

I pulled some muscles in my lower back while putting the cage together so am dealing with that with a heating pad, etc.

Sunny but cold today. Winter is coming...

Hope you all have a great day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good Morning, The frost was definitely on the pumpkin last night as the saying goes. It was 29 and I'm crossing my fingers Elsie is still ok, I don't want to put her in the storage place yet since the weather the rest of the week looks good.
I think the first day of the time change is the worst, although I slept in a little. I went to a restaurant in a small nearby town with a group of friends and had an excellent dinner along with listening to very good music. Between the two of them they played guitar, fiddle and bass fiddle. The best part was it wasn't so loud that you couldn't hold a conversation. Our reservations weren't until 7:30 so I had a bowl of lamb stew before I went out that I made for DH. Two to three hours between meals/snacks is normal for me.
Hope everyone has a good day and all with problems get them resolved fast!

Good Morning,

Wind here yesterday and rain overnight. Much cooler this morning and cloudy.

Daylight savings has never bothered me, but I'm with Ava - in Arizona I sometimes forget whether I'm mountain or pacific time (wouldn't care except for time difference for family phone calls).

Carolb, nice to still have traditions (cookie baking)! Catherine, I remember the feeling when both my girls were home for Christmas when they were older! Glad you are planning your way to retirement. Brrr for those of you having colder nights and frost!

Today begins my 3rd and last week here. I still have plenty to do, but I have certainly enjoyed down time! Nice that the library had some new additions for me to download and read. I'll head to Salome early next week to get ready for the Canada trip. Weather looks to be good in Salome so I'll be ready for some desert riding. LeRoy tells me some of the trails have become much rougher after all the rains - we found that last year as well. They rode a trail yesterday to one of my favorite destinations and the trail became impassable.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Chilly morning with sprinkles here in Albuquerque. I am here for two more nights, so am going to just stay inside today and get work done, plus have some of the beef vegetable soup I made last night.

Hand where I had carpal tunnel surgery is aching this morning, probably from 278 miles drive yesterday, so I just took half of a Vicodin and put a large bandaid on it. The incision has healed but some of the skin peeled off so there is very pink, very tender skin showing, and it gets sore just from rubbing on stuff, plus the deeper soreness from inside. Doing better lifting stuff, but it rubs on steering wheel and on computer mouse, so a little ointment and a bandage will soften and protect it.

Would you believe this commercial campground has the water hookups under a cover and at least 15 inches below ground level!! How ridiculous can you get?? I had to have guy who escorted me in hook up my water because there is no way I can kneel on the rough gravel and bend over double to hook up water! Someone will have to unhook for me when I leave. Got a museum to visit tomorrow then heading to a COE campground for a couple of days near Santa Fe. Am slowly working my way to Florida Panhandle, but making progress.

Got some frozen puff pastry so made some croissants which are almost baked. Yum. And homemade soup for lunch later!

Judy, those water hookups should be safe in cold weather, which is probably why they have them.

I'm exhausted. Going to go to bed early and hope they get things ready for me to move in the morning. I'm glad I made this decision, now I want it done lol

A late check in here. Still way too cold for this time of year but at least there was not a strong wind today and the sunshine was appreciated.
Glad you contacted the RV place, Kath. We will be waiting with crossed fingers for your report.
Judy, the water hook ups at campground where I keep Magic also underground and in my limited travels have encountered two other places where they are so low under ground that I cannot get to them. Beth is correct - the reason for locating faucets in the ground is for protection against freezing in areas where the winters are not too harsh.
I didn't accomplish much yesterday - vertigo returned and I felt off most of the day thru this AM. Better now and at least got washing caught up plus bills paid.
Biggest relief however was that the young man who cleans my gutters finally got a weekend off (he has been working a lot of overtime). Gutters were way over due for cleaning and will need to be done again before end of year. Rain back in forecast for Wednesday so I'm really happy to have them done. We must have had a bumper crop of nuts this year - I've been listening to the hickory bounce on roof and roll into gutters for over a month and they are still coming down. One twelve foot section of gutter was full of nuts as well as leaves. I'll tackle the leaves in driveways again after my doctor (routine) appointment tomorrow.
Have a good evening.
