Morning all,

Quick hi as I am going to be rolling out of this park a bit later. Time to start moving back down toward home. Will be going to Van Riper State Park near Champion, west of Marquette for two nights. Been really fun up here at Ft. Wilkins State Park these past 2 and a half days. Will be returning for sure.

Have a lot of catch up to do on here I can see, so am just gong to do a blanket welcome to all the new foks, prayers for those needing them, have fun to those heading out on the road etc.

LongDogs2, if you happen to get back on here, I have a PM waiting for you.

Well, guess I had better take Ms. Sassy for her morning walk and get this rig ready to roll down the road. Just a bit over a hundred mile drive today, so not too bad. Looks like might run into rain though. If I can get WiFi at Van Riper, will be on again later. Have a nice day all.

Good Morning !!! Looks like everyone is busy or better yet off having fun. or like Sue on the road. I have the seats cleaned off in here and planned on using my Swiffer mop. What I plan and what works out half the time doesn't happen.
I'm a wee ticked right now, wanted to clean my floor and I can't get my Swiffer to work. Used my DD's, but this one I had to put together and I've done something wrong or got a baddy. Expecting Dawn and Vicki and hoping one of them can help me find out what I did wrong, and I'm really hoping I'm at fault as I've tossed the receipt. Transportation not easy either.

Remember my frog fun time in here and I said I heard another that sounded like he might be inside ?? Well he was !!, :o he died though on my inside black step. Don't know when he hopped there and of course in the corner of that black step I never saw him until I was sweeping this morning and out he went !!! He was NOT a wee small frog as other. This was a BIG one !! Do you have any idea or can you imagine the mayhem that would have occurred inside my smallish home IF that thing had landed on my leg while I was asleep ???

That's my news , such as it is for this morning :D I'm excited to meet Vicki(Oma), and to see Dawn and Paul again. Think I'll play a couple games to calm myself down, between the Swiffer and excitement, think I need calming
wishing you all a great day, hopefully something fun is in there somewhere. Those on the road safe travels

CArol :)

Good Morning from North Platte, Nebraska

I went to Fort Robinson yesterday. It's a State Park with camping, a beautiful area and a lot to see. I, however, decided I just wasn't up to it. I've checked into a very nice park with full hookups, cable and Wi-Fi for 3 nights and thinking I'll try for 7. My Kansas daughter doesn't think I will care for the heat they are still having. Some cleaning to do but relaxing as well. Searching for boon docking, not sleeping, watching tank levels, etc. tends to wear on me. It was very quiet here this morning and I slept late.

Thunderstorm and rain last night, Cloudy now.

CArol, how nice to have company coming!

Sue, I still want to get back to the UP someday. Enjoyed our stay at the Fort 3 years ago.

Hoping for an update from Sarah regarding Nicky.

Enjoy your day whatever it brings!

Good morning Sue, CArol and all who follow!

Oh Sue, you sure aren't letting any grass grow under your feet; you are always heading out somewhere! I enjoy hearing all the cg's you stay at; someday I'm going to get up that way and try a few!

CArol, I sure hope you can fix that Swiffer, how frustrating to buy something and then it won't work right (or not at all!) Poor lil' froggie, sad that he died but good that he didn't hop up into bed with you! I would have had a heart attack if that happened!

Spent most of my early morning out working-it's a horsey weekend with 8 horses to feed, water and clean stalls for (well, 2 of them are mine, but I still have to do the work!) I came home hot, sweaty and unbelievably tired. Jumped right in the shower and now it's time for 2nd breakfast as my Grams used to say. I feel the need to find something to nibble and perhaps another cup of coffee....

A bit later I'm going to give my friend a call and see if she wants to go to the new Meijer store that opened up near us recently. I also have to make a stop at my local feed store for some bedding for my own horses. We can combine the two trips into one, I think.

Hope everyone has a great day!
Kathy

Good morning

Got Nicky home around 6:00 last night. Surgery went well with one exception - the vet found another growth/tumor during pre-op exam - it was in groin area. Both removed and sent off for analysis. Could have results back by Wednesday when he has to go back for her to change bandages and see how healing is coming along. By hand feeding him have been able to get him to take a few bites of food but am getting a bit concerned as he is still refusing water. The stitches in groin area seem to be bothering him. He hasn't tried to move much but when he does he is limping with spine curved almost in C shape with hips down and tail tucked. A pitiful sight for sure.

I'm not moving all that great past few days either. Back acting up a bit and not much sleep plus fretting over Nicky. Did not accomplish anything yesterday - surely I can do better today.

CArol - so glad you have company coming. Bet Paul or Dawn can fix that mop for you. Be sure Dawn doesn't forget to get us some photos.

