Midwest - Flint Hills (KS) GTG - September 19-22

Let's get together!

OMG I knew there was a reason I didn't want to go on or even very close to some of those lakes/creeks, etc. The alligator wouldn't have to get me, I'd just go ahead and have a heart attack. Give me a good old rattlesnake in the southwest anytime.

Do you want some? :P ;)

No, thank you. :)

Some of the ideas of just getting out on the lake & reading or floating is very appealing. There might be a lot of kayak converts after this GTG. :D

Sorry I had to cancel on this gtg due to change of plans. I had reserved site 19 for Sept. 16-22. That site should now be available if anyone wants to nab it. Was really looking forward to this one, sorry to miss out, but family obligations call.

So sorry you had to cancel, Liz. I did just book your site. #19 arriving 9/14, departing 9/22

I'm down all by myself it seems. There is no way I can manage to walk up to visit with others so hope Tina doesn't have to cancel (she has trusted me with her car a couple of times in the past).

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

The war department approved the trip for the meatball to come to the GTG. So my GF, Snitzel the schnauzer, Jaeger the boxer and I will be backing into number 13 just down the way. Hope we fit! Arriving Friday midday and I think stay until Monday. Maps says it's 254 miles and only about 4-5 hours from OKC.

The more the merrier! We're working on getting Ronnie travel ready, as of right now it's still up in the air if we'll make it, so keep up the prayers/good healing thoughts and we'll try to be there!

Not to worry, Sarah. I've got site #45 down by the action. I don't have it until the 19th, but I'd be happy to let you have it & I'll stay in #19. Sadie & I could use the exercise. Or you might be able to switch to one of the walk-ups (like 41A) when you arrive.
Liz, sorry about the change of plans, but totally understand. Hope your sister heals quickly - but she'll probably still need your help for some time to come. What a gift that we can take our homes with us anywhere.
Barb, so happy that you're able to come.
Vicki, I'll add you & Ronnie to my prayers. Would love to meet you both.

I added Sarah and Barb to the campground location map (on the first post of this thread).

"Liz, you were not on the map." she said, perplexed . About when did you tell us your site number? I hate when I screw up like that!

Can you guys look at the map when you get a chance and make sure I haven't screwed something else up...

So, Pat, just curious here - you comin' or not?

And Sharon - a couple of things...

Here's how to make your own self-rising cornmeal:

Secondly, you still wanting me to bring a homemade pizza dough recipe (it would be frozen just a few days before I leave - nice little ball of wonderful dough).

And now, I, too, am back to being excited. But not if The Pest can't come...who would/could I pick on?

I never said I was coming until today, when I'm not because the plans were still too jello. So you didn't screw up this time. A few people knew I was hoping to come.

I figured you'd comment on that. Really I can't think of a single time you've ever screwed something up. How was that?
