Sunny Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Friday

Good Morning from the 45th,

Sun starting to peak out here. Going to be another nice day.

Had a wonderful two days of camping at Aloha State Park. Site was right on the lake, only drawback was low hanging tree branches prevented view across the lake, but was okay. Nice to be able to sit and listen to waves lapping along the shoreline. Sassy and I took a few walks, I studied road maps, used my new BBQ grill and just plain enjoyed it. Hated to leave, but site was reserved, so had to vamoose. Plus wanted to take TT to RV dealer here and get that broken awning bracket fixed right once and for all. So at the moment it's at the dealers awaiting repairs. For those who don't know or maybe I didn't mention it, I accidently bumped against a small tree backing into a site on my June trip and just caught the lower awning bracket that holds it to the TT. Of course that broke it. So haven't been able to use awning. My dealer tried something with another bracket but it's not holding, so this time will let dealer near here do it right. Don't know when I will have it back. Hope by end of next week as I have reservations to Indian Lake State Park in U.P. again.

Was having a nice chat with Kathleen (Dayspring39) last night when her cell phone gave up the ghost. So we reconnected via PM's through the forum. I'm sure her phone is recharged by now  Sounds like she's having a nice trip. Whether we connect together is another story.

Friend has decided that she might head to SD with her son in a little over another week or so. Don't know if I will join them or not. With my TT at dealers, I don't know if I can get it ready for a long trip right now. Plus she wants to stay at Custer State Park and from what I reserarched last night, it looks to be all full up. I PM'd you Beth for some campground advice out in Rapid City area. Carolb, where did you stay when you went through there earlier this spring? Right now I have two possible trip ideas on agenda. SD to Yellowstone, Grand Tetons or leave that one for next spring and do the Great River Road in WI, down through IA to the KS GTG.

Irmi, hope you have a better day today. Been there done that too. Ava, one week down at school now with today being Friday.
Everyone else doing okay it seems, hope I didn't miss anything while gone.

Going to quit jabbering here and wish you all a wonderful day.

Good Morning Sue and everyone else too sleepy to post... I have coffee and fresh made donuts my girlfriend gave me... she works in a place that sells cider and donuts... she works year round making them... it was so nice being able to visit her... on the way there I saw a real A & W Root beer drive in!! She wanted to take me to lunch and you guessed it I said pleased lets go to A & W... so we did... I do not like hot dogs but had a chili dog and root beer... it was soooo good! When I come to Michigan it is the only time I can catch up with friends of many years...

I am headed for Six Lakes to visit my friend Teresa... not sure for how long... maybe a week or two not sure... She is a victims advocate for Montcalm County and on the side she does DJ and Karaoke... she has way more energy than I do but when I was her age I had that much get up and go... now I just think about getting up and go back to sleep!

I am parked in an old paved parking lot along side of a road M46... poor Shadow the weeds are nearly as tall as the MH so he has to look and look for a place to go pee...
My wifi is spotty... right now I am using an open site NETGEAR... mine is xfinity through Comcast... do not get it much...
Generator is humming and traffic rolling coffee is hot stop by and let us know your interesting experiences...

Found a dump station in Edmore its on my way to Six Lakes so will stop and empty! looks like a fee of $5...
Take care everyone and enjoy today...
Kathleen or Kathy

Use today wisely it's all you have; yesterday is a memory; tomorrow a dream... KLW[/b][/color]

Good Morning, Cloudy and wonderfully cool yesterday, a bit warmer to day but not bad especially since there is a lovely cloud cover. The weather wasn't so welcoming when Tina popped up to see me on Wednesday it was HOT and humid, but we managed to have a really good visit and dinner. After breakfast yesterday morning she left her lake view spot at the Crab Orchard Campground & headed east. If anyone else heads this way Crab Orchard has a lovey campground close to good eating places and it is 1/2 price with your card!

Martha you wondered if they made dog harnesses with buckles anymore, I checked on Coastalpet.com where I found my last ones and didn't see the style listed now. I hate it when they stopped making good products. There may still be some available at stores I think I found one at Rural King.

