Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday, got it!

Postby carolb » Mon Oct 06, 2014 5:17 am

G'morning to all:)

And a very good morning for me--IT'S HERE! Yep, I have a garage :P  If I could remember how to post pix, I'd do so, but alas, you'll just have to believe me ..& after all, it's just a garage, not a new baby   But thanks to all of you for sharing (tolerating) my garage saga :D

OMG, lol'ed over the military base stories! Have always wondered what they'd do if one took a wrong turn--glad to know they don't "arrest/interrogate/throw-you-in-jail-for-suspected-acts-of-terrorism-against-the-US"!

Crikey, cold here too! Close to freezing in the a.m. (38deg) & only up to 55 yesterday, We're headed for winter, never mind fall! BJ, I love warm applesauce on these cools days--get to cookin' girl! And now my thoughts turn to meeting up with those of you already in warmer parts of the country!

Y'all have a great day & safe travels always! 8-)

Ooorah !!!! Carolb, has a garage !!! Finally !!! Glad for you, got it filled yet ??

Coolish here, I'm liking it a lot . Last day in CG, BIL will pick me up tomorrow. Many things I want to do before leaving my home for 5 weeks. Trying not to wish my life away, but I will be glad when this dependent time is over.

Wishing you all a good day, take time for a little fun time, those on the road, enjoy for the rest of us ,

Stay Safe,
CArol :)

Good morning, all! So finally you got your garage, Carol! Know you're glad to have that one checked off the list! I finally broke down and turned the heat on for the whole house yesterday. I've been using the heater in the kitchen up until now but the rest of the house was just too cool to be comfortable. Oh well, it had to happen. They changed the forecast for this week so now I'm wondering if I want to go somewhere or call to get Lola winterized! It's getting pretty cold at night!

I laughed about the military base stories! Made me think about the time when we were stationed overseas in the 70s. A friend and I loaded the 5 kids in our van and headed out for a little afternoon sightseeing. I got turned around and ended up at the border crossing between Holland and Germany! The guard asked where we were heading and I had to admit I was lost and just wanted to turn around! He looked at us and looked in and saw the kids, shook his head and let me turn around! We still laugh about it! I wonder if it was now if it would have gone as easy! I still don't know just where we were but we got home eventually! Maps and GPS do have their place! When I decide to use them! Sometimes getting lost is kinda fun!

Sounds like many of you are getting out of the cold and heading south to warmer climates! Donna, glad the rest of your trip has been uneventful and you're almost to your destination. Hope everyone has a great day, travel safe!

Finally! A garage! I couldn't live without a garage! LOL! Now you can head out for warmer climate.

Not a lot going on here, as usual, going to town today for a few errands. Son fixed my back up camera yesterday...yay! He said it might not stay fixed but showed me what to do if it goes again. He also showed me how to get the full picture back when it switches to quarter picture. Can't believe it was so simple. The last time it happened a couple of years ago the tech had me go thru about 200 steps to get it. One step the way son did it. The kid sometimes amazes me. Sometimes I even amaze myself...he was showing future nephew how to wire a 3 way switch. I walked up and Les said, Mom, show him how it's done. Dang if I didn't remember how to do it. :D Just got lucky. I try to forget everything I learned on the job so I don't have to do it! LOL!

Hope everyone is having a great day, looks like a good one here. Thunder and lightening show at 2AM and heavy downpour...the Samcat decided wrapped around my neck was a good place to be and the Chewmonster dived under the covers and got up next to my stomach. Queen bed is a waste of space in this coach!!

Ah, I can breathe because that dang garage finally showed up!

CArol, you have been very patient, and I can understand wishing the next weeks were over. Just remember the fun you'll have after!

The military was much nicer and easier than when I accidentally got on the bridge from Michigan into Canada 3 years ago. They got me turned around on the U.S. side, traffic was jammed up coming back into Michigan and worker made cars stop to let me cut in line. The air turned blue behind me from all the swearing by the drivers in line and I didn't blame them. Had to get out of truck to get Passport out of the camper. Customs guy wasn't very understanding about how I missed all the signs - gee, wall to wall traffic and road construction to pay attention to.

Looking forward to the drive today to Durango and the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football!

Have a great day everyone and safe travels.

My sister works on an Army base and I went to the company picnic with her one year. We were in my 27' motorhome that had bays like a Class A and was full of junk. They x-rayed my motorhome. I sure would have liked to have seen that picture. We went to a museum on a Navy base in Florida and they only ask if we had any guns.

The Christmas my son and I stayed at a campground on a base they had rent-a-guards on the gate. We were in and out of there all week with just my son's military ID. The last night we were there they had MP's on the gate and they wanted to know where some pass was that we were suppose to have. The office was closed so they told us to go in the morning. He said ok we would get one but we were leaving in the morning anyway.

Every year we talk about building a metal building on our property North of here so we would have somewhere to evacuate some of our junk too. Hurricane season is almost over so guess we can start the discussion again in April.

Way way too hot here in Napa. I rode my bike and am waiting to see the hand surgeon. Hope he will fix trigger finger and carpal tunnel on other hand thAt returned a week ago. Good timing! Both hands really ache so will be glad to get something done.

Will be posting photos of earthquake damage tonight. Daughter-in-law very lucky because glass antique hurricane lamps that belonged to her grandmother never budged from fireplace mantel thanks to museum/earthquake gel son had used.

Dermatologist is afternoon. Going to verizon office today also since it is near doctors.

Had a flat tire once in Scotland but have no idea where because I was lost. Lucky I could tell road service I was near a golf club they knew. Pouring down rAin and took two hours but got to go to tire place and get excellent restaurant recommendations from mechanics. Very hard to understand but they were very funny and spoke slowly for me so I could understand them.

Love these getting lost adventures because sometimes you remember them best and longest.

Carol, glad you finally got that garage! :D

I was sure glad this morning, that I have a garage now. Frost on all the car windows this morning! No more scraping that off my windows this winter!

Hope you all have a good night!
