Damp Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Damp Friday

Hello all,

Where is everybody this morning, it's already past 9:30  Haven't been on here in what seems like an eternity. Ah, just been busy. Getting the "outdoor chores" done before old man winter starts knocking at the door. Back yard hose put away, annuals taken out of flowerbeds, snow blower greased and oil changed, TT is all winterized and covered up for season, lot of other little piddly things done. And then this past Monday I headed north to the U.P. again. Am at my favorite resort right now, and it's been a not so nice week weather wise, but have ben doing thing anyway. Was a bit rough first couple of days as this is the first time I have ever come up here in almost 13 years and no do along. Shed a few tears when I first got here at the memories of it all. Fine now.

Color is pretty much past peak here although the yellows are hitting their stride now. Have seen about 5 deer this week including the three that I was watching last night feeding under the apple trees at the resort here. A doe with her two fawns.

Boy, from skimming the past MC's and not even getting to the other threads, I see I have a lot of catch up on. Gotta get busy.

On the dog front, I have so far found on 19 mo. female collie looking for a new home, and two breeders expecting litters this month So have the contacts out. Want to go see the 19 mo one this coming week I hope.

Okay, not going to sit and gab away here. Time to get a move on. Y'all have a nice day out there.

Good Morning, Break time here, got back last night. Not driving I sure was wore out . Denise only stopped for gas and I'd take Maggie out for potty. Haven't traveled non stop for ages and by the time we got here I was thinking, " I think I might be getting old " :D This morning after good shower and shampoo, feeling not so old  Busy day, but pacing myself, if it doesn't get done before my ride to sisters comes, I'll get a chance soon to catch up everything and maybe having a more normal life, for me, my way.

Haven't read last few days of MC, hoping everyone is well and having fun on the road or stopped . Most of all I hope you all and families are well. Enjoy your day, my breaks over,

CArol :)

Sue, have you checked to see if there are any other collie rescue groups near you? Or maybe consider a sheltie instead of a collie? I know Wisconsin has a great sheltie rescue. Do you check Craigs List at all, or Petfinder.com?

Wow, we went from summer to fall to winter in just 5 days! It was 80 and gorgeous last weekend and now it is 40, blustery, rainy with snow flurries mixed in! Ack!!
People here are dreading the winter coming, after last years horrid winter. I have heard two predictions, one is from the Farmers Almanac saying we are in for another winter like last year, and one from the National Weather Service saying we will have El Nino bringing in warmer than normal temps for the winter here. I am pulling for El Nino!!

Off to work here shortly. 8 days in a row before I get a day off again. :( That is why I don't like having two days off in a row. It seems to take forever to get another day off again after that.

Hope those of you heading south, have safe travels, and those who are having health issues (yourself or family) heal quickly!

Have a great day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Hooray! Almost noon and the sun is out with a bright blue sky!!! Casey, the cat and I have had enough of the rain thunder, lightening! Poor Casey was very scared when those loud thunder claps occurred. Catherine is a wonderful host, but I must get a move on...going south to visit the nephew and his family. Lyn

good morning ladies
catching up on a few posts as my morning unfolds, I'm already ready to do a nap. ;)
Good news in my life....a couple of my old friends from Colorado (from the bus yard) are ready to do the snowbird
thing and coming to stay here in the park. Its jello plans for now cause the two available rentals on doggy row are
under remodel and the park will let them know when one gets finished but they have reserved for Dec, Jan and Feb.
I'm so excited and gotta remember its jello for now, but if it happens it will be alot of fun. :D
Maggie and Scout romping and playing nonstop lately, think the nice weather has gotten them really excited.
Ok, off to get my nap, ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Ack Barbie keep that snow up there! I've heard the same re forecast for winter. I'm seeing those wooly worms that are dark brown and cinnamon colored stripe like I saw last fall. :( I guess we will know before long. At least I have my AWD vehicle now so hopefully deep snow won't matter that much, of course if ice...Oh well right now it is perfect out, and we got 2 !/2 inches of rain during the night!!! Everything was so dry and dusty it was a very welcome rain.
The rain didn't stop whoever stole a bicycle from the neighbor down the street. She called the police this morning and they told her they though they had it :? Apparently whoever took it left it behind at another place they robbed. A police dog was able to track the bike back to their house. I had my bedroom window and the dogs and I slept through all the action. It is usually a really quiet street although once in awhile there will be an episode of an unlocked car having money or items taken.
I still haven't faced the apples that are waiting form me to transform into applesauce or pie. Think I feel a nap coming on, maybe I have fall fever.

Lyn, how far south are you headed?

Not damp here in Napa. Supposed to be 97 next three days before cooling down to high 80s.

Rode my bike 5 miles to grand kids school to walk them 3/4 mile to their house because only a half day of school today. Got in late yesterday so did not see them then. Five minutes to dismissal bell. After parents get home and we eat, kids will come back with me to spend the night in RV which they enjoy. Pancakes and sausage for breakfast, of course.
