Peyton & Eli

Postby NakedPupsAndMe » Thu Jul 24, 2008 2:26 pm

Peyton & Eli are my 2 new fosters. I don't know much about their history except they were kept in small crowded pens & used for breeding. They don't know how to play with toys, chew their chewy sticks, walk on a leash, etc... When they came here they were covered in fleas & filthy. I don't think either of them had ever had a bath, much less groomed.

We like football here so we named them Peyton & Eli, after the Manning bros Qbacks! These are just their names while they are with us. For what they've been through they are suprisingly healthy & loving. They both have been de-flea'ed, groomed, vetted & neutered. They are recuperating now from their neuter surgery.

These are some pics of when we picked them up. Eli is the Chinese Crested, & Peyton is the poodle.

Sweet babies in this condition break my hearts! But my favorite part is the "after's!" They still have a ways to go, but already they are clean & happy. Soon they'll be healthy again too. This is Peyton & Eli Tuesday night!

They are starting to look like happy boys! We are going camping with weekend & hopefully they can go on their first camping trip with the family!

So nice that you cared enough to foster these sweet guys. It's sad to not have had someone to love them before. Our pets ask nothing of us and still treat us with unconditional love. The after pics of these guys already shows them in a much better place! Bless you. Thanks for sharing this.

P.S., loved the names, too! The Manning brothers are phenomenal.

If people only knew where pet store puppies come from they would NEVER buy one. And what happens to them if they don't sell and they get too big to be "cute". I wish they would close down all the puppy mills. Many, many congrats to you for rescuing these guys. They're so cute. Give both a big smooch for me.

Look at those smiles in the after pictures. They certainly know they have found a better place to be - even if this one is temporary. What love they will give you and you them while you have them. And I bet you make darn sure their permanent homes will be good ones.

Have a great time on the camping trip with them. I just bet they love it!

mill fosters are never easy, but they do come around and learn the important
things, bless you for what you do and you did a great job of cleaning them up.
Have fun on your camping trip, and don't forget your camera.

These guys have just been wonderful! I'm in love with both of them. And you gals are awesome! I wasn't going to preach about pet store puppies & puppy mills, but you are so right!! This is what happens to the ones that are still there pumping out all those puppies. And Peyton & Eli will recover quickly. That is the beauty of dogs. Eli has begun to play with a chewy, but he's not sure what he's supposed to do with it. He flips it in the air & chases it. They both are learning to walk on a leash & we're introducing them to our "pack". So far so good!

And Bethers, they won't leave here til I'm sure they have a "forever" home where they'll be loved as they deserve! I will keep updating you guys cause I'm so glad they have a chance at another life!

In a paraphrase from "Pretty Woman," Eli and Peyton "clean up real good!" Good for you in fostering those puppy mill dogs. They certainly do look happy in the "after" picture. And they have lots to be happy about. As do you!

What a differeence you made already when you cleaned them up! Resuce dogs always seem so happy and grateful. Sure, they may have a few 'issues', but they usually turn out to be wonderful pets. Glad you are able to foster them. Hope they get good homes.

They both are doing so good! Eli is unbelievable. He is so good. We've been working on housetraining & he is catching on quickly. I've groomed his face better. We are going slow, as I want him to not resent grooming. We do a little everyday, & each time he's calmer.

Peyton is my poodle love! He follows my every step. He is learning to share lap time. He is best cuddler, just melts right into you. He's a little slower on the housetraining but we're getting there. His hair is wonderful, which is lucky for him. It is very silky with that poodle curl. If he had cottony hair, I would never have gotten the mats out. Both of them had baths today, so I'm taking new pics tomorrow. They both are laying right beside me as I write this. By the time they leave here they will be seasoned campers!
