Beth, I heard this from two friends, who are currently working at the Fernly Amazon. It was brought up at their All Hands Meeting. The reason I wanted to work there next year is because I want to work in the west for the summer, then spend some time with a close friend, who rents a cabin in Tahoe every Sept. It would be so convenient to go from Tahoe to Fernly, to work peak. If I can work at another launch, that would help, depending on when and where. As for Campbellsville, before Amazon, it was Fruit of the Loom. Something else would likely move in. A big reason that CamperForce is here is because the work force is exhausted. Other than young people, who are becoming working age, everyone who wanted to has or is working at Amazon. I have asked regular employees if they are worried. The ones I asked said no. Some say it would just give them the push they need to do something else. It would certainly affect the local economy, unless another company moved in.

As for the curtains, Beth....I put up drapes in one of my MH's, to partition off the driving area. I bought a curtain rod that was decorative and very small in diameter. It had mounting brackets that I put on the wall, on each end, and one for the middle that screwed into the ceiling. I used lightweight drapes with those big tabs, so it could slide back easily. The dealership didn't even say anything about the modification when I traded it in. I would like to change my window coverings. Still thinking of replacing my day/night shades with light blocking mini blinds. I shared the crocheted valance idea, on FB, with my DD, who said she would make some for me. I could really brighten up Myrtle :D

I bought the rod already. It has mounting brackets, but I was looking to make it simpler.

Pamela is who told me she expected Reno to continue to use Workampers, that no decision not to had yet been made, at that point. So wait and see. The Campbellsville warehouse was closed for several years when Amazon purchased according to the Campbellsville mayor. The unemployment rate there was something like 30%. Enough people to take care of the normal year, but not nearly enough for peak. I'd hate to see Campbellsville close.

States are trying to get taxes charged for all products shipped to their state as a means of income. On some cases states want us to pay based on both the state of billing AND state shipped to. We'd be taxed twice in that case. I can't imagine that flying. But they try.

Yes, this is the first time the Man in the Recliner has borrowed the rig. The annual Dillsboro Festivals were the only times he got to borrow the Short Bus. There was that hole in the roof he had to have patched after trying to turn it around in a church parking lot without respect for the sidewalk awning....

Luckily he doesn't leave his pottery studio or his recliner to wander off very often..... When he travels to TN to do research on some family property he takes his car. Generally, he is too cheap to drive the RV....cost of gas you know..... :)

Just found out my dad is involved in another lottery scam. They told him he has won $300K but needs to send more money for "fees". However, they are sending him a "check" to pay for those fees. He just has to deposit the check and then send them cash (before the check bounces  ).

So I need to intercept the check cashing thing and run to the bank tomorrow morning and give them a heads-up (assuming he hasn't yet tried to cash the "check" yet , which obviously isn't any good). He can get in trouble if he gets caught trying to cash a bad check at the bank even if he isn't aware that it is bad.

He is running out of money by spending more than he gets each month. This isn't helping any. We (as well as the bank and the police) have tried to explain this scam thing to him over and over but he just doesn't believe us.

It is always something with him...

Sorry, another rant

Left North Ogden Ut. around 11:30 this morning got to Cedar City sometime when my truck was being worked on the battery must have
been pulled cause the time is off..keep thinking that I can wait until the time change which I think is this weekend..really don't know how to set
the time on the clock so don't want to make the effort only to have to change it again... but hate not having the time available...and when I went to check the phone it was on battery saving mode...dgs borrowed my car charger never to put it back in the truck said it didn't work for him I said did for me but he forgot and I forgot and sometimes the charge doesn't last the whole day if it's charged early in the evening..like tonight
trip has been good long but ok planning on making it to Needles tomorrow seems like when I stopped here before it was late when I got there hate driving after dark maybe I will have to try and leave a bit earlier...was almost 300 miles today...
Barbie hate to suggest it but have you thought about getting legal rights so he can't do stuff like that? has to have to signatures to cash checks or make withdrawal ect

Stopped along my long drive today and got a chunk of beef and all the vegetables for beef vegetable soup. It is simmering on the stove, but it won't be ready until tomorrow. (I gnawed on some leftover steak for dinner and am going to bake a potato in a few minutes.) Am looking forward to the fall soup that I have not made in over a year. Yum.

I drove from Winslow to Albuquerque today, which is 278 miles--a lot for me. I stopped at Bluewater Lake State Park but there was just nobody there, so since it was still early and all freeway, I headed here. Got free WiFi at a commercial campground and lots of work to do, so going to take advantage of it. I still have 10 gig left of my 40 from Verizon, but it goes fast and now that I have my WiFi extender, I can take advantage of the free stuff.

I spent the last three nights at Homolovi Ruins state park and really enjoyed it. There were only a few other campers, but there were camp hosts and the view is fantastic. Very wide asphalt pads were really nice, especially since there were signs up to watch out for rattlesnakes. A wide pad means I don't have to walk on the ground and around bushes.

