Paul Nelson Farms, a pheasant ranch here in SD. I'll work housekeeping and some food prep.

I'm amazed how something so inexpensive and looking like it's doing nothing makes such a difference. A man came in the store last night and looked at it and said, hurt your elbow, eh? His wife used one for quite awhile. Told me she swears by it.

When I got back from my 5,200 mile trip in May/June, my rig was a mess with bugs and everything else. It was quite a job to get the whole thing clean including the roof. It looked great, but a day or two after that big washing I could barely use my right arm. I used to play racquetball and at one time was so hooked on playing that I tore up my elbow because I didn't want to stop playing. Having been through that, I knew that resting it and making a point of only using my left arm would solve the problem. I had tried the elbow bands and they didn't help much. But in about 3 weeks after washing my rig and not using my arm as much as possible, especially for anything heavy, it was completely healed. So Beth, I believe if you really concentrate on resting your arm, it will heal fairly quickly. Good luck and I hope your next assignment goes well.

I did find out today that the truck in the shape it's in now is worth about 6000 if in better condition would be worth 9000...also has only 238000 for a diesel not bad...the used chip is about 300 so we are continuing looking

It is not uncommon to get 300,000 plus miles from a diesel. Unfortunately the bodies tend to rust out first. As long as it's mechanically sound I guess I would try to get 2 more years out of it. Note: while many people do it, a 35' 5er on a 2500 is a lot of trailer for that size truck.

Good luck.

My fleet:
2004 F350 about 120,000 miles hope to get 300,000 miles
1999 GMC Jimmy 110,00 miles
1998 Olds LSS 111,000 miles

Best of all. Paid for!

I had been resting my arm. Didn't work at all. I'm sure the injuries are different. I have a very noticeable difference as soon as I put the band on. Talked to a man last night. His wife's injury sounded similar to mine and without the band, no healing. With it, she still needed 6 months. It's only days, but I totally believe in the band right now. Mine was an injury to the elbow, not overuse.

Dave and I had a great visit with CArol, Dawn and Paul. Good food and new friendships formed. As soon as I'm able I'll post a picture. Can't wait to meet everyone else! CArol is just down the road from me. I think another visit is in order and of course Dawn and Paul are welcome also. It was a fun time :D

Mine both times was a strained tendon which connects to the elbow. Perhaps yours is different. I put one of the bands on at Walmart and then tried to lift something rather small and it still hurt the same. That's why I didn't get it. How did you injure your elbow? Was it struck by something?

Sandi, not sure about Beth, but my elbow issue is just at the elbow. Not sure how it started many years ago, but possibly using computer and mouse, gripping needle doing needlework. It sounds like yours was entire forearm with the vehicle washing and possibly why the band wouldn't work? Mine flares from time to time, but gripping the steering wheel has been the worst in a long time. The band has worked wonders especially since I have been driving long days. I am getting to rest the elbow this week so will see if that helps. See you soon!!!

Sandi, I banged the elbow. The band puts pressure on the tendon and makes a big difference in my pain. I can lift things, don't need pain meds when wearing it, don't get the numbness in my fingers. It won't heal my elbow but is wonderful. My arm hurts more in the mornings after resting all night. Go figure!

Sorry, something to think about - more soreness in the am is very typical of arthritis. :( The fact that the band works, to me clearly indicates a strained tendon. A bone bruise I think will take awhile to clear up.

There was a bat in my house last night!!!! I had to chase it out!!!

That was waaaaay too much excitement, for sure. (Especially on top of the flu. :( ) The William got up to supervise, but he was not thrilled at having his sleep disturbed.

I'm sure the tendon is strained also. I have confidence in the doctors diagnosis and treatment plan. The more soreness is most likely due to position of the arm. I'm not doing well at keeping it straight while sleeping. He gave me tricks to try to avoid using anything on the arm at night. I'm still working on them.

Bats in the attic, good. In the house, not my thing, either. Laughing at The William supervising, reluctantly.

Poor old guy. I woke him up with my noise and lights, and his joints were pretty stiff. He wasn't going to leave me alone, but I'm pretty sure he was thinking "Couldn't you just leave it alone? It's only flying around."

When you injure a joint it seems to take a long time to heal, if they ever do. It's been 5 years since I dislocated my shoulder and it still hurts. I must have pulled some tendons in my upper arm because that hurts more than my shoulder. I sprained both wrists in the 7th grade and over the years I have done things that had them flair up again.

The storm door latch broke and I thought about going to Lowe's this afternoon to get a new latch but was too lazy. I should have gone because we might have some bad weather coming through tonight. Guess we will have to put some twine on it so we can tie it closed tonight.

I better go feed my barn cats before it gets dark or rains. I can hear some thunder already.