Wishing all a great day.

good morning ladies
its been pretty much a normal work week for me, with exception of the storms we've had this week. Found out one of our
(used to be) co-workers lost everything in the storm that wiped out New River in one afternoon. Five feet of muddy water
went through their home. Insurance won't cover it, long story there but everyone is alive and safe. Posted a video on fb of his news interview.
I was up early this morning and got a bunch of yard work done while it was still cool. Pulled all the weeds along the fenceline, cut down the oleander (I hate oleanders) and trimmed a little on the tree outside the fence that I have finally identified
as an acacia tree. It grows sort of like a willow tree with lots of hanging down branches and don't want any coyotes to think they can hide under it. Found a cactus (actually two) growing under it and dug it out, (hate cactus too) did the poop patrol thing and a little
raking and got all the cuttings and stuff put in the dumpster for trash day. Its all ready for the fence to be put up next
weekend. Still need to dump the black tank but think it can wait until this evening. Really have so much more to get down
outside and this is the time of year to start on that but my energy level can only go so far until I say its time to go inside
and take it easy. :D All in all, I'm looking forward to getting some stuff planted that will define my "space" in the world
and make me smile.
Have tried to keep up a little on everyones meanderings over the week, Vickies new puppy...oh so cute and still waiting to hear how Nickys surgury went and the Kansas gtg just around the corner. Sue busy enjoying her new tt too.
Time to get busy on laundry, ya'll have a great day and be safe.
on edit..I see update on Nicky, hope Nicky takes water soon, maybe syringe a little in her mouth so she doesn't get dehydrated.

Poor Nicky. I hope he's just still feeling the anesthetic and sore from the surgery. It's so hard to see our babies uncomfortable. Peaches and I send love, hugs and healing strength.

Last night the weather guy said the high today would be 97 which would make it our hottest day this summer. It's overcast so don't think it's going to make it. Dawn moved to Florida just in time to join us in watching for hurricanes. Harold is already worried about where we can go and it's not even a tropical storm yet. He's back on about building something North of here.

CArol, did you put batteries in your Swiffer? I couldn't get mine to work until I decided to read the directions.

I'm not into crafts but this morning I made a couple of catnip toys for the cats. They like the felt mice the best but the last ones I bought were so cheap that they came apart in a few days and made a mess in the floor. I bought some felt squares at Walmart to use. We'll see how mine fair.

Well Martha your suggestion was right on !! I tried to read directions, couldn't find any about folding handle up etc. There was some real small print, nothing I could read. Vicki's DH, a fixer person, got it up and it's good, now to find a time that I want to work again,

We had a really nice visit, another really nice lady has joined our group, you all are going to like her and her DH joins right in, and hey he cooks too.

No pictures of our food, we all were chatting and very hungry, didn't think of pictures until the food had revived our brains :D They each got a couple of the group, me, I even forgot my camera  What a lovely day they made for me !!!!

Sarah, glad to see post about Nicki, poor baby. I know it's terrible for you too, take care of yourself. Thinking about you both

Time for a nap or a rest and watch a movie,
CArol :)

A bit late, even for the chilly northwest coast, but here I am. High yesterday was about 62--brrrr. Sunny today but still chilly. I will be heading for Mt. St. Helens tomorrow for a few days, but I climbed a lighthouse yesterday and visited a Coast Guard museum. Met a full-timing lady there who was volunteering.

Anita, they do have some terrific full hookup sites at Fort Robinson--I had one last year and liked that they had front and back sewer hookups.

And Carol, my back slide has two rubber strips that don't always close correctly, so in Florida in Winter 2013, I had one of those tiny geckos come inside. It kept hiding under the slide, but I ended up leaving my lights on all night because I was afraid I might step on it. Apparently it found its way outside because I never saw it again.

I have my new jetpack from Verizon but am using my slow iPhone tethered for a while because it uses less gig and I do not have many left for the next two weeks. At least glad I can get internet even though slow.

Way past morning! Hello all:)

Poor Nicky--I think Beth is right about still being under the influence. Or pain? Did they send pain med home with you?

CArol, how fun to have visitors--& someone to get your swiffer working   Sue, enjoy your travels! Anita, not too hot on boondocking? ;) Thought you were getting used to it  Ava, glad you're safe, but sorry to hear about your co-worker getting flooded out. Martha, the way the weather has been so severe lately, I don't blame your DH for thinking of moving.

Rained overnight & cloudy all day. Nice breeze though, but I'm waiting another hour to let the grass dry a bit before I get out to mow--even though the neighborhood is abuzz with mowers already.

Hope y'all have a great rest of the day! Be safe always, wherever you are! 8-)

Carolb, I think Alaska spoils it - boon docking and dump stations easily found. Not so in certain areas of the country when you are off the beaten path! Don't worry, not giving it up!!
