4th of July

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

4th of July

Postby dayspring39 » Fri Jul 04, 2014 2:11 am

Good very early Morning everyone... so many memories are flooding my head about the 4ths of past years... My daughter Margie was born on the 5th... on the 4th we went to Schoolcraft, Mi for the carnival and fireworks... and a sure sign she was coming was that I cleaned and did laundry all day on the 5th... my girlfriend and her husband and their little one came unexpectedly that evening so we had built in baby sitters for the other three... I had surgery the day after she was born... wow I think I am living in the past!!
I do hope everyone has a great day be it alone or with friends or with family... what ever you do it is great to be alive...

Happy July 4th Everyone !
Work has been crazy, and I had a huge test to take, got that done yesterday, next chapter is on dog safety not as much to learn as bad behavior issues. Talking with one of the salespeople yesterday, he has a dog that is destroying his home, sofas, chairs, tables being tossed in the garbage. I am so thankful, Alexis only ate two shoes, a little damage on the molding and many foils off of wines bottles was taken off, but nothing in comparison to what this guy is going through. Gave him tips, hope they help. He did tell me that the secret deodorant is helping to protect what is left from this piranha of a dog.

Got some ribs and corn for the crockpot and chicken and burgers for the grill. If my neighbor is home, I will surprise him with a plate of food. Have some work that I want to get done in the yard, not much else going on here today. Beck goes into a panic with the fireworks, so I can not think of leaving him. I really do not like giving him drugs for that, so its thundershirt, music playing and just try keeping him occupied. Alexis is fine as long as she can hide in her crate, she doesn't get as bad.

Whats going on with everyone else today ? Anyone camping ? Dayspring it sounds like a good day to pull out the photo albums and go down memory lane.

Happy 4th!

What a beautiful day here in KC. This is the 3rd unseasonably cool day which makes me think of my visit to San Diego. It's 59 right now with the high's going to the low 80's. Absoltuely incredible for July in KS! Will probably have to turn the A/C back on tomorrow but enjoying it while I can.
Kathleen, the 4th used to be my favorite holiday. We lived on a street leading to a city park which celebrated with a parade down our street & fireworks at the park. We always had everyone over, cooked out & enjoyed the festivities without having to go anywhere ourselves.
Not much going on here today. For the first time in a long time, none of my kids are in town. I think I'm going to tackle the garage this morning - still need to sort thru things from Mom's house.
I hope anyone in the hurricane's path is ok - and that everyone enjoys the gift that today is.
Take care,
Catherine

good morning ladies and Happy 4th of July to all
Monsoon storm came through last evening, I had put my patio umbrella in the shed but never even thought about
the shade screens I made for the two windows. They were gone, but a little walk of the neighborhood ....they got
retrieved. Will remember to take them down next time. Left car window open so need to get the vacuum cleaner
out there and clean out the car, then I can hose down the whole area. The dust is everywhere. The deck held up
just fine, it didn't even do any rocking as of course the fifthwheel did. All the staples seemed to hold the shade
screen on top without any ripping. So I am happy. Some areas got rain right after the dust but not my neighborhood.
Its muggy out and the ac is running already.
Was watching my tv show (Big Brother) and just at the point of eviction vote channel 5 lost its antenna so I missed
that part. Daughter has it on dvr and since she has cable I can watch it over there when I go over for bbq this evening.
Thats about it for today. Ya'll enjoy your festivities whatever they may be.

Good Morning Everyone !!! I suppose most are looking forward to good eating and maybe even a parade. I love parades for any reason, always good.

No real plans here, trying to keep cool, thought about baking something, but didn't get going early enough, A/C is running and can't use oven now. Well, hey that's a good excuse isn't it?? :D Scales say I do not need anything like that anyway :(

It is a beautiful looking day outside, nice when Maggie and I, went out earlier. Weather is to turn rainy and stormy again anytime after 2 this afternoon. Really turns bad and poor Maggie, I'm so afraid she is going to have a heartattack.

Well, youngest son(stepson) just called, they're at Animal Kingdom for the day. So that was sooo nice, always so happy to hear from any of our kids. Now, hoping this is not my only big news for the day. :o :D

Have a good day, wherever you are and whatever your plans are, but please Stay Safe,
CArol :)

Happy 4th! 75 and cloudy here.

Not sure what I will do today. Was thinking of going to the Taste of Minnesota, since it has been moved to just a few miles from me this year. But I have no spending money and I hate going to places where I am tempted to buy things and don't have any money to spend. May just stay home and do laundry and start putting stuff away around here, and then tonight I can just go out back by the lake and will be able to see about 8 different fireworks displays across the lake from various towns nearby.

Lynn, I remember several years ago when San Diego's fireworks display all went off at once! :o Really lit up the sky! Can you see the fireworks from your apartment?

Hope you all have a safe, happy day! :D

I know it is late, but just got to Boyd Lake SP in Loveland, CO. Have had a horrible sore throat and cough last few days, so not feeling well, but I got a lot of work done yesterday--stripped floors, rewaxed them, did five loads of laundry, and did some reorganizing. (Had to move stuff out of regular places because of family camping with me.)

Anyway, going to try to rest today to get rid of cold. I was up in the middle of the night with a coughing spree that lasted an hour--just could not cough up all that sinus drainage--yuck. I am enjoying one of my favorite musical movies on TV: Yankee Doodle Dandy, based on the life of George M. Cohan, staring James Cagney. Cagney was quite a dancer in his day, so it is a shame he is mostly remembered for his tough guy movies. It's a great movie if you have never seen it--a real tear-jerker at the end. Perfect movie for the 4th of July.

Hope everyone has a good day today, whether camping or not, alone or with family!

So sorry you are sick Judy. just heard again yesterday to try a spoonful of raw honey for a cough and that it equals RX cough syrup many times. Hope I can remember that nest time I am sick!

L-Lysine is also good for healing sore throats and coughs (heals the tissue in your throat that is irritated and sore). Took care of my sore throat in two days.