I have two weeks to get to the Florida Panhandle, so am going to review my route tonight. I want to stop in Vicksburg, MS, for one thing. I'd appreciate any suggestions for things to see along the way.

so here I am in Searchlight NV. so if in the area stop at Terrible's casino and gas station I'm the 5th wheel that is hanging out...
my truck got me here and decided it wasn't going anywhere....seems I fried the torque convertor...so waiting to figure out what to do
think I have someone who can fix it and my nephew is going to see if he can find a rebuilt one from a company he has dealt with lots but they
are closed on the weekend...so here I sit had thought it would be go to see if I could find someone to come up from Q and tow the 5th wheel ad I would just leave the truck with this guy had someone lined up but when I remembered I'd not mentioned Shadow called back to tell her about him
and it seems that her husband is allergic..so back to wondering what to do would rather go to Q as I'm suppose to be in Phoenix on Friday...one of the reasons I headed down this early....plus there was a storm I was glad to be ahead of...this maybe Nevada but it's been down right cold...and windy and I don't have my gennie :( be a lot nicer if I did at least I'd not be afraid to run lights...although the batteries charge up well during the day that is awesome!!! just not sure how long the charge lasts as I forget to look
anyone ever let there pet ride in the back of a 5th wheel for a ride? it is so tempting...

Called in sick, today  I never do that, so you know I'm really sick! Caught a cold, probably in VA. Not sure if it's what Jeremy was getting, but was around a lot of people and eating out, etc. The cold itself is tolerable, but I have the worst earache!!! Don't remember having one like this in my adulthood, except for a bacterial one in my ear canal when I first moved to Hawaii (like swimmer's ear). The guy working in AMCARE doesn't know a thing. He didn't even know how to take the wrapper off the thermometer cover  I had him Google the urgent care clinic's hours. He said they were open until 6, so decided to tough it out until the end of the day. Drove over, only to find that they closed at 5! Went over to the one by the hospital. They were open, but didn't know if they were providers for my insurance. Said it's my responsibility to find out. The other one called for me, before. Since there were 5 people ahead of me, anyway, I decided to go to CVS and buy some earache drops. Been using them, but not sure if they're working. I did have a couple of Z pac pills, so took them last night and figure I can get an RX, today, to finish. I'm not much for taking antibiotics, but I was desperate. I had no appetite, so didn't eat supper. Tried to eat a banana, but couldn't finish it. I got so nauseous that I thought I was going to toss my pills. Went to bed with heat on my ear and a cold, wet washcloth on my forehead. Did finally get to sleep. I feel pretty dizzy, which doesn't help with the nausea. This and my sore ankle and toes....I"M A MESS!!!

OK...enough whining! Coffee is brewing and steel cut oats in the rice cooker. Had a heavy frost, but the sun is shining, this morning :D Got a package, yesterday, with 2 copies of the December issue of Motor Home magazine. Arline Chandler wrote another article with me in it :o With all of the women she could have chosen, including all of you sistahs, I feel pretty special  At least there are two other women featured in the article. I thought I was just going to be mentioned, but it's pretty big, with photos and all.

Barbie...This scam stuff and your dad really worries me! I try to get my mom to not answer her phone when she doesn't know the caller, but she insists she may miss something she needs to know, like election information. That is exactly the stuff I don't miss about having a land line! I just pray she doesn't fall for one of those scams.

Sheila...If I was out there, I would be there in a hearbeat! Wish you had a gennie! At least you're at a casino. It could be much worse! Keep us posted.

Beth...Time will tell about Amazon. My gut says the Legacy FCs are being replaced by the newer, larger, automated FCs.

Linda, Just got my Motorhome magazine, will have to read that article! Cool! What happened to your ankle? Be careful with that ear infection, that can be dangerous if not taken care of right away.

Sheila, I hope you get that truck fixed soon! You sure have had a lot of problems with it. Hopefully, you can get down to Q soon!

I read the article when Motorhome mag came. Good article but I wished she had chosen to write about 3 different living situations, such as you working while rv'ing, and people like Liz who travels and visits such interesting places but does not work and Judy who works via Internet and phone. You know so people could get an idea of different ways of living full time in an RV. Anyhow it was so much fun to open the magazine and go HEY I know her and recognize that RV Myrtle!! LOL
As to taking only the 2 pills of z PAC. Very bad idea, ESP if you don't know for sure it's a bacterial infection. Too many antibiotic resistant infections being developed from exactly that, taking the full course is the only way to go and only when for sure it's a bacterial infection. I'm so sorry you are hurting. I hope you get to see a competent medical person today and get that ear looked at. If it were me and I had a delay before seeing a doctor, I would take an decongestant to help open up the tube from throat up to ear, a pain reliever such as tylenol or Motrin , and use heat as you did. If its a middle ear infection those drops likely won't do much except maybe comfort. There are some very nasty virus going around. Im still coughng from one after two weeks! So sorry your ankle is a problem too.

