Beth, sorry to hear that you hurt your arm.
Bats in the house, not so good. Bats in your belfry, even worse.
When I was camping on diamond lake I would take my chair out under the trees near the lake edge and watch the bat ballet just after dark. Lots of swooping and somersault like moves. They'd fly straight at me and then do a steep climb or hard turn. They didn't get close, but it was still thrilling.

Tonight I'm in Sand Point BLM campground in the hills above Moab, Utah. Sites are far apart and it feels like I'm alone at the top of the world. So beautiful. Drove through Arches National Park, this afternoon. Another other worldly landscape. The weather was hot so I didn't get any exercise. Haven't for a few days so a long walk is coming up soon. Found another BLM campground on RV Sue's blog near Blanding. I'll check that out tomorrow and maybe stay a few days. Need to find a place to dump tanks and take on more water. I'm tired, happy, and healthy. Life is good.

All is fine at my sons house in Napa. Kids were in Modesto with grandparents and wife visiting a friend for the weekend so he was alone with cats. Cats headed out cat door at first shaking. Stuff from shelves and walls all over floor and hutch fell over but nothing important broken. Had water all the time and lost power only for a very short time. Lucky they live on north end of town.

Glad to hear that everyone's family in CA is doing OK after the quake. I lived in the SF Bay Area for many years and remember vividly how scary it is to have the earth move.

I made it to Sand Island, the BLM campground I read about on RV Sue's blog. It's just as she said and I'm glad to be tucked in here for a few days. Unless something changes, I'll hangout for three or four days and figure out what's next. Visited the area around Canyonlands National Park today. There's a long road that I think leads to the park. I drove and drove but never saw a gate even though I know there is one. When the landscape is as huge and exotic and vast as this one, a few hours is enough for me even if I haven't seen everything. I get overwhelmed and long ago made peace with knowing that I'll never see it all or read it all or taste it all, etc. Another 3-4 hours of mindblowing beauty is enough for one day. Driving and looking are hard work.

I won my golf tournament! Yay! :D I didn't play that well tonight and figured I had no chance to win, but later found out I tied with another gal. We had to go back out for a playoff on one of the holes. I played well and beat her! A great way to end the all-too-short golf season! Our banquet is in two weeks where they give out the prizes for the team winners and tournament winners.

Between getting my garage this morning, and then this, it's been a good day today! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I lost my friend Jane. Her husband called today to let me know she passed away last night, all her family were with her. I will miss her so much. We had such interesting and far-ranging conversations on just about any topic you could think of. She fought the cancer really hard. I pray her spirit can rest now.
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Kathy - sad to hear about your friend Jane. Know that you were a good friend to her. Prayers & ((hugs)) to you & her family.

Kathleen - what happened to your MH roof?

Sarah - Glad to hear Nicki if doing well. Hope I didn't miss any update on test results

Sandi - Am sending good thoughts your way for Krissi - it's hard when they get older, but the bad teeth could cause other problems.

BJ -   at Toby & Mitzi turning on your TV. Hopefully they won't kick her out of her puppy class for barking - they should be helping you with that, not kicking you out.

And - - - Vicki - - - new puppy? When did I miss that and have there been pics yet?

I feel like I have been on the road all day. Harold woke me up about 5:00 this morning because he couldn't get his TV to come on. It had been doing some strange things and it had bit the dust. After I had my coffee and got dressed I headed out to find a TV. I needed a 42 inch one because it had to fit in the entertainment center. That size was hard to find. There are a lot of 50 inch and larger TVs. I guess I could have ordered one but I didn't want to hear Harold whine waiting for one to get here. I finally got it hooked up and working so he's happy. Our answer machine is a goner too. The only ones I could find were the kind with 3 or 4 phones and I just wanted the answer machine. We get so many junk phone calls that they must have worn our machine out. It's so easy to let calls we don't recognize go to the machine. Saves having to argue with scammers.
