Great post...my daughter lives in that area...it is beautiful with the blue ridge mts.
like that tower house...I am going to stay at that park one of these times....
that is the first milk weed I have seen in years...

Beautiful lush landscape! Looks like a little fall colors showing up, especially that little tree at your campsite.

I heard something about milkweed recently in connection with the Monarch butterfly. The milkweed which is crucial for the Monarch is disappearing due to the herbicide based agriculture in the Midwest. Here is a link to an article, telling about the drastic decrease in the Monarchs in recent years.
