Kit is safely parked in the back yard of the new house. Hurrah!

We got her into place just before the hail started. No problems -- but I'll tell you right now, the gate will be widened soon. It's a two-person job driving through there right now.

Aw, darn it Linda. Wish I had known you were going to be around Grayling. I only live about 18 miles north of there. Maybe some other time. Glad everything's working out for you with Amazon.

Haven't been around the campfire for quite awhile. Been busy I guess, doing what I don't know Wll, lets see. There's house cleaning, grass cutting, a week long trip through the U.P., another week up at the resort up there, doing some day trip stuff with neighbor, shopping, more house cleaning, more grass cutting You get the picture. No excuse for not being on here.

Now the debate is whether or not to head west yet this fall. want to, but I'm being chicken in a way. First long trip via RV. Did the one in June in U.P. and was very comfortable with it, so know I can do it, just haven't been out of MI for a number of years and never with a trailer in tow. Plus there's Sassy's eyesight and old age etc. but she seems to do well on trips, so think she can handle it. Will have to skip a few things out in the Badlands and probably Yellowsotne cause I don't want to leave her in the TT on say an all day long tour that goes for hours, but there is so much to see, that one can't get it all in one trip anyway. Got to decide pretty soon, or forget it till sprng.

Am heading out for a two nighter on Monday so will see how Sassy does with that. First time out with trailer since June.

Sue, Badlands is pretty much just a drive through. There is a campground in the national park east entrance with electric hookups. You can stay with her there at night, and then even take her with you in the pickup the next day or even haul the trailer. There are about a dozen pullovers at viewpoints, but each one only needs to be a few minutes and she should be OK in the pickup. It will be cooler by then there also.

Yellowstone will be a little trickier since the drive in takes so long that you would not want to leave her all day in the trailer, I think. At least by fall it will be a LOT less busy.

Thanks Judy. Now that I know that, it makes planning a bit easier. As to Yellowstone, most of what I will probably do will be driving from the various sites and if they don't require a lot of time to view and such, I can leave Sassy in the truck while I look. What was the name of that campground out there that you really liked in Yellowstone. I need to see what the reservations are looking like out that way.

I liked Grizzly RV Park in West Yellowstone. It has full hookups and is the only RV park in town which has paved roads and grass. Ask for my favorite spot, #16 near the dog walk, although you might want a pull-through to have more room for your truck. If you want a pull-through ask for one near there. It is fairly expensive, however. $45 for a back-in, not sure about pull-throughs. Might be less off-season. The advantage is that it is within several blocks walking of the entire town.

The only place to stay in the park with electric is Fishing Bridge and it is extremely tight, even for motorhomes. Grant Village has no electric but is shaded and you might be OK leaving Sassy there without AC if the weather is cool. The campsites are mostly pull throughs but a bit tight, but not impossibly tight as Fishing Bridge is. I think you would really like Grant. I'll send you some photos.

There is also a forest service campground outside of West Yellowstone that has some electric hookups but is first come-first served only. It is called Baker's Hole, but I did not have a chance to check it out. It is also supposed to be wooded, so should be cool for Sassy and maybe you could get an electric site since you will be off-season.

You know, by the time you get to Yellowstone, if you make it that far, you will know how long you can leave Sassy in the trailer. She might do very well--who knows. In any case, just take it one day at a time.

I'll make a pitch for both of those campgrounds, Sue. If you can get a reservation at the Upper Coffeepot Campground where Sheila & her husband hosted you won't regret it. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed, and there are some real nice easy hikes around it. And the drive into West Yellowstone isn't bad at all. Sheila -- do you remember which site I stayed in when I visited you?





Grizzly is a great place to stage your visit into the park from. It's pricey, but it sounds like you'll be there after peak season. Sassy would be fine staying in the trailer there since you'll have full hook-ups.

While you're in West Yellowstone make sure you spend time at the Wolf & Grizzly Discovery Center. It's lots of fun. And there's used to be this incredible hand-made ice cream place right on the main street. It was a nightly stop while we stayed there.

it's at the end of the road on the loop if non electrical number 3 hands down love that one oh yes the electrical one is possibly 14

Quiet night at the campfire...
Another busy night at work and it isn't even time for school haircuts yet. Need the tips tho, for my trip up north in September. Been making about $60+ per day in tips so that is really good!

I might go camping next week at a local campground where I went last summer, just for a few days. Am waiting to see what the forecast is for those days before I commit. So far it is looking pretty favorable. Looking forward to S'Mores tho, if I go! I should get my new bike rack for my car, tomorrow, so I can take my new bike with. There are lots of nice bike trails all over around that campground.

My golf team won the second half of the season and is in a playoff next week with the winners of the first half! Sure wasn't expecting that this year. I am usually on a losing team . Then the week after that, we start our end of season golf tournament for individual winners. Can't believe the season is coming to an end already! Seems like we just started.

I bought a new camera on Amazon this morning. Mine is just not behaving right lately. Got a Olympus SZ-12 with a 24X zoom. Hope it will be a good camera. Only paid $134 for it but it had really good reviews.

Just finished my chocolate malt and heading to bed now.

Barbie I've seen this recipe on FB lately not totally sure but think it's basically choc in the bottom of the pan
topped with marshmallows then baked until they are browned and puffed. then serve with graham crackers..called a s'more dip
only thing is it takes the fun out of roasting the marshmallows
did something today that I rarely do...applied nail polish rather like the color
and I finally after having had a puzzle set out on my table since a month or more before I left Q finished
now I'm rather in the habit of working on one tempted to put another out but that would require taking this one apart

That sounds like a great recipe! Has anyone ever made a banana S'More? I guess you split a banana lengthwise while still in the peel, load with chocolate chips and marshmallows and wrap in tin foil and put over a fire for a couple minutes or so. Never tried it but sounds really good!

Had the day off today. Took my dad to the doctor and then we went out for breakfast. Later I went out for a boat ride with my friend Steve. We anchored in a cove and just sat talking and watching the loons while he tried out his new blender to mix different drinks for me to taste. His watermelon/vodka/sprite mixture was awesome! Had a nice time and some much needed laughs! He thinks I am really funny after I've had a couple drinks!

Just heard on the news about a new issue with woodticks. The Lone Star tick is located in the south, southeast and up the east coast now. People who have been bitten by this tick become highly allergic to red meat and sometimes even dairy products. Strange but true! So be careful if you get bitten by one of them.

Looks like the weather is supposed to be very nice next week so will probably go camping at the regional park nearby for a couple days. Finally got my bike rack for my Jeep so will take my new bike with too. No swimming there tho since the beach is closed due to high e-coli levels. Yuck!

Just bought a ticket ahead of time for the MN State Fair which starts in just two weeks! That is a sure sign of the end of summer! I missed it last year because of my sprained ankle, so am anxious to get there this year. Love to go to the fair!

Last year I liked the MN State Fair Facebook page and get their posts. I really like their pictures of the fair food. The cream puffs look so good. If I ever decide to drive to my brother's I would plan the trip so I could go to the fair.

Wow Barbie, when I read your sentence about the lone star tick I thought is that really true ? I googled it and it's a very serious thing and you can die from a reaction before you know you have the allergy to a tiny tick bite. Scary stuff. Thanks for the heads up.
