Pam had to cancel, so it looks like we will have a couple of mini GTGs, which can be just as much fun as a big one. Donna, are you going to be able to come any of those days?
Looks like the gtg lines up this way:
Reserved Sites:
Liz, site #10, October 19-31 (I will be there two weeks because I have some doctor appts. In Ocala during that time.)
Karen S, site #6, October 23-26
Soos, site #7, October 26-31
Oma, site #17, October 24-26
Maybes:
grammynmaggie (Donna)
Day trip:
Trixie
Dawn
MizDeb
So, Karen, Oma and I will gtg Oct. 23-26 and
Soos and I will gtg Oct. 26-31
Day trippers just let us know what day(s) will work for you, and we'll work around it and plan a potluck that day. No sense in planning a formal (do we do anything formal?) potluck unless we know there will be more than two or three of us. Walmart is just a half mile away if we need anything.
Things to do at the park:
Museum and Cracker Village (weekends)
Hiking and biking trails
Kayaking...your own or rental. I have two, so can loan one.
Glass bottom boat rides
Horseback Riding Trail rides
In the area:
Oct. 25 is the 1890's Days Fall Festival in McIntosh
Visit Cross Creek, home of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, Pulitzer Prize winning author of "The Yearling."
Singing boat tour of the Rainbow River (Dunnelon)
Local museums
Ocala National Forest
Boat tours on the Silver and Ocklawaha Rivers by Capt. Tom
Canyons Zip Line & Canopy Tours
