Good morning CArol & everyone!

Carolb left here a little over an hour ago and she is on her way to her home in NY. It was wonderful having her here and we got so much accomplished. With Carol's help, we got the outdoor rocker/glider, the outside wooden swing set, settee and a small table stained. Everything looks so good! The weather was quite warm and muggy but a gentle breeze kept us comfortable.

Yesterday I met with Dad's attorney to start closing his estate and will meet with him again today to start signing papers.

Tomorrow we'll be leaving to meet friends at a local state park for the long weekend.

Good morning

Coffee all gone and I need to get moving before it gets too hot outside. Grocery shopping day (senior discount day) and later take younger niece in for blood work. This is an off week for her chemo but doctor thinks she might need another unit of blood. Remainder of day will be trying to resolve computer problems again as yesterdays efforts did not work.

Feeling just a little bit guilty about telling SIL (late husbands side of family) last night that I'd prefer she and grandchildren not stay at my house over holiday weekend. Wouldn't mind if just her but I am no longer kid friendly - especially those who are not well disciplined. She has two sisters here and is really coming to see them but they also have children & grandchildren visiting for weekend so will be a bit crowded for her to stay with one of them. I do have plenty of room in this big house - just not in mood to babysit, clean up after them or give up my TV to cartoons. Almost sounds unAmerican of me.

Have a safe day and try to stay cool in this heat.

I think that is OK that you refuse to have little ones running amok in your house! I would be a wreck too, if I had to deal with that. I can barely handle it at work when we have a few running around the shop waiting for haircuts!

Good morning everyone little on the tired side this morning storm kept me awake most of the night
but now through the long weekend we are to have nice weather.... I got almost all of the kitchen finished painting... about to do the part that used to be back porch.. took while out now
and eating nook in part of the kitchen... just three small windows back door will be done and it will be done.. then on to the next thing... until I made a list yesterday I thought
I was seeing light at the end of the tunnel.... but I better think again it's a big list!!

Finally have a day off after 9 days straight of working! Went fast tho. Seems I was just home for 5 days during my "vacation". Found out yesterday that I have another 16 hours of vacation time yet for this year, so I can schedule another trip up north maybe in September. Probably just stay at a cabin or motel tho.

It is looking to be a nice day today so I want to go do some fun things! I think I will head to my dad's and take my kayak out for it's maiden voyage! Then maybe go play golf, or go to the Landscape Arboretum and walk thru the woods. I have lots to do around my apartment to get unpacked but that can wait for a rainy day.

Good Morning All, Looks like all the Illinois sisters survived the bad storms with not much bad damage. Soccer game yesterday was great fun. Altho we lost, it was a good game and hugh crowd down at PetCo Park. I guess I like soccer so much as my three grandsons all played the game.
Sarah, good for you!!! I like a woman who can say no! And Judy, I understand perfectly what you mean about enjoying being alone again!

Alright Sarah and Barbie, now you have ME confused! It IS Weds, I think! You had me checking the cell phone. Sarah, i can relate to that. It's sort of like me not wanting neighbors in the backyard all the time. No reason not to, but it is MY yard and when they sawe the camper gone they went runnuing over. Thought I was out of town, but I came back. I feel a guilty because there is no reason for them not to come, I just don't want them all the time. Wendy

Good Morning... coffee and oatmeal gone here... have chicken rice and tomatoes cooked in crock pot... smells so good...
My eyes are ok now.. 20/20 for distance and will get +2 reading glasses at WalMart or Sams... feels good to be done with everything... now to catch up $$ wise and then my teeth are next... sure need them done but one thing at a time!
Oh Sarah no need to feel bad it is your house and you do not need children all over the place into things... one time my daughter brought her littlest one and she got up and took an expensive tube of lip stick and drew all over my wool rug... it was a very costly fix... and she did not get disciplined at all... I would have told her she could not go swimming for a few days but no that did not happen... now she is 15 and has not went to school for 2 years... guess my daughter will have a roomer all of her life...
Today is the day Kelsie comes to clean... it is cool so I will have her start on the windows...
Barbie do you recommend any nail polish? I need something to make my nails strong... they have grown and I want to keep them at least for the wedding...

I slept in this morning, guess I was tired, but we all sat outside enjoying what was left of the sunrise. It was a little overcast
to the east so sunrise was cooler. Felt good. Kitty has taken to coming down alot now and just hanging out on the floor. I'm
glad to see that as I'm sure the floor is cooler than that shelf up there. But at least she knows where her litterbox is, although
I'd love to get rid of it, I just don't think I should. Maybe in the fall if she decides she's going to spend more time outdoors.
I can hope anyway.

Good afternoon all!

The weather has been FL-like here the past couple of days, with occasional thunderstorms in the distance----95 degree temperatures, which is very rare for this part of the country! As much as I hate air conditioning, I must confess I turned mine on here in the trailer yesterday as I still have a horrid cough I caught from my grandson, and it's difficult for me to breathe in this hot humidity. The dogs loved it!

New baby Orson is gaining weight and size every day, and Orion is getting too heavy for me to lift any more! Son and his wife are here from FL visiting this week. I guess they brought the heat.

Time to go inside and finish a load of laundry, and then dogs and I will walk to pond and get the paddleboat bailed out and ready for a jaunt. It's about 10 degrees cooler down there in the log cabin at the far end, as the breezes blow across the entire cold surface of the pond before they get there. The water pump is hooked up down there now, so there is running water for flushing and bathing. Propane ice box is up and running, as is the kitchen stove. Not sure about the hot water heater yet, but will find out today, maybe.

As for the Ruckus in the Mountains this year, I have no date as yet, as things have just been too hectic here. If/when I set a date, it will be much more laid back than other years and much less organized! More like a group campfire/eating feasts/singing fests/chat fests! I will try to stay in touch about it for those not on Facebook, but I just never get on here and have to deal with all the rigamarole it takes for me to post on here-----I know it's just me, as others of you have no problems doing it, so don't chastise me, just humor me! I find it very time consuming to say what it takes me just a fraction of the time to say on Facebook.....especially with posting pictures and videos.

I think of you all often, but seldom post-----I hope you all are well and happy wherever you are and whatever you are doing.
