Prayers answered-thank you

Postby ohlucy05 » Wed Mar 11, 2009 5:25 pm

I want to thank all of you who said a prayer for my son and my granddaughter. (previous thread: prayers please.) He has full legal and physical custody for quite a while (6 months.) It will give them a chance to establish normal (work and school and not worry about mom taking granddaughter out of state or unsafe enviroment.)He is also learning about all that parenting alone entails.

And she asked son to draw up papers for custody agreement.

I thought when I heard that I would be very happy but instead I found myself very sad for the mother and the child and my son. Lost opportunities. I hope that with time all things heal and that each has a good relationship because that is what GD needs.

I guess the other lesson that I learned is that I raised a man. He was not angry. He was concerned about the safety and well being of his daughter. He also figured out what he wanted in that regard and moved forward. It makes a mom proud to see a son act responsibly(sp) He is a chip off the old block (dad is just like him.)That might be why we have been married for 31 years.

Again thank you.

So glad things are coming together for your GD and Son. My son went through that with his two children, but he battled it forward and raised them. Hope things continue to go well for your son, glad you are there for them both.

Thanks, Lucy, for the happy update!

So nice to hear when things work out in a happy way for all concerned. But I also understand your sadness about what might have been. Sometimes things just aren't designed to be the 'what might have been.'

Be happy, and hug those kids...all of them!

Great to hear that things worked out so well. And great that your son is a responsible dad. Good to hear.
