OMG! There are Green Cows in Kansas! I wonder if this has anything to do with that wizard I heard about.

I will be there Friday somewhere between 2 and 4 o'clock. I'm going to a grocery store and liquor shopping before I get there. Anyone running low on anything? I can pick it up on my way in. I'll check the forum before I go shopping.

What a great bunch of ladies!

Couldn't sleep last night. Got here around 11:30. It's been a beautiful day. A few actually got the kayaks out on the water during a hiatus from the wind. The rest of us got some good visiting in.
It is so cool getting to know each person a little better.

I think the dogs outnumber the humans but they are each so sweet. Nikki loves being a lap dog. And Sadie thinks this is great having so many people willing to pet her!!!

Carolb & Peggy arrived to much fanfare! So glad to have them here safe & sound. Looking forward to others joining us tomorrow.

We were already visited by the park ranger. That bail money might be needed before the weekend is over.
Tina was our spokesperson & skillfully handled everything.

Don't have a good enough connection for pics but will add a couple when I can.

Safe travels to those on the road. ....
Now to get some sleep...

Not sure what is going on with the signal tonight but I'm having trouble with it also thus no photos.
After the wet start to the day, we had 5hours of perfect weather this afternoon with no wind. By 5:00 wind was making white caps on the lake.
Great to finally get to meet Catherine and Anita face to face. Think we have 3 more arriving tomorrow that I have not meet. So exciting.
BTW: Tina convinced the ranger we were not dangerous and would be back at our sites by dark.

Finally made it here and got the monster Meatball backed in and hooked up. This is a pretty campground.

With a little Internet and some luck tonight I'm hoping to post a couple pictures. If you click on the pictures you should be able to see the part on the right that's cut off. Wednesday night some of us who arrived a little early had dinner at the Hays House Restaurant, in business since 1857.

Today some of us went into town to visit the Kaw Mission Museum, the Last Chance Store where travelers could get supplies before heading further west on the Santa Fe Trail, and ended up at the Apothecary where they had an old-fashioned soda fountain. Of course we all had to get our favorite concoction.

Right in the middle of our evening potluck a BIG storm blew up and you should have seen a bunch of old ladies scatter - big wind, thunder, lightening, rain and did I say WIND!

We decided not to go into town to see a pageant called Voices of the Wind People about the local history and the Kaw Indians. I was hoping to see some dancing and singing but the weather was just too icky.