Dissention in the ranks! My dad has a very important doctor appointment on Friday. I can't take him because I have to work all day. My two brothers are fighting over who will take him. One brother wants me to reschedule it to make it more convenient for him. I told him it can't be rescheduled because it needs to be done ASAP. The other brother is PO'd with him for throwing a wrench into the whole thing saying he will do it but on his schedule, but the other one says he is about to lose his job if he takes time off...and so it goes. I will probably end up having to switch my schedule with someone elses to take him myself.

My dad had prostate cancer about 6 years ago. It was treated with radiation "seeds" and he had no signs of it a year later. Just recently he has complained of urinary problems and lower back/hip/pelvic pain. He had a hip replaced 4 years ago so he has been seeing his hip surgeon about the pain thinking it is from that. But the surgeon can't find any reason for the pain and even a cortisone shot didn't help. Last week he went back to his regular doctor about his bladder issues and had some tests done and was referred to a urologist, which was scheduled for three weeks from now. A few days ago his doctor called and said he found something of concern in the tests and wants him in to see the urologist ASAP. That appointment was rescheduled for this Friday. I am now thinking his PSA count is the issue and the pain he has been having is related to his prostate which I read is a common symptom. Am hoping I am wrong tho. That is why it is important for one of us to be there with him to get the whole scoop on what is going on. If my brothers screw this up, I will really be livid!

Oh Barbie! Sending prayers that it isn't anything bad. You're probably right, tho, you're going to have to reschedule your work to take your dad. Sounds like stalling tactics from your bro's in order to get you to cave in and take him.

Velda...I did go in to the urgent care on Sunday. She gave me an RX for a Z-pack so I can finish it. I agree with you, completely,on antibiotic resistant bugs. I rarely take anitbiotics. I hate taking them! She took one look in my ears and said the left one is extremely red!!! Duh! She wanted me to take a decongestant, as well, but a pharmacist, in the past, recommended I avoid them since I'm taking a beta blocker for heart flutters and a-fib, as decongestants can cause those problems. She did give me an RX for cough syrup with codeine and some numbing drops for the ear. I take Robitussin DM (Walmart brand) during the day and the codeine one at night. It does thin the mucus. The drops haven't really helped, so I switched to lukewarm EVOO, this morning, to see if it works. Seems to feel better than those drops, but still can't hear anything but ringing. Putting heat on it, too. I took yet another day off work, today  This is very expensive! Was going to see if I could get in to see an ENT, but found out it would be out of pocket, towards my deductible. Since the urgent care only cost me a $20 copay, I'll tough it out until they open, tomorrow, and follow up, as the Dr recommended. If she sends me to an ENT, then I will have to bite the bullet. She did notice the remnants of the bad rash I had on my neck. That started in NJ, so thought it was either an allergic reaction to my safety vest or food, or part of the withdrawal I had from Zyrtec. She thinks maybe shingles. Maybe. So....I showed her the weird, recurring rash on my forearm. She said it is clearly a bullseye and asked me if I had ever been bitten by a tick. Of course! I live in the woods, most of the time. You guessed it! She suspects Lyme Disease :? I said I didn't get bit there. She said it's not necessarily at the site. She wrote up a lab order for blood work, which also includes thyroid, Lupus, and other things. Called my ins company. It would cost me out-of-pocket, towards my deductible, at tier 2. It would cost me less, if I go in IA or NE. I may be going to Mom's for Christmas, so will wait. Hey, if it is Lyme, I've had it a couple of years, OK? The Dr said if I hadn't already started the Z-pack, she would have had me take the antibiotic they treat Lyme with. She said she could give me an RX for it and I could take it after I finish the Z-pac. I will probably do that. GEESH!!! When it rains, it pours, doesn't it?

Barbie...I pray the cancer has not returned on your dad. Also, that your brothers will step up to the plate and help. A big reason you moved back to MN was to help your dad. God knew ;) Take comfort in knowing that and keep doing what you can. If any of us sistahs were close, you know we would help. We would really make your brothers look bad  Not to mention the hell we would give them!

Linda, so sorry your ear atil hurts. So glad you got to see someone. Hope you get relief soon as ear pain is just plain horrible. Hope it isn't Lyme but if it is that treating it helps prevent further problems. Yes it's good to be aware of avoiding decongestants, I am careful of that because I take a BP pill. I like my "robitussin in pill form" in the form of Mucinex. I have always disliked the taste of Robitussin and Mucinex works for me. Been taking it for two weeks now though much less often to get past this after cold cough. Nasty virus's! Take care of your self, hopefully you will soon be recovering.
I so enjoyed the article in Motorhome and it was so fun to know you here than read about you in the magazine.
