well, I'm eating peanuts and the shells are going right on the ground - isn't that where they're supposed to go?

I'll just take all the cans and recycle. Be sure to pull the pop tops off. I've got to start making extra money so I'll just pick all the cans! Oh, give me one for my energies, that will be ?? left. Toss those shells into the fire and watch it pop.

I threw some logs on the fire just thinking about going back to Tennessee and the cold weather!! I sure am going to miss my shorts. Of course, I wear them year round in the house!! LOL!! Lori---how many beers are left. I got a feeling I'm going to be needing several the next few weeks. Just picked up some candy wrappers----must have been from the S'Mores----cause they are Hershey candy wrappers!!!

Here's some more logs for the fire! It's only 7 degrees above zero here! It snowed all day long....literally all day long....and yet we only have about 3 inches of new snow on the ground! This fire REALLY feels good tonight! Instead of beer, I am making me a hot toddy, to warm my hands and my guts!

Nice to hear from you, Fernie! Hope your trip back to TN is an easy one....maybe by the time you leave, the snow will be gone!

Huddle close, you all----it's still winter in many places!

Thanks---just what I need. I was sitting down at the dog park with Tobey a little while ago in my shorts and short sleeve shirt and it dawned on me-----I don't want to fly home in shorts tomorrow like I had planned!!!! LOL!! Oh well, it gives me a little more room in the carry on bag. I am not checking luggage-----just my carry on and my computer!! Most of the clothes I brought to Az. I am leaving here. I just grabbed two off the wall to psych me up for tomorrow!! 98 bottles of beer on the wall----98 bottles of beer............................................................ ;)

Wow!! Thanks. Hey---I had a real fire Wed. I had a burn pile from where I trimmed some trees last summer and never got it burned. It was either too dry or too windy when I was home last year. I had to call and get a permit since this is the fire season here. Unlesss it is super dry, we can burn here in the county from May 15-Oct.15 without a permit. City folk always have to get a permit. IT isn't anything complicated--just call the forrestry dept and they give you a permit number unless they aren't allowing burning that day for some reason.

I'm snuggled up with some hot choc. and left-over cookies that were in the freezer from Christmas!!! The moon is shining, the fire is crackling and I'm snug as a bug in my lounge chair covered up with my blankie watching the flames from the fire!!

Hi, everyone! I, too, love sitting in front of a campfire, no matter what the temperature! One of my favorite parts of camping is the fire each night, especially when shared by friends. I can't WAIT to begin sitting in front of one outside again---maybe this weekend!

I am leaving some extra logs, and replenishing the hot chocolate supplies. I'll probably check back tonight, and maybe actually make me a REAL fire out on my deck in my fire-pit-on-wheels for me and Molly to sit around. Sounds like a plan----now if only I had someone to share the fire with. Sigh. I miss my son and his girlfriend----they were always up for a nice fire at night. Oh well, I'll check in here and and carry your spirits outside with me!

Happy Friday!

I missed a whole bunch of posts somehow. I've just read Irene's. Yes, back to the Lodge and that darned hole in the ground. It seemed such a good idea last Fall.....

Taking a beer - no more hot chocolate. It was 56 degrees last night and kinda humid. I'm back in my shorts during the day and actually turned the AC on yesterday. Lets see - 97 bottles of beer on the wall, 97 bottles of beer. Added a log to the fire. Off to do my Friday Meals On Wheels. See ya'll tonight.
