Good morning
I was up before daylight again with only 4 hours sleep. Not going to make my drive today easy. I seem to have reentered the land of allergies - stopped up head, sneezing, etc. One more night on the road then home. At least tonight I should be back in familiar territory - west TN. Know Nicky will be happy to get off his leash and run.
Getting up so early had one advantage - I can ease into the morning instead of having to rush around.
Need to absorb a little more coffee then pack everything back up for todays journey. Fog should lift quickly as the sun rises.
Wishing all a great day.

Good Morning,

Kathleen, glad the gals stopped for a visit!

Sarah, you aren't having the best of trips getting home! Too bad you couldn't just sit today.

I spent yesterday in Manhattan doing this and that. Planned to go back to the COE, but people were already arriving for tomorrow's football game so reserved signs etc. I was too hot and tired to get out and read them so came back to the farm and my own private campground! Not a big deal except was very hot in here and no electric. Cooled down nicely for sleeping tho.

Going out to a cemetery near where I spent the first 10 years of my life to take better photos for genealogy. Then will be the museum in Clay Center. Tonight the grands play at half time for high school football game.

Safe travels to all on the road, but Donna, don't drive too fast to catch Liz! :D

Sad to see Friday I want Thursday back!!! Had a great visit with CarolB and Peg. Carol the tiny ants are back... sprayed the counters with defense now will let it set and then use bleach to clean them off... they do not seem to have a trail... would like to set off a bomb under the sink maybe that is where they are coming in. Such is fall when all the unwanted bugs and creatures want to come inside where it is warm...
Today I take Shadow to the vet for his heart worm test. Strange they will not let you buy the heart worm med unless you have an office visit and blood drawn... geessssh a few hundred dollars down... but what a pretty drive it is to my vet Small Animal Rescue...
Glad the tires are all fixed Donna you better be in shape when you catch up to Liz... she is a go go go gal!!
Anita your trip to the cemetery reminded me of going into very old cemeteries and reading the head stones... one could write a book about them!
Sarah homeward bound! Thanks for the help with the picture it is now in the gtg thread!
I have no idea what life would be like without you gals...
Have a great day
Kathleen or Kathy

good morning ladies
certainly had a hard time this morning wrapping my head around the fact it was "friday" and I had to go back to work.
I am certainly dreaming of the day when there is no time clock. Finally got the fence up in the back, plus a little gate.
Need to do a little stabilizing, paint and add the landscaping, then I'll be happy with that project and call it done. I'll
get pictures when its finished.
I've certainly enjoyed all the pictures of the gtg. Gives me a big smile seeing the girls I've met and anticipating
meeting more as time goes on.
Just about time for my nap, but will cruise through a few more posts and fb and get on with it. Ya'll have a great day
and be safe.

Good Morning, It is another beautiful one here, Sarah wish you had come this way you could have rested and we could have visited a few days. Donna glad you are going to see Liz, your grand baby is sure a sweetie. Anita sure hope it cools down for you especially with no ac hookup.

I am taking a trip down memory lane reading all my old diaries while DH is gone, no wonder my grades took a plunge in high school, I never stayed home. Some years are interesting reading, others I probably should burn. I have enjoyed the poems, plays and stories I wrote for creative writing classes in college. Then there are the years I spent trying to decide where and whether to move to the west coast and my thoughts during and after living in San Diego. I also found an article I had saved from a McCall's August 1975 magazine by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. The title is "Gift From The Sea" Reopened, it is excerpts from the book she had written 20 years ago and the description of her feelings after a recent rereading. I think her ideas on the difficulties of being a woman are still very relevant today. It also made me fondly remember the magazines that we waited anxiously for each month that had three or four short stories and a novel and weren't mostly advertisement.

Well it is way past noon and I am just getting back to this. A friend came by with her 30% off coupon to Kohls so we had to go shopping of course. We found lots of good bargains.

Off the road for the night. Overall the drive wasn't too bad but the last 25 miles on I-40 I was nodding off so decided to stop. Glad I did, found a nice park with helpful staff and easy hook up for my 10 ft hose so I can dump and rinse tanks. Been plugged in just long enough to get the A/C going as it is close to 90 here.
Need to dig out some clean clothes and get shower - know that will make me sleep better tonight.

BJ - I seriously thought about swinging up by there to see you but decided I needed to get on home. How long before it gets cold up there? I might have one more little excursion left in me before winter. Maybe Mitch will be back home by then and we can talk her or others into joining us.

Anita - yes, it is strange on return trip. My trip west was close to perfect but a bit rougher going back. Only one more day and I am quite content where I a tonight - or will be as soon as I get that shower and some food.

It is late again for me to be posting but was busy today and I am not allowing myself to get on line tomorrow since I have so much to do. Once I get ahold of my laptop, I can't seem to get off of it for hours, so no laptop for me tomorrow!

Found out today that there is a studio apartment available next month here. I have been asking about getting into one for awhile now. The owner offered it to me for $625/mo which is really a good deal and will save me $105 each month! It is a good sized studio with a large bedroom area, good sized kitchen with an island and breakfast bar and lots of closet space. The living room is small but I only have a loveseat, coffee table, and a small TV stand, which will all fit in there fine. It also faces the lake and is away from the street, which now drives me crazy with all the traffic noise right under my bedroom window. This place would be really bad in the winter with the snow plows going by all night long! So it will be much quieter and more private on that side of the complex, with a much better view! It will be an easy move since it is just down the other end of the hall from where I am now.

Oh, and he also said he will have new carpet put in and new hardwood floors in the kitchen and entry way, and new fixtures put in the bathroom before I move in. He wanted to know if I wanted granite counter tops too, for a little more rent, but I turned that down.

They are also working on fixing up the beach area and I asked about getting a place to launch a kayak and he said he would do that and get a rack to put it on near the beach. They are going to build a deck overlooking the lake and I asked about a fire pit and he said he could do that too! (I should have asked about putting in a swimming pool while I was at it!). So lots of great changes around here! (And the owner loves my ferrets!) So happy I moved back here when I did!

I went shopping today with the gift cards I got from my golf league. Went to Macy's and got a nice waffle iron on sale and some other kitchen things. Then went to Golfsmith and looked at golf shoes. They were really expensive ($100+) so I passed on that (only $50 gift card) and got a small golf bag and a golf DVD.

So, all in all, it was a very good day! I need more of those! Tomorrow I will be cleaning up my apartment in case they want to start showing it.

Hope you all have a great night and a great day tomorrow! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sarah it shouldn't be cold here until November. The 2nd and 3rd weeks of Oct. are usually really pretty, It would be great to see you and anyone else that might want to come this way. Besides Crab Orchard Lake campground there is also Wayne Fitzgerald State Park about 30 miles away. But Crab Orchard has many good spots and even though I don't think they take reservations it isn't busy Mon- Thurs. There will be a lot of festivals and fun things going on during that time plus the fall leaves will be really beautiful.
