She is soooo cute. And I know you've totally bonded already. What a lucky girl that her tail wasn't perfect, cuz that meant she found the perfect home.

Baxter says: "Hey there pretty girl. I sure hope to meet you someday. I'm very handsome and LOVE little girls."

Sophie says: " Hi Penny, I'm Sophie and I'm Queen of my house. You have to get your hoomans trained early to adore and spoil you. My trick is to sit in front of them and look up with my big, sad eyes and they just seem to melt. Next thing you know, they're petting me and telling me how cute I am. Works every time."

She sure is cute. Why did you choose that breed? Have you had one before? Our Boston Terrier Butch didn't have the markings they want for a show dog but he was perfect for us. My son would like to have another Boston but he ended up with the German Shepard Mix by default.

Martha, we've never had a Welsh, but we've had terriers. Weatherby was a Jack Russell & Ronnie's family had Scotties when he lived with them. We just looked at different breeds & did eliminations according to what we wanted & didn't want. I wanted one that didn't shed a lot, I'm still finding Weatherby's white hairs on stuff. I wanted one that was small enough that I could easily pick up, like I had to do twice in campgrounds when big dogs were running free & came after him. Ronnie didn't want a dog that was too small or too "girly". and we wanted one that had personality, like the terriers do. Then we just looked at the breeds that were left & decided.

Vickie, more people should study about what kind of dog they want so they really know what they are getting into. I have a friend that saw someone with a Giant Schnauzer and decided she wanted one. I told her not to get one, her husband told her not to get one, the lady that raised the dogs told her not to get one. Her family is like most families, both work and kids in school. A Giant Schnauzer is almost a different breed from the small schnauzers. They are herding dogs and need a lot of exercise. So guess what, they are having issues with the dog because it doesn't fit their family and doesn't get enough exercise. When an animal has been bred to do something it's really hard to go against their breeding. It's much easier to train a dog that wants to do what it's bred to do than to try to train it to not do something you don't like.
