FYI: You can get a tv converter that runs on 12V or regular AC at http://www.solidsignal.com
It also has the analog pass-through. It is the Artec T3APro. With the coupon you pay only shipping, which for me was $6.50

That's interesting! Do you mean by coupon, the coupon you get from the Government to convert your TV to the new system. And will any TV work on the 12V? That's the thing that looks like a cigarette lighter, right?

No, Sparkle---only TVs designed to run on 12 volt power will work on 12 volt power. That's why I've decided to buy me a small, inexpensive 12 volt digital TV for boondocking and use in my leanto---that way I won't need any inverter/converter/anyverter!!! Just a ciggie plug for the trailer 12 volt socket, and a clamper plug for the 12 volt battery in the leanto!
