Beth, sorry to hear that you hurt your arm.
Bats in the house, not so good. Bats in your belfry, even worse.
When I was camping on diamond lake I would take my chair out under the trees near the lake edge and watch the bat ballet just after dark. Lots of swooping and somersault like moves. They'd fly straight at me and then do a steep climb or hard turn. They didn't get close, but it was still thrilling.
Tonight I'm in Sand Point BLM campground in the hills above Moab, Utah. Sites are far apart and it feels like I'm alone at the top of the world. So beautiful. Drove through Arches National Park, this afternoon. Another other worldly landscape. The weather was hot so I didn't get any exercise. Haven't for a few days so a long walk is coming up soon. Found another BLM campground on RV Sue's blog near Blanding. I'll check that out tomorrow and maybe stay a few days. Need to find a place to dump tanks and take on more water. I'm tired, happy, and healthy. Life is good.