Sue, you are going to be worn out from all your trip planning! So many have said they don't make reservations ahead of time maybe you don't really need them. Sounds like it would be a good idea to travel with your friend for your first long trip.

Wish I had one of those donuts!! I've had breakfast but I'm hungry again, good sign, maybe I'll gain my 2 pounds back I lost to puppy stress. Things are a little easier, guess she is getting US trained well. I think we will start Toby in his doggy day camp next week.

Safe travels to all on the road.

Good Morning !! Beautiful here again this morning, sure am hoping our afternoon storms are nothing like yesterday's . It was really bad, water still laying everywhere. I keep wondering where Floridas afternoon "showers" are?

Trying to get a few chores done while energy is still high  doesn't last long most days ! Waiting for water heater to get hot water for me, so I can do breakfast dishes. I turn it on every other day, and have hot water. In this heat doesn't cool off much and even for my shower tomorrow water temp will be good. Have cleaned bathroom, sink and toilet, after each shower I wipe shower walls down, avoids major cleaning times for it, so doesn't take long to have bathroom in good shape.
Of course doesn't take much time to do housekeeping in here. Changing bedding is job that takes most of the time, such an odd shaped bed, I'm still thinking what would be better and easier. Can't shop around yet so thinking has to be it   that problem might be a long time getting fixed, relying on my "thinking" :o

Sounds like you had a nice getaway, Sue, hope they get that awning fixed right this time. It would be nice if you and Kathleen can meet somewhere. know there were other comments I wanted to make but they've gone poof !!!!

As you can tell, no real news from here, just wanted to wish you all a good day, those traveling, stay safe,
CArol :)

Good morning all,

Hot and swampy here in central Florida. I do understand what is meant by afternoon "showers". We used to be able to tell the time by them. Always started about 3 pm and lasted about 30-45 mins. Not so much any more.

I've really enjoyed reading about everyone's travels either on here or on their blogs. Can't wait until we get to start traveling more. We do have a couple of weekends scheduled. Today we are going to Hardee Lakes. It's a county park that has just been upgraded to water and electricity with a dump station. We're really enjoying all the improvements. Over Labor Day weekend we will be at Ortona South, a COE park and of course we have plans to attend the Silver River gtg. We try to camp at least one weekend each month. Everyone is always welcome to join us.

We don't have pets due to allergies but I must say the pets here are sooo cute :D . Looking forward to petting some of the furry friends. Just have to wash up immediately afterwards.

Hope everyone one has a great day. Stay safe on your travels.

This time of year we have a lot of afternoon showers. They start when the farmers are trying to cut rice. I had to wait in Walmart a little while yesterday for the rain to stop. It looks like it could rain again today. At least it cools it off for a while.

BJ, I found a harness with buckles on-line. I need to get the dog's measurements. I might look at Tractor Supply before I order one but most of the stores have the same thing. I consider Tractor Supply the Walmart of farm supplies. All these national stores run the small local hardware stores out of business. We have one that has managed to survive by specializing in parts. Sometimes the people at Lowes get on my nerves when I'm looking for something and they think they know what they are talking about but they don't.

I'm one of those people that's not good at planning. I seldom make reservations except when I'm going to a GTG. I have been lucky at just winging it. Haven't stayed at Walmart yet. I have started looking for a campground earlier in the day and try to get off the road before dark.

There's a reason my BIL calls me "wingnut". :D

BJ, I think the harness I was looking at last night was on Ebay. Just do a search for Leather Dog Harness and a lot of sites come up. The leather ones are a lot more expensive but wouldn't be as bad in a small size.

Evening Coffee in the Rain

Postby DearMissMermaid » Fri Aug 08, 2014 9:14 pm

Raining inside and outside, hope to fix that SOON. An angel climbed up on the roof and threw my 9 foot picnic tablecloth over the offending area. :?

Three ladies so far have reserved sites at Hunting Island State park in SC for late October Get Together. We are having potluck happy hour and dinner at my site each afternoon/evening. I hope more sign up soon before all the camp sites are gone.

Been a busy summer for me as a volunteer workamper on lake Hartwell in South Carolina. I hope to travel soon to make repairs and go careening around this big beautiful world! :D
