Linda, which Amazon are you going to? I worked in Coffeyville, KS for two seasons. Thinking about Campbellsville this year - maybe.

Linda doesn't always see the forum every day. Probably will since I'm answering for her. She is first going to do a special job in NJ, training new employees at a new Amazon facility. Then she'll be back in Campbellsville for the Christmas season.

Finally moved into my new apartment! Whew! Still have to clean the old one but am tired and have time to do it later on after the weekend.

This new apartment has some pluses and minuses. Pluses are it is smaller but cute and cozy, has beige colored walls instead of white so makes it warmer feeling. I like the layout better too. The building is on a hill overlooking the lake (larger bay than I was on before) and I enjoy sitting on the back lawn or on the end of the docks, watching the boats go by and kicking my feet in the water. They also have an elevator and an exercise room. I still know quite a few people who still live here from when I lived here about 8 years ago. Everyone is so nice. Lots of older ladies here and they have a tea party in the lobby on Tuesday afternoons, which I have been invited to join in on. The building is sturdy and the garages are not crumbling apart!

The downside is they have central air here (versus a window A/C) but it isn't very good so it gets pretty warm by late afternoon, even with the blinds closed. I have a fan in the window now that the sun has set, pulling in the cooler air from outside. The other thing is I am at the end of the building right next to the main road thru town, so lots of traffic noise. If the windows are shut, I hardly hear it, but if they are open, it gets pretty loud. I think I will get used to that eventually tho. I do miss the views I had at the other place tho, and the chirping birds in the mornings, altho I now get very nice sunsets.

So some good, some not so much, but the best thing is I get to have my ferret without worrying about getting caught. I got her back today from "ferret camp" and we spent a lot of time playing and letting her explore the new surroundings. Maybe by next year I can pay off some bills and have enough to rent an apartment on the back side overlooking the lake. They are about $100/mo more than this one.

Apparently this morning my dad asked his renter to take him to the bank. So when they got there he went in to ask if he could set up an appointment to get his car fixed on Monday... And his doctor insists he is perfectly fine.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Hope the bank people were kind in their response to your dad.

So glad your move went well, Barbie! It's grand to have the ferret without worrying about building management. Geeze, your father! That's a tough one.

I'm moving at the end of this month, into a small house. Feeling a little overwhelmed. Off to spackle walls and strip woodwork this weekend. There's a fenced-in yard for The William!

Barbie, glad you got into the new apt. I laughed about your Dad and the bank. I do feel sorry for you deAling with thiS. My parents died so young, 69 and 79 I never

had to go through this with them. Although I miss them terribly, I think what you are going through is worse.

Yeah, the first day off in two weeks that didn't have either work or a dog show scheduled. :) That is way too over scheduled for a "retired" person but the $$ from the seasonal work position will come in handy especially with the recent trend in gas prices. Today is catch up paperwork day, move bunches of stuff into the rig day and get some groceries so I have stuff to eat for lunch at work next week day. Stuart and I drove past the river this morning and he tried to convince me that it was take Stuart for a kayak ride on the river day but I dissuaded him of that idea....at least for today. The river did look very inviting though. If I get the inside of the rig looking like more than piles of stuff I will take pictures. I have great admiration for Beth and others that full-time and have to move directly and overnight from one rig to another. Especially if the floor plans are different and the storage options changed around, there is no small amount of thinking that goes into restoring everything. :)

And while I think I've figured out where everything is hidden, I daily learn I'm wrong. I think I have to purchase a new small flashlight as both the ones I love are in hiding, I'm sure in the same place.

I'm hired on in Campbellsville, but think I may also apply for the new facility in Murfreesboro, TN. It would give me a chance to explore the possibility of using TN for my domicile. I like that BCBS is on board with the Affordable Healthcare Act, there, and my premiums would be cheap, cheap, cheap! Their vehicle registration is also very reasonable. I just changed my residency to my DM's address, in IA, but am now nervous about that choice, after being here with her for several weeks. I would rather have a mail forwarding service than rely on a relative or friend.

Feeling the itch to move on and get to work at Amazon. I have a half brother and his wife, who live across the way from my DM. He can be such an A$$, sometimes, and his personality can change in an instant  It could have something to do with his diabetes and blood sugar, so I try to not take it personally, but it is hard. My DM mentioned to me that she would like to sell the electric lawn mower, out in the garage, since nobody is using it. I mentioned to them that I need to clean it up so I can run an ad on CL. They got pissy and said it's their backup mower, in case theirs goes on the fritz. I asked if they had a place for it and my brother said there would be more room in Mom's garage if my stuff wasn't in it. OOOH!!! I should have said I now "live" here  Instead, I said it wouldn't make much difference and he told me to "shove it up my a$$" :o He talked like this to me once before, in the past, and wouldn't tell me why. It took me several years to find out and it wasn't justified. As they walked away, I said "you folks have a wonderful day!" and his reply was, "up yours!" I am really feeling the love in this family :? See why I always say that my RVing family is closer than my blood family? I can just see what it will be like when DM passes away. Between the 3 boys, it will be scary  Really don't understand why he would have a problem with my little corner of storage, when he doesn't even use her garage. If he does, I wish he would clean it!!! Oh, no...let Linda clean it. She always does and we don't even appreciate it. OK...enough of my pitty party

Did get some cleaning projects done. Got DM's fridge cleaned out. Didn't attempt the freezer. Nothing spoils if it's frozen, you know. Cleaned another kitchen counter and organized it. Cleaned and organized plant shelves and all the catalogs, books, and magazines in the living room. I feel better, even if DM doesn't  Will clean the guest bathroom this week, and probably again, before I leave. My DD and her family are coming this next weekend :D They won't be able to make it to my nephew's wedding, in IL. Kinda bummed about that, but at least I will get to see them one more time, before I go.

Better tend to one of my own projects. Have a file box to sort through. My SIL works at a place that stores and shreds medical files and she said she could take my papers to work to shred. She really is much nicer than her husband ;) Have a great Sunday, girls...and thanks for being my moral support through all my crap! Love you ;-*

Oh Linda, what a shame you have to deal with that abuse. He probably resents you being there, but that's no excuse to be abusive to someone. Won't be long and you'll be back on the road.
