Check out the gtg thread.....there will be experienced Q folks making there way there this winter. Your questions are probably best answered there and besides everyone can learn more....

isym, there is a group of us that go every year, look in the GTG thread for Quartszite 2015. The expert on it is Sheila. She spends all winter there, I only go for a week or so.

I moved this to the general talk forum for you. Then I noticed the topic in boondocking - which was a good fit, also - but not everyone who goes there boondocks - so I merged the two and left both here in General Talk - hope I don't confuse you too much! And, yes, I'll go there for a short time this winter - maybe a couple short times. Sheila (snowball) will be there all winter - and lots of others will be there at various times. As Tina said, we'll probably have some sort of gtg (and a thread is going about it in that room) during the big to-do in Q in January.

Yes it is a big parking lot and lots and lots of Canadians...but you aren't on top of each other unless you want to be as there is oh forgot
how many acres of blm land there are 4 long term areas Long term areas you can find a spot plant yourself have use of water and dump (not at each site but one of the area's have it) so you haul both clear water and black water or you can have a honey wagon come out think it's about 35 dollars a dump...it cost 180 dollars for the season which is from Sept 15 to April 15...or you can park for up to 14 days free and then you have to move a certain amount of feet but no water or dump access. Again there would be honey wagons or you can go into town...
there are grocery stores, venders, restaurants, churches, once a month craft fair...stuff going on all the time join the QIA they have so much going on
dances, classes, bingo there are jams at all the rv parks there is a gem club
oh yes laundromats one has showers...and we are only 20 miles from Ca 78 Miles from Yuma which makes us about 84 miles from MX 129 or so from Phoenix and 72 miles from Lake Havasue...32 from Parker we even have our resident nekked bookseller we have all you can wish for I'm sure!!
someone asked me what there is to do in the desert my comment was if you get bored it's your fault you didn't look enough...will be in North La Posa when you come down give me a yell and I'll guide you about if you wish..

Come on down! It is a fun time. Although, in the desert, it can be very cold. I always recommend warm clothes and sleep wear, and a pair of shorts in case the weather does turn warm! One never knows!?!?!
Each group has their own site, but one is mostly welcome anywhere. ALL should experience Q once. Lyn

If you're not ready to try full-fledged boondocking, there are campgrounds with hookups all around Q. As I mentioned earlier, we'll be staying in Blythe, about 20ish miles from Q, because we want hookups. Not having a build-in generator with 3 dogs makes boondocking a bit more challenging, in my opinion. Just more to manage, and when you're trying to relax after a stressful week at work, hassling with all the equipment isn't my idea of peace and quiet.

So maybe you'd want to try boondocking for a few days, and then find somewhere with hookups for a few more. But don't wait too long for reservations at a CG -- they fill up!
