I am in Site 17 if you get here and know one is out and about, highly unlikely, come to my spot becuz I rarely take a nap. If the lake is smooth I could be out there, but being in KS it may not smooth out for a bit.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Thanks Birdie! I'm sure we are going to make great neighbors. One of my faves is a shot of Crown Royal over some ice chips also. (No foo foo drinks here). I'm bringing my little portable ice maker, so looks like we will be set til the Turkey flies the coop again.

great campground. Loved Council Grove, neat little town. Do wish our sites were closer together. Birdie and the other gals seem like miles away especially if you don't walk miles.

For anyone interested, on Friday and Saturday nights, in the outdoor amphitheater is a show called "Voices of the Wind People", Historical pageant of the Kaw Indians, Santa Fe Trail and Council Grove. There will be signing and dancing as well. The pageant is from 8 to 9, $12. From 7 to 8 there will be an Indian flute player. I'm in site 38 and have the programs. Maybe dinner in town first????

I am LOVING the cooler and NOT humid temps here. I have to say that much of Kansas is as boring to drive through as parts of Texas, just greener and happier looking cows. However, I do love the small towns in both Oklahoma and Kansas.

Just checked the forecast for Council Grove on the weather.com website, and looks like 80% chance of rain for Sat. Hurricane Polo left overs.

Well, I'm tellin' ya, nearly every day since last week I feel like something's telling me not to go to this GTG. I've had problems with my backups, a last minute client I had to find someone for, one dog with another ear hematoma that is scheduled for surgery tomorrow, another one with a mysterious lump on her leg that was seen today (turned out to be nothing but she has a history of skin cancers), last minute things my DH needs for his business to get done that he didn't tell me about, the girl who's taking care of my own animals (and one of my daily walks) had an emergency with her Grandfather and was at the E.R. with him yesterday (turned out ok), today I fought with my TC to get the water to fill-it kept spitting back at me so I had to tear it apart and fix the hose (finally got it filled) but it leaked inside so now I have a fan on it to dry it up. About the only thing that worked right was using Bounce sheets to get the bugs off the front of the camper--like magic! We may start out for Kansas and if something else occurs I'm just gonna park it by the side of the road and stay there!
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Just think how relaxed you can be here and don't sweat the small stuff. Actually, getting here is worth the effort - do hope you make it.

We had two more early arrivals today (Sandi and Burningdaylight) and they are in the loop with Birdie, so 3 there now. Sharon also arrived as expected and she is at far end of higher numbered campsites. She is anchoring one end of this loop and Karen and I are at other end. Everyone in both loops has a lovely water front site; only problem for some of us is the distance between the two loops.

I leave tomorrow morning!!! I can't wait to get on the road. Installed a new bike rack today. I think it will be easier to put my bike on now. I have an electric bike that weighs around 50 lbs. sometimes I have a hard time putting it back on the rack when it is time to go. I'm in site 10, I'm excited!

Hi Ladies: The good news we made it back from the snow in the Black Hills, but the bad news is the windshield wipers stopped working on our way back to Iowa. I took the brand new MH in for the warranty work and they just called and said the part won't be in till Monday. I am so mad, we won't be able to join you folks in KS. Have fun and my sister and I will be thinking about you and all the fun we will miss. Maybe next time. Thanks, Melinda.

Okay Barbie, now I want to go paint cows green. I spoke too soon about no humidity. Its high today and cloudy. Lynn (Socalgal) got here this morning. Birdie and Monik came by for a visit. We're all going into town this afternoon for dinner at the oldest restaurant in Kansas (fried chicken).
